Side tables really are superior to coffee tables. IDK who's been lobbying for Big Coffee Table, but the humble, more practical side table deserves its champions.
I don't understand coffee tables either. I much prefer side tables. Whenever I need to place a drink on a coffee table it's never convenient. Plus, a side table can easily be moved around and can work like a TV tray if you have snacks.
Side tables feel more luxurious too because you don't have to lean to put your drink down, you just bend your arm. Coffee tables are for decor, to me, and are totally optional. They look good i think in a bigger space, otherwise you have like a huge void between couches maybe. But in a smaller room, side tables are definitely It
Exactly! Also, I want to be able to use the space of my living room without moving a big ass table. How’s a girl supposed to play just dance if she’s got a whole coffee table hogging the room? Not to mention the amount of stubbed toes coffee tables have caused me. I think we can simply move on from them as a society.

I love that you aren't saying this HAS to be the style goal, you're just teaching us how to do it if it IS our style goal. My room is a matchbox, with no closet, and also doubles as my office/studio, so I have to have my desk and a bunch of art supplies crammed into one corner. Because of this I try to make the rest of the room less cluttered and feel nicer. It's a challenge but this video is helping!
100% this👆👆 I wanted to be really clear that people didn’t miss this point in the intro the video. Luxury is not always my goal, any more than “moody” is always my goal. But in the event that luxury DOES happen to be the goal, I hope this video helps! Even in a small space, you can get closer to your vision than you think!
I'm in the same sitch and like, YES. I have a murphy bed that is also my desk. The cute boho clutter goes on the desk - when it's in bed mode, the desk goes away . BOOM now we're in a sophisticated bedroom. also setting up the bed so it faces the wall with one large framed canvas instead of the eclectic bookshelf helps a lot
I think this can actually be really effective. If you isolate the clutter to a specific small space in the room, but the rest of the room is uncluttered, the clutter can kind of meld together and look like a single cohesive thing, rather than like a bunch of different unrelated things. If you can put some kind of visual frame or border around the space (like curtains, or a room divider, or by having wallpaper just in that space, or by putting it into a nook, etc.), it is particularly effective - like how a bookshelf stuffed full of books still looks like a single unit rather than a mess of books. Basically, trick your eye into seeing the clutter as a single silhouette with some texture.
wait wait waittttt here’s a concept: video on how to make a rental / shorter term stay feel like your own space like decorating but without being wasteful 🫶 (pls i need this I’m living in Florence for 6 months in an apartment and wanna make it feel more like home)
I was living in a different city for short term and the biggest thing i noticed was I was missing my regular comforts. So I was missing my soft blankets and my candles and little things like that. I didn’t really care about decoration… and I am a very aesthetic-focused person. So i highly recommend you either pack or buy (buying is a nice memory) those items you use daily even if they seem trivial - it will make a difference in feeling homesick or not. As I said, for me it was my soft blanket, a good smelling candle, cute vibey lighting (i had a plug in mini lava lamp) and a bowl I liked eating out of. I would add for you - good sheets and towels, your skincare, and a place to put your keys to build habits. Within a week of being there I was struggling mentally, so I bought the items above and felt instantly better for the rest of the time. It’s the small things that matter
Wait, wait, what?!? You’re gonna live in Florence, Italy, for 6 months? Who needs a rental?! I’d go there and happily sleep under a bridge. 😂 I envy you. It’s such a magical city. I hope you’ll have a wonderful, unforgettable time.
