Thank you for posting the review on your review. Excellent breakdown of what to expect in the new expansion. Off-topic but are you pumped for the new ck3 expansion?
Thank you so much! I'm definitely excited for it, I really wonder how it's going to be playing Byzantium now, which has definitely needed a revamp for a while!
I hope you could help me. As a fellow Norwegian, I would really enjoy learning Norway in Vicky 3. However, even still there are barely any guides on the internett, and so my runs always end after 10-20 years. Youve played Norway in the background of many videoes, is it possible to get an aproximation of your strategy?
My fellow Norwegian! My strategy was to focus military technology, build up the army as much as possible, try to become relatively self-sufficient (difficult, but focus first on building farms etc to feed your people for a higher standard of living, plus they dont take that long to build). Then once war with Sweden breaks out, defend as much as you can in the mountains, do not go on the offensive until you've depleted the Swedes' morale/supply/reinforcement. Defending those mountains is the key!
Am I missing something about the game? I have never played Victoria 3, although I hope to soon be able to do so. In my view, my strategy would simply be to have great relations with all other powers, focus on a buoyant economy by going into industries where there is a lot of global demand as opposed to a strategy of self sufficiency, and lastly focus on military strength by being one of the foremost nations in military technology. Does this strategy not work?
@@David-io9lpthe AI in this patch is pretty aggressive, they will sniff out weaknesses and exploit it. I was playing tall as Prussia and I was trying to pass a law that angered the landowners, who had no army. But then Austria backed them and I had to defend against one of the greatest military power in the world at that time and lost the game
The only thing insane about this is it took them this long to even begin to address the completely broken economy on release. Previously all the game had was a command economy (i.e. socialism/communism). From your review it looks that at least some of that has been addressed. All they needed to do was copy the system in Vic 2 and it would have been excellent with the eye candy updates. Curious to see how this overpriced patch (not a dlc, should be a free fix for an unfinished game on release) actually works in detail.
The UI in this game at the moment is absolutely awful. Pop ups everywhere and you feel like you aren't in control of anything. Compared to EU4 and HOI4, which have almost perfect UI's, this game has a long way to go and I have no doubt it will improve.
I never thought funding political lobbies would be THIS much fun! Get the DLC right here: play.victoria3game.com/AndysParadox
So, this is basically the Stellaris "Federations" DLC equivalent :D. Looking forward for the inevitable WW1 DLC.
Haha WWI DLC sounds neat indeed… who’s gonna be your first country for this DLC?
@@AndysParadox Propably Britain, never played for it yet.
@@ShepardCZ awesome, good luck fighting Russia in the Great Game! :D
yea, i also cant wait for an event that is absolutely crucial to the history of the game to be behind a 30 euro paywall...

Kind of off topic but the Victoria 3 soundtrack is so good
It is amazing, just like the soundtrack of any PDX game honestly.

Vicky 3 is looking a lot better than at launch 😊 really glad that they haven't just abandoned the game. Thanks for sharing with us Andy!
Thanks for watching, Chel! :)
As a new paradox player I find this game utterly
Brilliant

Exactly, this gives so many new options for more peaceful playthroughs!
You don't get the resources. You just generate money, when you do investments.
@@AndysParadox Its not correct in your video. You generate dividends, but not the resources.
So hyped about to try it out now! Great video as always Andy!
Thank you so much, my friend! Let me know what you think of it! :)
Time to sink another 200 hours into this game
I'm with you, torrent (Elden Ring or Captain Jack Sparrow reference?)!

Nice video, this patch/DLC seems amazing, i will definitly play another run (probably as belgium to get a hang of these changes)
Thank you so much :) Belgium sounds like a good first run!
Good overview Andy! Looking forward to starting a new playthrough with Persia and breaking the Great Game
Thank you so much! Yes, I'm hyped for a Persia playthrough as well, an excellent geographical position with a lot more flavour now!
Great guide, these changes look good
thank you, my friend :) the changes are great!
i just wish they would make the military system kind of like victoria 2
I personally love this!

For me I would love them to add more detail In it similar to hearts of iron It would be perfect. I generally favor upon the Frontline system.
we're so down ty pdx

I agree, I've noticed how bad the UI is once I've realized that I'm more excited on UI and UX updates than most other things
In other news, I still have no idea how to play this game.
Yay Video, First!
You did it! 🎉

Spheres looks nice, but I still despise Victoria 3's warfare system.
How come?
