    Nice. Quick tip: damp your strings with a cloth or scrunchy at the nut but also I damp then with a cloth right by the bridge. This cuts down on glitches and still sustains long enough in most cases.

    Interesting approach and quite advanced for a 'free' DAW. Hint: turn the input volume of your audio interface to a minimum to avoid that every slight touch on a string results into a note. I found that it works better if you just record the audio and not as midi because long guitar notes will show up as short notes in the midi file, while it sounds fine if you record just the audio. The "window size" setting in ReaTune is also interesting to tamper with, it can influence the sensitivity or latency (I think).

    There's a better way to turn off the sound of the guitar... Just alt-click on the routing button to turn off the master/parent send. That way it takes input and it sends the MIDI to other tracks, but it doesn't send audio to the master channel.

    • @REAPERMania
      @REAPERMania  5 років тому +5

      I wouldn't say it's "better" because it does require using two channels. But it's another way.