This surprised me! For me, luxurious is #1 my bed. Never cheap out on your bed or its accessories. I need the best mattress I can afford, a mattress topper, two high end mattress covers, three sets of very luxurious sheets (one on the bed, one ready to use on sheet-changing day which is way more often than most people seem to do that, and a third in case of disaster), super fabulous blankets or comforters or whatever you prefer (that Scandinavian two-comforters overlapping is the only way for us since I learned of it = no blanket hogging), excellent pillows, and some beautiful bed cover. We have dogs so I found those Indian cotton hippie coverlets things are incredible because I can put a clean one on the bed daily. I buy good laundry detergent and scent, too. It’s all an investment, but when we get into bed for 8 hours of sleep, it’s luxury. The angels sing. Towels and bathroom products come next. Luxurious towels and fancy soap. Every bath or shower is a spa moment. The last REQUIREMENT is decent cookware - an investment for sure, and >decent flatware and glassware. I don’t care about the dishes . Paper, even. But don’t give me cheap flatware or thick Walmart glassware. Or make me cook with cheap pots and pans. Almost everything else I can fake or faux. In our home we eat, bathe, and sleep. Luxury is wonderful for those things. (Quality sound system is also key. Invest in good audio.) 🌟
I applaud your ability to blend opulence with practicality creating stunning spaces that exude elegance and sophistication without breaking the bank. I also love the energy you always bring to your videos.
oh im so glad to hear that! i personally insist on a very *livable* space. i dont like things feeling like a museum. BUT i think there's also a way to balance that with a refined feeling! most of designing your home will be mixing various *vibes* this way!
I have some mental health issues, and your videos always put a giant smile on my face for longer than 5 minutes; it feels like sunshine. Thank you for being you.
So many good design tips. As someone without a lot of money, I heartily second the idea of spending more on your small items. I can’t drop 3 grand on the couch of my dreams, but I can spend $30 on a small decorative piece that makes me feel rich every time I see/touch it. I can buy a shower curtain that transforms my basic bathroom into an oasis. I can buy a luxurious piece of clearance fabric that I can use to drape over ugly second hand stands, or turn into curtains. And on the plus side, if you’re intentional about those items, they’re little pieces of luxury that often work in many different spaces and are easy to take with you on moves, which is something a perpetual mover like myself really appreciates.
Id love to see a closet organization video from you. I feel like it’d be fun and relatable. Not a rainbow plastic bin show room that no one actually can maintain and use. Ps this was such a fun vibe! Loved this topic! Want to see more stuff like this but I enjoy the vlog and chat stuff too.
You know what’s way better than a coffee table?? An ottoman. I don’t know why people even own coffee tables, they’re toe stubbing hard uggos in the middle of the room. Ottomans are cozy sweet little soft additions to a livingroom. Plus they can act as additional seating!? Amazing. Ok thanks I’m done my rant 🤗
“When you’re playing doll house in your own home” 🤯🏠 that just blew my mind. I don’t think I’ll ever look at home decor in the same way. I would pretend I was Thumbelina when I was a kid because I loved small things so much. This is like a revelation for my brain.
On the note of don't get weirdly small furniture for a small space, also don't get weirdly large furniture for a large space!! Normal-sized furniture is preferred! Don't fill a large living room with bloated, giant-sized couches. Just break up the space into separate areas. I think it was also Rita Konig who I learned this from haha
I not only enjoy your videos, I enjoy reading all the comments too. Your sophisticated style just proves what I've said before: you're an old soul, wise beyond your years. This old lady loves your aesthetic; you're adorable and Oh, so smart.
I love that I am not in a rush to “finish” any space in my home. I don’t think I will ever buy any expensive small piece or expensive lamp, any expensive anything. I find luxurious, high quality pieces while thrifting all the time and am slowly making my house a home. ☺️ These are great tips cause now I can pin and manifest these items on my thrift trips. 🥰
I think you are funny, quirky and not afraid to show your mistakes. Also, I like the way you cover so many different subjects. Just plain fun and interesting to watch your videos!
I was watching a show that tours the most expensive houses around the country and was shocked at how bad the interiors were! No art, and beige, beige, beige! I would be so depressed!
I TOTALLY get it. One of my favorite little luxuries is a porcelain ring box beside my bed that I keep filled with vaseline for my always chapped lips. It makes me happy every time I use it. @@Caroline_Winkler
Right angles are the venereal disease of interior design... cracked me up. You're good! You're the only person I consistently watch on UA-cam and I really feel your design ideas help. Thank you.
