It pisses me off that 'non-GMO' is apparently a selling point for a restaurant when a) GMOs have never been proven by an objective study to be directly harmful to health and b) the American consumer has already been eating GM foods for decades at this point.

Actually there was a Scottish research if I remember correctly that did so but that was quickly killed off by the industry. GMO companies are funding all the universities so naturally, there is no research to show how they're harmful.

You're just a naive child thinking there is some order and higher meaning here and that universities actually are in it for education and not profits. All universities get a cut from inventions and also run huge funds with stakes in the companies, naturally any research that would damage their ROI is unlikely.
