A thing to maybe consider or remember about this clip and show; it was done in a time where people were less sensitive or rather were willing to have a laugh without getting up in arms about the matter. Its part of why Achmed was introduced in this show. Even though he did cause a bit of a controversy; one that Jeff avoided only by saying Achmes really wasn't Islamic.
Pretty funny when many of the people who talk about being "less sensitive" are the ones who get upset over less sexy shoes drawn on a cartoon candy advertisement, Barbie dolls, tan suits, ice cream, a black woman (who is a trained flautist) playing a historical flute, etc. etc. etc. etc. etc.

My mom told me when she was young, she was learning Spanish from some other kids she knew. Her brother asked her how to say “how old are you” in Spanish, and she told him “quantos años tiene usted.” He said "Ok, so quantos means how, años means old, tiene means are, and usted means you.” Well, he had one out of four right. She told him “No, quantos means how many, años means years, tiene means have, and usted means you. So it translates to ‘how many years do you have’.” He got upset because he didn’t want to ask ‘how many years do you have’. He wanted to ask ‘how old are you’. He felt sorry for them because they couldn’t ask that. I think he was about 8, and she was in her teens.

I love this, I was homeschooled when I was little. My mom would always ask me every year if I wanted to go to school but I was like nope, I wanted to stay with homeschooling. I didn't miss out being with kids, because there were a lot of kids where I lived and I did dance classes. So I was with kids and had friends. Best of luck with homeschooling your daughter and if you have any others. 😊 Oh I would love it if you reacted to Jeff and Achmed meeting his son, its sooo funny!

I agree with you on principle but.....almost all humor is based in truth. And to tell you the truth, as long as he's playing with everyone and we're all on the field equally it's funny. He calls the "offensive" character out very calmly--which is something we could learn from. I agree though, it's a fine line.