I love all your tips! Adding tips just for fun: use natural materials (hand made/artisan) as much as possible. Swap out plastic cooking utensils for wood/metal. Real cotton or linen vs polyester for curtains. Ceramic bowls vs plastic ect ect the list goes on! Thrift stores are great and farmers markets very affordable.
When I was a child, I spent hours rearranging furniture in my dollhouse. Now, as an adult, I rearrange the furniture in my house about once a month and I love doing it. Until this video, I never consciously made the obvious connection. Thanks for making this video.
something that adds luxury for me is removing regular drawer tracks and getting soft close ones. it's the same cheap furniture, it's just nicer to use and doesn't sound weird when i use it.
"Luxury" is a term used in economics, and it usually carries negative connotations - those of void, empty splurge and licentiousness. Your definition of "luxurious" ties in more with what I would call "elegant". "Elegance" is a concept in aesthetics, which we all have heard, but it's difficult to describe. Well, you just did, magnificently: elegance is making every single element in a system, have a specific purpose, be intentional, and in a streamlined fashion. I like to refer to elegance as "beauty in efficiency". I subscribed within five minutes of listening to you. Love your sense of humor, sardonic, self-aware, clever.
Interior design videos is basically ALL i watch on UA-cam. All day. Every day. THIS video is probably one of THE BEST advice reels I've ever seen. You rock!
What a perfection of a video...Very impressed with the convincing power of taking down the art piece and the duster. Your videos are so rich. Your personality is rich. I love how educational your content is.
Caroline, you rock my socks off. Your content is truly the best online discovery I have made since I started watching UA-cam in 2007. THANK YOU FOR SHARING YOUR TIPS!!!
Caroline, *you* are the reason I'm even letting my mind entertain the thought of decorating my rental space after almost 10 years hopping around "waiting rooms" and living among white, off-white, and grey walls. Been looking at opulent accent wallpapers for my °cupboard under the stairs° lately ♡ Thank you!!! Also... OMG the sacred doll items, I feel it! Also, also! What do you mean I don't need to store my earplugs scattered under my pillowcase?! 😅 OK, back to watching ^^
Wow yeah, our "waiting room" apartments in the "meantime" until something better is such a good point. The meantime IS your lifetime. have fun decorating!
ahh! im so excited you're going for it! it's just stuff, and it's all an experiment. start with things that you can move around and experiment with! you'll do great. so much of the "figuring out" has to happen once you get in there and start moving things around. and for the record, my pillowcases house tens of ear plugs. they are little treats to find when i make my bed. so youre not alone :)
I had a friend tell me long ago that she didnt bother to put anything up in her apartment because she didnt plan to be there long. Eight years later, she finally did!
As a much older woman myself, I think it's kind of funny that she said that too much stuff and knickknacks looks really young and having less stuff looks more sophisticated. But then said her wall with a sconce and painting reminds her of playing with dolls. Young people are so funny and I mean that in a nice way. Not getting too serious about your home is definitely what makes a home wonderful and unique. Trying to make it look like something in order to show off to guests/audiences/neighbors/etc will only lead to unhappiness.
This is probably my most favourite of all of your videos. I love the aesthetic of your place, but now I understand how you accomplished it. LOVE IT!!! ❤❤❤😊❤❤❤
Lilac (my Soul mate in color form), patent-leather Mary-Janes are effectively my dream shoes. Those were DIVINE shoes that I now feel I must purchase 🖤
I have a dark little hallway. I tried for years to “lighten and brighten” and failed…so I gave in, painted it navy blue and hung all my artwork in it. (Tons of oils. Also lots of gilt frames.) Sometimes you need to sand with the grain of the wood.
Whenever you use recognisable music tracks, I sit here worrying that you're not going to be able to monetise the video and that your genius will be all for naught 😅
i love it when you include visual examples of the tips you suggest!! seeing how the same concept can be applied through different styles is so helpful.
