Despite getting a lot of Canadian shows back home, I never seen let alone heard of Freaky Stories, but just seeing Larry and Maurice and I fell in love. I am a sucker for puppetry and animatronics and I wish they got their own spin off. Glad they were both preserved in Steve's place!
I think I'll definitely give the show a watch once Halloween rolls because it seems appropriate for the time. I don't like horror in particular but I will definitely give it a go.
Thanks again for the coverage man! Your videos just keep getting better and better!

I'm super glad this won ya over! And while I wouldn't necessarily put this show solely in the "horror" genre, it does fit the vibes of Halloween perfectly - the kinda vibes of "not scary, but more spooky", which is my preferred vibe for Halloween stuff.
And as always, I'm humbled by the compliments - I'll try to keep on improving!

Hey, awesome episode. I worked for Paul Jones Effects Studio back then and was part of the crew who built Larry and Maurice for the series. I built, painted, made the methacellulous slime for Maurice and even was an on set puppet assistant. We built the full sized puppets, small ones and tiny mini figures. I still have castings of the minis.
Thanks for bringing back so many memories. It would be great to see Steve and the puppets again.

This show was my absolute favourite to watch on YTV as a kid! This and Goosebumps were the two shows that gave me the most interest in stories that gave you the chills. Larry and Maurice are two big pieces of my childhood that it's cool to see their puppets are still in good shape! As much as I'd love for a revival or even a reunion episode, I can't help but respect Steve's wishes to leave it be. Easily a top 10 childhood show in my books, and also good job on this mini documentary!

i only remember 1 story of this show but i remember decently well
there was a couple who moved into a new house i think it belonged to an old pirate or something or maybe it was made from his ship? either way found an old wine cellar and in it a keg of pretty good wine. so every celebration they'd have a little more wind till they eventually ran out. so the next day they prepare to throw the barrel out but found it was still pretty heavy. so thye open it and the episode ends on the pirate's body crouched int the barrel.
