Why would being on a BBW site be a red flag?
You showed him off the bat that you would be easy to manipulate. You were willing to talked to a gray profile because you were bored/ lonely and admitted to him that you usually don't. That told him well under the right circumstances you'd be willing to do things you normally wouldn't do. You also didn't pump the breaks when only 3 weeks in he said I love you. I mean if the dude was 16 cool but the man almost 50 and had a failed marriage. He was trying to fill his time with whatever woman would allow him to do so. He sounds like a sadist and got happy that you were so upset only knowing the fool a few months.
Straight up- you shouldn’t be saying I love you or making moving commitments etc to ANYONE without having an in person relationship first.
Beyond catfishing, lies, etc. there is an entirely different dynamic in person. Not just physical attraction, but the way in which two people interact face to face can be totally unlike online or by text or even video chat. Making those grandiose statements before meeting puts enormous pressure on a relationship before you even start.
First off- you need to get divorced. If you are truly done with your ex and he is done with you an uncontested divorce should not be difficult to get through. Do it before starting another relationship.
Second you need to limit online dating to an introduction- stick to people who live close enough (a few hours drive) that means you can realistically get to know them face to face.
First, the hair looks great.
Second- no pic on a dating website means he’s either still married or in a relationship.
Third-he never left his house. He never had any intention of visiting you ever. He probably really genuinely enjoyed talking to you because you made him feel good. I’m sorry he wasted your time.
Next time if someone says I love you after 3 weeks, know it’s a red flag. Especially from someone old enough to know better.

H Lauren not necessarily a red flag.. my new husband we said I love you after being together/talking phase for 3/4 weeks but THEN AGAIN, he was local to me we talked all the time saw each other every weekend (he’s a truck driver) and then I found out that he use to be childhood friends with my brothers back in the 90s so his family and my family go WAY back! Clearly I didn’t know this neither did he until my maiden name rang a bell after 3 month of dating (I was still registered under my X husbands last name on social media and other things so when I got with my now husband he only knew my Exes last name) but the whole point is that’s not always a red flag and I’ve been with my now husband almost 2 years now :)

So I know the horrors of being tricked and being played

Ghosters are flighty people to begin with. It affects them in many facets of thier lives. Ghosting you is just one scenario. If you could be speak with people that know them there is almost always a pattern of broken promises, constant rain checks and unanswered correspondence. It usually boils down to avoidance of accountability and possible confrontation. This is a habitual tendency that requires behavioral modification. And yes when the ghoshee gets rightfully upset it only reeinforces their decision to ghost you, they feel justified and relieved

@@LDrosophila yes, I ended up in therapy for 18 months over the lost of a good friendship. I had known her since middle school, im 34 now. I had a history of dropped contact with her over the years after graduation. Even tho we were adults that had lives, there was no excuses for me to constantly cancel on her and break promises. The straw for her was after a fight over my flaking that I didn't speak to her for 2 months. Of course in natural selfish behavior I called her up acting like nothing had happened. Well she was over my sh*t to say the least and ended our friendship for good. I was devastated 😢. The irony of that was she ended up living in head. I was calling and hanging up, sending gifts and stalking her Facebook. Ghosters are far more messed up than the ghosted for sure. Sometimes you're the sh*tty person and recognizing that is difficult. Im glad you sought help❤

It’s easy for all these people commenting about ‘red flags’. The fact is, trust is based on interaction with another person. Most is down to gut feeling. Just like when there aren’t any red flags, sometimes you just have a feeling in your gut that something isn’t right. We don’t always get it right. We have ALL got someone wrong throughout our lives (whether that be judged negatively when should have been positive or judged positive when should of been negative). None of this is on you Kandy. We just all get it wrong sometimes. Nobody goes through life making judgments solely based on black and white facts only or ‘red flags’. You’re lovely and I’m sure you’ll meet someone one day who truly deserves you.

I suspect he was probably talking to a lot of people on that website, and he goes with whoever offers it up first. Which is why he bounces in and out. And when he tries to make an excuse (I'm sure he'd happily keep you on the back boiler) he blames you (you're still married) and then says he's not worthy of you - so you'll go "no please you are!". Whoever he is, he's an absolute catastrophic disaster and there's no way he'd be good for you.

1. People with no profile pics are usually hiding something or hiding from someone.
2. Talking to someone for 4 hours EVERY DAY? Wtf that is exhausting.
3. He said I love you after 3 weeks without knowing you

5. Talking about moving across the country for someond he hasn't even met, I mean come on, guy's like 50, not 15.

In my opinion, I think this was all a bunch of Bullcrap, and let me tell you why. I had a similar situation many years ago before I was married. I actually met this guy on a call in radio show ( yes back in the day they did a dating call in). Anyway he told me everything about him, in fact too much to be true, and that he would love to meet in person, etc....well as the day got closer, his calls were fewer and fewer, then nothing, then a week later a barrage of calls saying he was busy with work etc....all the while being very complimentary and nice and promises to meet. It never happened, and I not so nicely told him to drop dead and that was that. I believe I was just stroking his ego, he was absolutely playing games with no intention of ever meeting me at all. I am glad you told him to buzz off, as he was only playing a game and getting a kick out of it. You are a beautiful women and there is someone out there for you. 😘

I’m so sorry this happened to you. Things like this can and do happen to so many people so don’t take it personally. It reflects on nobody but him. Awww, Sissy is so cute and she loves her mama :). I was in a situation like this several years ago. Same type of scenario. I later found out that the guy used all made up info for himself and was actually married (separated). He was using me to try to get over his wife and was just squirrely. They ended up getting back together and I never heard from him again, but that was quite a roller coaster for me. Blessings to you. You'll find the love of your life, Kandy. Just wait for it.

I went through the same thing with several men online. I really dont understand what pleasure they get from doing this. I always advise people to meet up for real ASAP rather than chat online for weeks/months. You can build up an imaginary relationship which they seem to enjoy encouraging. Dont give up - there are decent men out there xxx