Caroline!! I dont normally comment on videos because I overthink lol, but I just lostened to the podcast episode where you talked about getting hate for your fool's journey to love and I felt compelled to say I LOVED those videos. Felicity's "pot" is a bed warmer. 😊 I love this. You shifted my views on minimizing. I love the idea of raising something's value or esteem by letting it stand alone. Luxury, baby.
I’m finding as I get older I want to pare down what I have. Collections are fine but there are usually one or two pieces in a collection that are truly special. I find I want to highlight those instead of letting them get lost in the crowd. You are so right, things do feel sacred when set forth as special.
VIDEO IDEA - I’m moving soon into a much larger space and would love a video with tips on how to choose how to fill a space especially when you don’t want to just act quickly to fill the space!
This is what I've been struggling with. I was always a major city girl living in apartments, but suddenly (long story) I was thrust into a 3 story townhouse in a tiny river town. Iregardless of decor simply learning how i function and live in a larger space has been quite the adjustment.
This is fantastic! For us hoarders out there who don’t want to part with anything, I think rotating objects is a great idea. I like the Feng Shui rule of 27 things.
I love how accessible your advice is. My grandmother used to buy houses, redo them, decorate them herself, then sell them with furniture and decorations included. All her furniture came from flee markets and second hand stores. I asked how she got all the mis-matched items to match and look intentional. She said her biggest secret was to carry things over to different parts of the room/house. For example, you can have different types of wood in the same room as long as they don’t exist in isolation. If a side table is one type of wood, buy frames made of the same type of wood and hang them up elsewhere to carry the visual over. This is probably very basic designer advice, but it blew my mind when I was younger. When I also asked how she learned to redo furniture and floors and such, she said, “When you HAVE to do something, you figure it out.” This line has helped calm some of my general anxiety about life crap. If it needs done, I’ll figure it out. Knowing she had that sort of fortitude and perseverance inspired me to be braver about trying things and experimenting rather than assuming I had to wait for some magical day when I had all the knowledge to accomplish it. No idea if that makes sense. It’s similar to when my acting teacher told me, “Stop thinking and do the thing.” I became braver and more creative because of that training.
Succinct, stunning and doable advice. Thank-you! Just moved into a single level condo with 11 ft vaulted ceilings. Acoustically it reverberates like a Gregorian monastery. Our goal is to make the space luxurious by getting it to shut the heck up! We're hoping we can do it tastefully without resorting to shag carpet on the walls, aka the 1970's hippie van theme.
Why are all your videos things I already knew or heard, but in ways I finally care about. When you explain it, I feel not only like I want to do it, but that it's totally attainable. Like I'll do this as soon as I'm done watching. When other people talk about this stuff, it's like "k good for them". Your channel was a real find!
You are right! People who feel they've "arrived" financially will often dedicate a whole wall, stairway landing, niche to that one special painting they finally attained. Exactly how the artist would have liked it to be displayed. Or vase. Or exotic furniture piece. We can do the same with quality items that are within our reach.
Such GREAT advice about not automatically going to really small furniture in small spaces! My living is literally a micro-space, 98 inches (8 feet) wide, and I put an 83 inch sofa against the back wall. It's cream colored + low height against a white wall, and I put 2 accent chocolate-leather barrel chairs in front, on either side facing it. Makes for a very lovely (and comfortable!) conversation space. And it feels cozy instead of small and cramped. (Also, I put a large round mirror against the back wall behind the couch, which expands the space visually)
As I’m watching today’s video I have electricians installing sconces in two rooms and I feel like the fanciest lady in the village!! I adore lighting more than I can express. 🎩🎩🎩
Great, helpful, information! Best coffee table idea for a small space is when people come over: pull in a sturdy round upholstered storage ottoman and top with a round piece of glass ( 1/4-1/2 inch thick) you keep behind your buffet/hutch/dresser whatever you have until you need it.
I love when you do your unique things as you do when explaining things (like when you lift your leg to show items instead of your arm). You are always so interesting and entertaining!!! I agree completely about minimal look and how knick-knacks and stuff look young or cluttery in general. I love how you design things or talk about designing things.
