Think it would work on a stubborn G Pyrenees mix?

Yes, I think this would work for Miss Arwen. No, she isn't stubborn, she is actually a softy.

I just purchased this for my Pyrenees/AS mix pups (9 months old.). Have tried the cheap ones too and they are crap. I hate the thought of spending thousands on the “other” 2 big name GPS collars just because I’m worried they will chew them off each other when they are ruff housing . Soo, one question I have is… if the power does go out will the collar tone/shock the dog because it’s lost connection with the transmitter ? Thanks for your review

@@barbarabrooks509 We have had a few power outages, and a toddler that unplugged the base, and it has not once has it shocked shocked the dog because of it. The collar doesn’t even beep when power has been lost, but the transmitter-base does beep to let you know it has lost power. It’s even a different beep than what the color does for when the dog gets to close the limit. Hope this helps!

Have you ever had to change the battery? Can you change the batter on these?

I have not replaced the battery, I don’t believe you can change the battery, but it charges in under two hours, and we charge it roughly every two weeks. Hope this helps.

I think it would be better that he knows it’s the collar that way if the battery dies he still knows the boundaries. We have wild animals running around and we have to have it on . Soon he will think a plane collar is the shock collar

That's an interesting point, and I can see some merit to it. But dogs are amazingly detailed and many can and will figure out the differences between different collars. Some dogs figure out that "this collar means boundaries, and that collar means freedom". The point of never letting the dog know that it's the collar is so that they think the actual boundary is the boundary, not the collar. This means that the times that our dog has been let out by mistake without the collar on she still respects the boundary and doesn't run away. And yes, this happens in my house. I have a very busy household and things like this happen, no matter how much I try to prevent them. This is jut my preference, you need to do what works for you and your dog.
