Mushrooms containing psilocybin saved my life. They aided my benzodiazepine withdrawal allowing me to quit illicit pill addiction after three years of heavy daily use before it would’ve become medically dangerous to quit. It has also helped me survive depression.

Psychedelics are the reason why i didn’t take my life when i was at my end. I was stripped of my ego and saw the beauty of life and interconnectivity and even though i still battle anxiety and depression, I’m doing better everyday and will never think in such a self destructive way again.

LSD and mushrooms completely changed my whole outlook on life. I became a better version of myself
This experience gave me a lot of confidence about my self and my body. A bunch of bad thought / behavior patterns were broken. One of these was pretty bad OCD that made me wash my hands a lot. It gave me a lot of hope that things will be fine, this is the one thing that I heard throughout the trip: Everything is alright. The main reason for the trip was my severe depression and it definitely helped me (although it's not gone). Before all I could do was lay in bed. Now I am trying to rebuild my life one step at a time which wasn't possible before."

      Don’t legalize it.
Humans will find a way to exploit it, rape it, over cultivate it, create strands or versions of it that are manufactured and industrial, eventually ridding it of its symbolic, ritualistic, and religious status.
It’s fine as it is now. It’s taken care of and preserved by the certain Native American tribes where it is respected under the 1st Amendment.
As for everybody else, go find another way to heal your internal struggles. There are other methods, not just peyote.

No one wants to help anymore, but maybe these researchers can start the discussion. So HURRY UP!! I am waiting!!😁

The open-mindedness of this segment is refreshing. Personally, I don't know if use of peyote broadens one's perspective and heals the body & mind. But I don't know that it doesn't, either. I used hallucinogens several times as a teenager, and in my 30's my IQ tested at the 99.6 percentile. (WAIS-R, circa 1995) Who's to say there wasn't a connection?

Great insight! Some people want to exert power by controlling the language. Visionary is much better. I have also come to use the word entheogen- plant avatars that were teachers to our ancestors and lead them within to find beauty, inspiration, and the divinity that underlies all. ''Controlled substances''-these are words from deluded people who only worship power. They have caused much trouble and their time is ending as we all wake up.
