I think the original was a good laugh. For one thing I'm pretty sure the guy didn't expect people to actually fund it; it was just a joke. The copycats though... Yeah they saw how much money people gave that guy.

I think it would be even better if the 'original' guy who made it actually saw another kickstarter thing just as generic as that, but only made like say $50-100 and no one really mentioned it. Then he was like heeeyyyyy, made potato salad and got 30 grand lol

I don't really have a problem with the original potato salad guy. He just did it as a joke and it took off and he used the money to make a potato salad convention or party thing. Not as much of a cash grab as these guys/

Why not do a segment called "youtube crap"? Where you feature videos that follow the potato salad theory. For example, one person makes a helping the homeless video and goes viral. Next thing you know everyone is making a"helping the Homeless" video. Not because it's the humane thing to do, but for their own selfish reasons of trying to go viral, getting views, or getting recognition.
