I took the seat out and disassembled it part way, and found a broken wire to the lower back heater grid on the driver seat. Wire was broken right at lowest part of the back rest where it attached to the heater grid. Soldered the wires back together and adjusted the wire routing a little.
Did you ever end up fixing the problem? i have the same issue on a 2012 and cant seem to find a replacement element for the seat cushion

Oh, and you can find generic seat heat grids, but try to match the resistance of the factory seat heat grids if you can.