Did you conveniently time this upload when you know a lot of us are going to be spring cleaning? If so, GENIUS. If not, still genius because this video is exactly what I needed today!
Yes! This week I’ve built a rolling bedside cabinet so I can easily move it to get to the corner of the bed to make it in a smaller room. I put quarter round trim on the edges to add curves. I also put some silver paint on the handle to add lux and made a built in tray which I’m going to add a woven faux leather mat to for lux. Looks great. Instead of a coffee table, I’m going to make a table that goes over the ottoman.
Estate sales are great for small items as well as high quality upholstered items. You buy a good, sturdy frame that you get reupholstered in your choice of fabric. Have new, comfy cushions made while you’re at it. Customize the legs. I scour the photos from upcoming estate sales looking for homes that seem to belong to older couples who traveled the world. I’ve scored Moroccan lanterns, ethnic textiles, collapsible table bases with metal trays tops, curvy sculptural metal teapots, etc.
Caroline, instead of a coffee table, go for a large rectangular, square or round flat or tufted ottoman. Then you can have a stunning tray to put on it (be it wood, wicker--depending on your scheme), to have a place to set your beverages when needed.....That way too you can add another design element into the room by the type of fabric & legs used.
She’s not lying about editing down and focusing on one or a few great pieces. I’m someone who likes a more eclectic style, however it’s because I prefer that youthful, whimsical vibe. My sister on the other hand, is very chic and luxurious with her style and it FEELS more luxurious. Definitely a true correlation there. Quality over quantity relates here as well.
I'm about to move in to my first apartment (you all call it a condo) and I've been reading design books for 2 years in anticipation. I've learnt more from your channel than all of those books. And had a bunch of lols along the way. Thank you, thank you, thank you for being excellent and sharing with us. And being an Aussie, I very much enjoyed your use of Kylie Minogue in this one! xx
We’ve been in our house for 11 years - yet to find a coffee table I like. It took me 9 years to find a sideboard for our dining room. So much of what’s out there is the same, or the wrong scale.

I think this is my favorite video on the internet. This is completely what I call great interior design theory. Everything about this is largely fabulous. And you were such a joy to watch!
I have a great coffee table. Years ago I bought a beaten up, chippy paint kitchen table that I had cut down. It is 19" high. Higher than many coffee tables. It has a drawer and is pretty large. I love it.
I love coffee tables, too. Don't know how I'd live without one. Mine stores many necessities for comfort in close reach and I need space to spread out my stuff, eat, etc. I probably am on my couch too much, because I have a great coffee table 😂
Tiny little tipple table next to the fireplace feels so much like a Yorgos Lanthimos production. Also, also! I’m doing headbands. I’m totally inspired. Obsessed, k bye love you. Ps as an Australian I am really happy we’re giving Kylie the time of day she deserves. She’s a Queen as are you.

I don’t like coffee tables either, although I admit they can be stylishly decorated. We have a 36” round ottoman that we use to put our feet and legs on, but we can put a tray on for drinks if we have guests. We love it.

Oh that makes sense
It’s the small things that matter
yes!! temporary/non-owner decorating ideas + options would be a great video
Wait, wait, what?!? You’re gonna live in Florence, Italy, for 6 months? Who needs a rental?! I’d go there and happily sleep under a bridge. 😂 I envy you. It’s such a magical city. I hope you’ll have a wonderful, unforgettable time.
this is a wonderful idea. i think i've got something in the works for this.....!
Perfectly written.
Agreed, me too❤
YAS!!!
"Forget guests, I hate people" made me chuckle 😅
Me too!
Yes! Me too!😂
❤ she is so so funny
That's how i decorate 😂 no guests!
You are the best of the best. Frankness, intelligence, beauty and humor. Thanks, thanks thanks
Well said! 🌺
❤ i'm so glad you liked the video. i loved making this one!
Oo. I’m into this!
