My snap on scan tool says keyless entry antenna 3 performance short circuited , can that mean the receiver is no good ?

I tried the aftermarket sensors on my 2018 Ram 2500, and the module would not accept them. I had to go with the OEM, which was very expensive, but fixed the problem. Now I have front sensor fault. The cheap OBD2 reader did not even pull the codes, even though the dash display says service front sensors. What a hassle.

Yea, it seems to be a coin toss if aftermarket sensors will work from what I've read 😓

2016 3500. Message says Service Park Sensors. I only have them on the rear bumper. Changed all 4 with new ones from Amazon. Still didn't fix it. Bad harness? Bad control module? I'm sure not taking it to the dealer and pay a ridiculous amount. I'll back up the old fashioned way. I'll use me eyes. LOL

Interesting. Good place to start is have the module scanned to see what codes are stored. Knowing someone with a scanner would be nice. Also visually inspect the wiring and connectors in the rear looking for damage or corrosion and lastly check all your fuses inside cab and underhood. The owners manual will show you the locations.

I have a 2012 ram 1500 bighorn and I have the "service park assist" notification. I replaced all 4 sensors 2 times from Amazon, turns out both sets didn't work. I bought an expensive code reader and used ALPHAOBD to scan the original oem sensors. The fault that comes up is: Sensor supply voltage - voltage below threshhold. Any idea what needs to be replaced?

@@benwalker6971 May have one sensor shorting supply voltage.
      1. Disconnect one park aid sensor
      2. Turn ignition on without starting engine
      3. Place transmission in reverse
      4. With scan tool, read park assist module dtc's. If this dtc is still active, repeat this procedure by disconnecting another part assist sensor.
Replace the park assist sensor that caused this dtc to change from active to stored after disconnecting.
If dtc stays active after disconnecting all sensors then plug all sensors back in, check sensor supply voltage on pin #1 GRY/ORG at each sensor. Voltage should be a little over 7 volts.
Next, check TIPM underhood fuse 10A M34 for 12V & park assist module ground pin 11

Depending on the year, some rams can be deactivated by pressing the buttons on the panel below the uconnect console. As far a completely disabling system, I don't know if the parktronics can be programmed out?

Yuck. Maybe unplug one at a time and check operation. It could be one of the new sensors is bad and shorting out the system.

Unfortunately it will require factory software. Ram 2500 and 3500 pick-up trucks equipped with park assist (sales code XAA) can have the park assist
disabled in situations where the rear bumper (with sensors) has been removed or the permanent up fit
interferes with the park assist sensors’ “view.” This procedure will require taking the vehicle to a
Chrysler dealer after the up fit has been performed. This service call will not be covered under warranty.
      Dealer charges may apply.
The dealer will first disconnect the
Parktronics module then reconfigured the vehicle. The Parktronics module is located behind the driver’s
kick panel. Once the module is disconnected, the vehicle can be reconfigured using the RESTORE
      VEHICLE CONFIGURATION routine in WITECH.

I have 2022 ram promaster. 3 months old. Disconnected 2 of four front sensors to relocate. When plugged in get message dash says front parksense unavailable, service required. Checked connections, look ok. Removed neg battery term and put back on see of it clears but same message. Any thoughts? Ty

At least it's in warranty. The first think that needs to be done is have the module scanned for codes and it will be done no charge at your dealer. I am not aware of any parksense recalls on these.

What's the deal with your parts department ordering from Amazon--is that common?

    • @raincitywrench117
      @raincitywrench117  4 роки тому +3

This vehicle was a trade in and belongs to sales. They will do whatever it takes to save costs on parts and labor + our parts department is Ford only. They originally were going to get parts from dodge but I told them they should order on amazon. I think you can get all four for around 40 bucks and the dealer would probably want twice that or more for just one.

    • @raincitywrench117

I know right? It didn't look all rusted out underneath. I don't know the history but i'm guessing one went out and then after a few weeks or months another, etc. etc. That happens with tire pressure sensors.

@@adp33 Wow! Dealer markup is a ripoff. Our parts department quoted the sales department around 700 dollars I believe. Did a quick search and found a set on Amazon for like 65 bucks so I called up the sales manager and they ordered. My coworker installed the new sensors and worked like a champ. I found the best way to check sensors is hold your phone mic real close to each sensor in a video and play back to see if any click.
