At 70, smoke weed for 44 years. Younger than others my age.
Similarly, at 65, I've smoked weed for 49 years. Younger than others my age. Never drank alcohol or smoked tobacco. My drinking and tobacco smoking friends from high school are all dead. Not sure if smoking pot is the reason but it's really reduced the effect of stress in my life.
@@lockman004 same. 55 and I never get sick either. I used to get sick when I was younger but the older I get the less I got sick until it appears I've just stopped getting seriously sick. Two people living in my household tested positive for COVID, so I just assumed I was an asymptomatic spreader and got vaccinated because I try to be socially responsible. Its because we live a lower stress life. If I could escape to a tropical beach for a walk three nights a week, to decompress, I would. Instead I eat a half bag of gummies and forget about the bullshit.
I'm 60 and regularly encounter disbelief from medical staff who check my date of birth to confirm my age.
I have a good physice as well and women my age just don't wanna be with a guy that looks 30 years younger but isn't!

It's amazing the scrutiny we put cannabis through.
Not enough yet though. We need to remove it from schedule 1 drugs so we can do more research on it.
This is great news and I volunteer to be in the research! Started using it for pain last year at the age of 58 and am pissed I didn't find it sooner.

I discovered it’s benefits at 52. I felt the same way for the longest time. I was angry that we’ve been lied to all these years. The benefits it gives me are things that could have changed my life for the better decades ago. Better late than never I guess.

Unfortunately progression of the cannabis industry is like progression of cancer--it will kill you.
I still feel guilty when i smoke it .But ive been smoking it off and on all my life since 6th grade im retired now.I go years without it mostly becuase i couldnt find it easily.Now its legal and few hits im good .Have not smoked for a few weeks now but i have some bud and preroll in the garage.

I used to be a regular user of cannabis for years, I gave it up for over a decade, I’m 51 now and take a 1 hitter every 3-4 days and it helps my anxiety, depression and it triggers my creativity in a major way as I have taken up playing guitar and bass and composing songs as well as drawing and sculpting when I consume it nowadays. I think the key is to not consume much and to not consume everyday, at least IMO. I’d love to see more research on this. Lastly I’d like to warn everyone about Hemp based CBD products, due to it being Hemp and not cannibus it Does Not contain any real CBD, it’s also the reason you’ll see it legally for sale in states that canibus isn’t legalized, it’s deceptive marketing and any relief is due to placebo effect

Research is a fantastic tool. We can uncover all kinds of information by using it.
Too many people claim they researched something when all they really did was dig though mountains of evidence until they found one or two nuggets that support their preconceived idea. This isn't research; it's cherry picking.

@@Egzoset Haha No, it's just the name of the strain. I smoke it but you can gently heat (decarboxylate) it in the oven and make edibles from it too. I find eating weed to give more 'drunk' effects, but if you eat a little bit just before bed you can avoid this and just get the solid sleep. I've personally found this strain to be the best for sleep.
I suppose big pharm is ready to mess up the weed.

@@mcozy333 I know this, but there are so, so many studies about things that work amazingly in mice, but do nothing, or are harmful in humans. I am not saying that this will not work in people, but it needs research in humans. Ask any researcher in biomedical science this, and they will tell you that mice do not equal humans. Sure, they are similar enough to make very useful models, but there is a fair bit of difference between a 20 gram mouse and a 150 pound human.
I work on multiple sclerosis; mice can get demyelination if you make them artificially, but they recover. Humans with MS don't recover from demyelination. We have cured "MS" a bunch in mice, and yet we still have no cure for it in humans.

( cb knock out mice) ... research shows how important cannabinoids and the receptors are for cells ... we can certainly make generalizations but do need actual human cells under the microscope to make the best determinations etc... even a microscope will not suffice, cannabinoids are way to small ... we needed radio labeling of the isotopes and isoforms to even begin cannabinoid science or to See it
@@mcozy333 There are actually labs studying the way that human endocannabanoids function in neurons. I would reccomend checking out induced pluripotent stem cells, researchers can take a blood or skin sample from an adult (or a kid, but an already born person) and "deprogram" it into a stem cell, then encourage it to differentiate into different cell types. So we can now grow human neurons in a dish from essentially any type of person, whether they have a genetic disease or some other disorder, in a very non-invasive way. Which is good, since I can think of very few people who will donate brain cells.
They way they are studied is often by measuring the electrical activity of the individual cells with very small recording devices, or by using immunocytochemistry to label specific proteins so they can be visualized with a microscope.

The complication is that most people will regularly take more than the micro dose of THC. To escape, to get high, instead of just the micro dose.

I'm not convinced the "low doses" didn't make the mice high... how would they know if a mouse is feeling a buzz or not... AND if I only need 2 milligrams of THC oil to get on a buzz as a 80 KG human and they have pure medical grade THC... what exactly would a micro-dose be to a mouse... 0.2 picograms... is it even possible to administer that accurately...?
I've seen an experiment where scientists proved THC reduces trauma in rats (look it up).
As well as being more physically relaxed and mentally stimulated, these old timer THC mice were probably also less panicked and maybe even having more fun in the swimming maze situation they found themselves in...
Canada should be at the front of medical cannabis research of this nature!
Synthetic THC doesn't have all of the other cannabinoids, so imagine how effective actual cannabis is compared to synthetic.
pharma cannot measure accuracy of whole plants being metabolized .. they can however measure single molecule drugs that are metabolized

I don't know. As long as Cannabis is illegal federally we can't get it properly tested by the FDA.

Been dosing - hand made wee little cakes for over 3 years. Equp: Magical Butter Machine/use coconut oil after decarbing the weed. Cook in machine 2 hours a voila enough oil for months to make my delicious bites using Trader Joe Banana bread mix, + other nutritious stuff - bake - cut into squares - freeze and use- I use every day - usually add plain muffin mix for double batch,- there's satisfaction in taking care of myself as a bonus.

I occasionally use CBD for pain relief but it’s better to use it every day. It’s just too expensive. The medicinal CBD could be cheaper.