You know what’s way better than a coffee table?? An ottoman. I don’t know why people even own coffee tables, they’re toe stubbing hard uggos in the middle of the room. Ottomans are cozy sweet little soft additions to a livingroom. Plus they can act as additional seating!? Amazing. Ok thanks I’m done my rant 🤗
do you have a tray on the ottoman to put cups down? also do you decorate your ottoman like people do with coffee tables? thanks :)
This old lady loves your aesthetic; you're adorable and Oh, so smart.
the greatest comment section here is wild. Supportive, thoughtful, and reflective
Birds of a feather :)
It’s very nice scrolling the comments here because people are kind and insightful 🙏🏻
Oooo, same! Love the other comments!
Caroline: “I WILL have somewhere to put down my drink!”
Also Caroline: “NO COFFEE TABLES! EVER!”
😂
It’s a difficult position to occupy
I love that I am not in a rush to “finish” any space in my home. I don’t think I will ever buy any expensive small piece or expensive lamp, any expensive anything. I find luxurious, high quality pieces while thrifting all the time and am slowly making my house a home. ☺️ These are great tips cause now I can pin and manifest these items on my thrift trips. 🥰
Here to appreciate the new font. 10/10 font selection. Big love.
Yes, indeed!
I think you are funny, quirky and not afraid to show your mistakes. Also, I like the way you cover so many different subjects. Just plain fun and interesting to watch your videos!
Thank you for staying away from the sad beige aesthetic and giving your viewers practical advice on "editing" and working with their existing decor.
I was watching a show that tours the most expensive houses around the country and was shocked at how bad the interiors were! No art, and beige, beige, beige! I would be so depressed!
the alabaster ear plug holder, the epitome of luxury
a confounding flex i know
I TOTALLY get it. One of my favorite little luxuries is a porcelain ring box beside my bed that I keep filled with vaseline for my always chapped lips. It makes me happy every time I use it. @@Caroline_Winkler
"It's fine. No one's getting in trouble!" LOL
Speaking of editing, whoever edited this video did an incredible job! Love the music 😊
my editor paige did this one!! she killed it
What can I say? My bougie aspirations and poor ass desperately needs this video. Oh wise one! Teach us your ways!
I feel this! Great ambitions, even better taste, no money - that's me. 😂
bougie asses unite
@@bananarama480l found my people! You couldn't believe the amount of books in my room, I consider them a luxury, but I have no more room to put them!
Bougie… this not so common weird word has been on my mind for a few days and now I’m hearing it in this video of Caroline! Interesting.
@@Caroline_Winklerwe’re in a bougie state of mind, yeah.
Right angles are the venereal disease of interior design... cracked me up. You're good! You're the only person I consistently watch on UA-cam and I really feel your design ideas help. Thank you.
You can also find luxurious items at thrift stores! You don’t need to spend a lot of money to get something luxurious-feeling!
I love how educational your content is.
ah im so glad that was an effective demonstration! i never know how these little moments will translate
Been looking at opulent accent wallpapers for my °cupboard under the stairs° lately ♡
Thank you!!!
Also... OMG the sacred doll items, I feel it!
Also, also! What do you mean I don't need to store my earplugs scattered under my pillowcase?! 😅
OK, back to watching ^^
Literally as soon as this video started I was like I’m gonna tell her how Rita Konig defines luxury AND THEN YOU BROUGHT IT UP love it
ahhhh! im so glad! she scares the shit out of me honestly haha but she's quite talented
I hope this becomes a series; I'd love a video on how to make a space cosy / homey / comforting.
The Kylie Minogue needle drop! We have to stan!
hahaha
Ngl, I nearly wet my pants when I heard it. Kylie is the queen!!! 💃
Whenever you use recognisable music tracks, I sit here worrying that you're not going to be able to monetise the video and that your genius will be all for naught 😅
i love it when you include visual examples of the tips you suggest!! seeing how the same concept can be applied through different styles is so helpful.
One of the best videos you've ever made.
ugh bless
@@Caroline_Winkler 😍💓💓💓💓💓
The message about paring back reminds me of the Coco Chanel quote: “Before you leave the house, look in the mirror and take one thing off.”
