  • Rain-X 2in1 Glass Cleaner REVIEW. I have a smearing greasy windscreen thats driving me CRAZY !. The wipers are fairly new and not missing. A quick test of this Rain-X 2in1 Glass Cleaner to find out if it works.
    Bought here. www.amazon.co....
    Cleans automotive glass to a streak-free shine
    Repels rain by causing water to bead up and roll away
    Fast and easy to use - just spray on and wipe away with no buffing required
    Helps prevent and remove sleet, snow, ice, bugs, and road spray from sticking to glass
    2-in-1 product, enhances driving visibility
    During the harsh winter months with excessive rain, snow and ice the product will quite obviously not last as long as it does during the summer and will need to be re-applied more frequently

    I used original Rain-X while truck driving in rainy Iceland, applying it to the side mirrors as well. After cleaning the windshield and wipers with White Spirit, I applied three layers of Rain-X, and it worked great.

    My only suggestion is next time you run out of wiper fluid, throw in half a litre of warm water flush it out and try switching screen wash brands. I've had simular issues with aldi screen wash before. Normally just pickup the concentrate these days online.
    I need to try out polishing/buffing my glass, always wondering if that makes a difference! Appreciate little update videos like this, little tricks in life are always a winner.

    The kids used to like watching the raindrops going upwards. We were easily pleased in those days!

    Great demo I've used waterless car detailer for inside and out the on car glass stops fogging up on inside and repels on the outside plus some brands have a good smell 👍

    A lot of that smearing comes from wax in car shampoo. Handy to know cheers Fred 🍻👍

    Used this for years and works well. I compliment it with unipart screen wash with added rain repellent

    I've used the orginal RainX & within 2 days drive through 9 hours of rainy driving without needing windsheild wipers.
    Wonderful experience!!

      Hi. Good question. CT318 (mobile) has been off the radio for a few years now. I am not sure that he still works in Hemel Hempstead. His also gone quite on YT. Maybe he married Debs and has moved away ?

    Rain-x works best while driving as the water gets pushed back up the wind screen. Your wipers blades as the cause of the smearing maybe change them out for a branded type they are cheap to replace. I just do mines every year as part of the service.

    Also try cleaning your wipers with acetone or something thats more rubber friendly.

    Once you wash your windscreen polish it with a little furniture polish or £shop multi surface polish spray.. Last about two weeks.... Your just filling in the "canyons" in the glass..

    You may have an oil or coolant leak causing that. Check your hoses, caps, dipstick and gaskets while at operating temperature.

    RainX is awesome, about 50mph in the rain you don't even need to turn your wipers on 😅

      Hit 40 mph and it's like going into warpspeed 😁

    the drag you are getting is PU rubber friction caused by soft rubber and cold glass

    • @CB-RADIO-UK
      @CB-RADIO-UK  15 днів тому

      The wipers were not so much dragging but creating an oily film.

    • @AW-Services
      @AW-Services 15 днів тому

      @CB-RADIO-UK I would say you have rubber contamination, which can happen with manufacturing and sometimes caused by protective vehicle spraying that's done to ship cars abroad. Wipe the rubber with some high percentage isopropyl

  • @iblackfeathers

    good advice.
    the pollutants causing that film on windshields are often nonpolar, making them hard to remove. oils and grease are nonpolar while water is more polar. this makes them hard to grab the dirt when rinsing. soaps are like a mediator that attaches the nonpolar dirt with polar water, ideal for cleaning. having a spray bottle with soapy water and glass cleaner in your car might be useful. but the rainx is great that it leaves a protective coating without having to bring anything with you.
    there's talks in auto detailing about beading vs sheeting. newer ceramic coatings prefer sheeting of water to avoid waterspots while more traditional use of wax prefers beading of water that demonstrates the coating is doing its job. i think the beading is a better visual indicator here for when you need to reapply.

    It infects your glass and flakes away and you can never get rid of it so have to apply more. Also in some use cases can cause really bad glare. Hate it

    Hi Fred. I have seen a few videos regarding this product, and apparently, when driving on a motorway or high speed drives, for example, 40+ mph or more, then the rain disperses/beads away immediately without using your wipers!
    Have you tried it on a motorway and what are your thoughts?
    Have a great Xmas and a great 2025
