All these years I've been manually clicking in notes with virtual keyboard or the mouse... This is about to completely change my work flow for the better... Bless this dude for creating this.
This script is brilliant, but so is the video explaining how to use it! Thank you so much for the tip on such a great addition to Reaper AND showing how to use it!
Every Single day the more tutorials am completing for REAPER am loving it more and more. I don't know If there is any other DAW in this world has such capabilities and community along with a INSANELY GREAT TEACHER like KENNY. Kudos to REAPER team and I don't have words to explain my excitement and love for the DAW that is increasing day by day. Still in evaluating mode but rest assured once I finish all the videos from REAPER website am going to instantly buy this DAW, no questions asked.
The chord gun might be a shortcut but is also a wealth of learning info when it comes to musical theory and what scale associates with a specific chord groujp etc.
Oh my god! Just a treasure trove of information. Really glad I chose reaper as my DAW because the software and your channel are awesome! I'm learning so much so fast, and have TONS of tools to get me going. Thanks so much!
Thank you, Kenny! I've recently bought a few MIDI tools that "sort of" do this, but this looks easier. Reaper has so many more things it can do than most of us know! Thanks for the tutorials!
I still like UChord (I'd like to accumulate a chord progression before committing it to the piano roll), but Captain's out of a job. I'd love to have some kind of 'chord object' in the actual Reaper piano roll, where you could e.g. select a chord and have some kind of action to invert them and other manipulations.
@@BillGraper Yes, I have InstaChord and all of the other "Insta..." related vst's. Haven't used them much, though... too many plugins - too little time!
I wanna more music already! But I can't stop watching your videos Kenny, after EACH and EVERY one I feel like I should watch just one more as they will always make me even better. This tool is awesome and your creative ways to use it for shortcuts are inspiring, definitely gonna start my next track today, I think.
That's a hell of a tool, thanks for sharing! Just put a fender rhodes VST in a new midi track, randomly click some chords on the chord gun, and ready is a hit ;) Cheers!
Thanks so much for your awesome tutorials, Kenny. I think I've watched nearly all of them. Great help finding my way around Reaper. This again: wonderful and very useful! 🙏
Damn nuff respect to Kenny I learned so much from you thank you so much and big shout-out to Reaper as well don't worry by the end of the year I'll definitely pay the money to pay for that Reaper cuz it's so worth it
Ooh God.!! I had no idea this was possible .... I am an amateur user trying to record a demo ...... this has been super useful to help me with the musical block ....... thank you very much for this information Kenny .......amazing Broo.....Regards from Spain. !!! 👏🤘💪
Already downloaded and put to use in my latest music video. So easy to pick out chords within a proper key, and very simple to use. Great for getting a variety of chord inversions for sustaining ambient pads.
Incredibly useful tool. Pandabot is the man! Didn't know this kind of tool was just a few clicks away :) I was always looking for something like this without having to buy a pricy VST. It's so useful to come up with some basic chord progressions (even if you use other notes later on. Or to set up a progression to practice musical instruments to. Impressive that it also is so well integrated with the MIDI editors, so that it replaces existing chords, preserves the rhythm and so on. I also love that it works with arpeggiators which follow in the FX lane, such as MIDI arpeggiator (see an other video by Kenny Gioia).
Or, one could simply put the cursor on a note, right click and go down to "insert chords" and get a much more extensive list of chords to use than Chord Gun offers. Like a "mMaj7add13" or a "13b5b9" chord.
Kudos to pandabot (Ben Johnson) for creating this incredibly useful tool. I've played around with this, but I didn't know about playing it in real-time or selecting existing events and replacing chords.
wow. didnt know this existed. i just found your channel today, im binge watching big time. ive been trying to upgrade my mixes from part amateur to at least decent.
The gentleman that wrote this script deserves some donations. And Kenny deserves some for being the best Reaper teacher on UA-cam..
Deeply agree.
I wonder if Kenny ever gets tired of hearing how awesome he is.... Kenny you're awesome

The open nature of Reaper makes it better for me every day.
Thank you Kenny and the script creator.
... and as a bonus, you’ll even learn a little music theory! 😉 Great script. Great tutorial! 👍

Thanks Kenny, this is way easier than the «stick to a key» button and paint chords in piano roll

@@shamanbeartwo3819 I had not thought about that, I'll try it next time and we'll see how complex I can go
@@shamanbeartwo3819 heya, i see that option but nothing happens when I try to choose any chord... can you elaborate on this way a little more?..
This is unbelievably useful. And I just bought an arturia keystep pro...😂

Very useful, great video, thank you
awesome! i know chord theory well, but i still like to use tools like this, they make me think/comppose differently than actually playing chords.
I have been using Chordgun for some time and i is the best of this type of tool that I have tried.
This video is probably the best video for bedroom players like me. :)