Love that alabaster ear-plug holder next to your bed. If you put an electric or LED tealight in it, it'll glow like naturally luminescent stone 😊
Caroline!! I dont normally comment on videos because I overthink lol, but I just lostened to the podcast episode where you talked about getting hate for your fool's journey to love and I felt compelled to say I LOVED those videos. It sucks that you got hate for those. They are some of my favorite youtube videos Ive ever watched. You are wonderful and hilarious. It feels like chatting with my sisters❤ thank you for sharing part of your life with us, Im sure thats not easy, but you make it look easy! fuck the haters ❤❤❤
I agree. Those were GREAT videos.
You are so right, things do feel sacred when set forth as special.
another way to make your place feel luxurious is ORIGINAL and UNIQUE ARTWORK!! and Caroline definitely does this so well 🤩🤩
VIDEO IDEA - I’m moving soon into a much larger space and would love a video with tips on how to choose how to fill a space especially when you don’t want to just act quickly to fill the space!
I would love that, too!
This is what I've been struggling with. I was always a major city girl living in apartments, but suddenly (long story) I was thrust into a 3 story townhouse in a tiny river town. Iregardless of decor simply learning how i function and live in a larger space has been quite the adjustment.
I think you just taught me an important lesson -- be intentional, always. With everything.
This is fantastic! For us hoarders out there who don’t want to part with anything, I think rotating objects is a great idea. I like the Feng Shui rule of 27 things.
I hadn't heard of the 27 thing rule! I'll definitely have to look more into Feng Shui principles.
27 things on one shelve right? 🤔😂
MISS GIRLLLLL I scream every time you upload a new video ❤️🔥❤️🔥
"Tiny Wall Moment". We needed this term. 😂
Wow I have to say this is a video I will probably watch multiple times. Everything made so much sense!!! Take me to the lamp club 👯♀️🕺🏼💃
aw, the best feedback!
YES to the American Girl doll reference! I loved those as a kid ❤
I was obsessed, so many hours wasted griping pages of the AG catalogue, wishing for Samantha doll... with the bed!!
i had felicity and my sister had samantha. we were intolerable
@@Caroline_WinklerThat explains so much about you both
Great, helpful, information! Best coffee table idea for a small space is when people come over: pull in a sturdy round upholstered storage ottoman and top with a round piece of glass ( 1/4-1/2 inch thick) you keep behind your buffet/hutch/dresser whatever you have until you need it.
I do something similar. Instead of the glass though I have a selection of trays and nice cutting boards.
Oh my goodness! Is this why my mother was always buying lamps?
it is.
I feel an important thing to mention is that you can get luxurious items for a very low price by buying 2nd hand!
Great ideas presented with witty/silly, down-to-earth, entertaining, quirky personality
And being an Aussie, I very much enjoyed your use of Kylie Minogue in this one! xx
I love this video. The first tip about luxury being minimalist is phenomenal.
We’ve been in our house for 11 years - yet to find a coffee table I like. It took me 9 years to find a sideboard for our dining room. So much of what’s out there is the same, or the wrong scale.
right?? it's very annoying to me

aw thanks toots!

In fact I wish your videos were longer and as much of them as you can like sooner.❤
As much sooner as possible.

Complete 👏🏼 the 👏🏼 vignette! 👏🏼 I've been redecorating our family home, and have very little leeway because it's all preexisting piles of art and things to arrange - I'm literally sitting here just joining the dots, and NGL it's fun AF 😆 This video is *gold* ❤
Great video for 2 reasons. 1. Very helpful. 2. My dog loved the sound effects.
big love to your dog
Love this format... it was nice going through the chapters.... You are hilarious.
I really love your approach to designing a space that you enjoy living in

Love all your videos, but your decorating style and advice motivates me! And really enjoying the podcast with you and Jess… so glad I get more of you!! Thanks for sharing your humor, insights and vulnerability.
I don’t like coffee tables either, although I admit they can be stylishly decorated. We have a 36” round ottoman that we use to put our feet and legs on, but we can put a tray on for drinks if we have guests. We love it.
