this was the second game i played at a young age (11) and it took me 7 months to finish it, it wasn't hard looking back, it was just really insanely scary for me, i remember pausing and just quitting for a few weeks during that boss fight at the winter rooftop, nosferatu scared me so much.
Congratz :) I only managed to finish it once due to it being the hardest RE game for me (next to Outbreak which is on a whole other level again.) I'll try a casual run on very easy on the PS3/4, though, once I got it on there, too.
I know this is a couple years old but thanks to you, I managed to complete this game in 3 hours 30 mins with herb glitch. Nowhere near as impressive as your run but it's something I never thought I'd manage. Thank you. Also, I like your voice hehe 😃

Man, I got this game shortly after it released on PS2 all the way back in 2001. Played and beat it four time it's my most memorable Resident Evil game because it was the first I beat. I don't why look Resident Evil 2 but more so Nemesis was hard and I basically gave up on them.

Got to the mutated Steve segment and then refreshed my memory for the time limit... and then I realized I didn't do the other requirements xD Now I'm hoarding all the non F.Aid spray heals I can and schmoovin. Thanks for these! P.S. The steve segment I mentioned is extra frustrating, because you 'can't' tank 2 hits from him, and I cannot for the life of me do what you do with the chair that gets him stuck. I wind up stuck and pinned in the corner xD
Whoa, I never knew one can dodge Steve like that. Gotta remember it for my run I'll do on PS3/4 once I bought it there again. And sure, you could've saved so much time in this run at some points, but I still really enjoyed this. CV:X is one of my favourite RE games, but playing it really can be a pain sometimes. I'm very glad Capcom added difficulty options in the HD version as well. Back then, I'd always run out of ammo and stuff here is not as easy to dodge like in RE HD Remaster (which is my fav to speedrun and I barely need to kill any enemies there.) I still also hope CV will make it on the PC someday, even though there's little hope for that.
I'm kind of irritated with this game. I basically mirrored your movements through this run with the exception of picking up more grenade ammo, giving the pills to the guard, and picking up more health items. Ended with 2:35 on the end time but only got a B. I doubt I'll ever retry this headache
Fahrenheit for public is useless, sure in studies and in the lab Fahrenheit is accurate, but for public its useless, Celcius is way better, and only US uses Fahrenheit and lbs and feet/inch etc. I think kg, Celcius and cm/meters etc. are way better @@Slayer3915
A note. If you do the playing manual glitch for bow gun bolts before giving the hemostatic meds to Rodrigo, you will lose the glitch. Just learnt the hard way.
good call, because it forces Claire to equip the lighter. The speedrun is done fastest when you wait until before Tyrant 1 to perform the glitch, but for casual runs i can see it going byebye.
That feeling when you're not sure if these are frame perfect movements, or if the game has enough leeway for zombie juking. Either way, I really love Code Veronica. RE3 still has the best replayability, but I appreciate how CV adjusts to certain interactions.
I wonder if developers had some more idea around that "torture" chamber beneath the incinerator room in the army base. It seems like it was supposed to be some kind of a puzzle that you'd need to solve in order to open those red curtains (info: I've played the game up until the point where Chris fights Alexia in the Spencer mansion replica, so I don't know if the game will bring you back later to that part of the map and to offer you a chance to do something with that room).

I remember reading that part of the Tyrant fight in a strat guide and it said that you can shoot him enough for the crate to "punch" him out of the plane. I suppose by punching the Tyrant with a big-ass explosive crate would be a count that Mario himself wouldn't be a part of. ;)
I usually never have problems with speedrunning this, but I was stupid enough to get all the way towards the end and get flattened by THAT FUCKING TRAP AT 1:35:00. How could I be so stupid, my blood is still boiling....
I started an under 4 hour no save no first aid run and boy was part 1 easy except tyrant 2 which i had to use the playing manual glitch to bombars tyrant with explosive arrows. Part 2 on the other hand i ended up unloading the AK into Nosferatu as well as 30 handgun bullets then i quickshot the sniper rifle to finish him off surprisingly i didnt get poisoned and if i can replicate that then i can skip the serum. The moth hall i never got poisoned despite getting hit 3 to 5 times, unfortunately during Chris on Rockford Island i met my end by the Sweepers after grabbing the proofs while trying to run around them to where they dont get aggro... Im really gonna hate ANTartica at this point. And yes im trying to A rank it

This speed run is very easy to a certain extent, but the past two times when I’m almost done I die at 1:35:06 from the trap. Does anyone have any tips or tricks for that part because I only have three trophies left until I earn the platinum and it is extremely frustrating.
Other than the Tyrant, the worm and the other bosses you can play most of the game using only the knife. I did it and while it was slow going killing zombies I had a ton of extra bullet by the end of the game. Believe it or not you can even use the knife against hunters. Though I wouldn't recommend it unless you are a true Mad Lad.
Nah, knife is completely doable in cvx, just unbalanced against the player because not everything can be dodged. Knife dealing multiple hits isn’t an advantage for the player if the game doesn’t let you dodge shit.
17:30 - I am playing ported version on PS4 and I noticed the same exact thing: when using the knife, sometimes pressing down on the D pad will register as diagonal move and my player will start to rotate, instead of standing still and aiming down.

Sam Elassaad Any ammo done with the glitch you can simply put the weapon away and still use it however you cannot switch weapons as it'll undo the glitch.
you still take damage even if you didn't get bit when they grab you. its just the damage is very little. I was testing after 3 or 4 bites and the 4th or 5th grab by the zombie but I didn't get bit Claire show signs of injury already if only I have video tp proofed back then

if you die, reload from the free save. retries count against you.

The HD version is the darkest, just like the silent hill 2 HD "upgrade" it resulted in a very dark game

What’s the difference between the glock and the enhanced glock.. I never noticed much of a difference
I think it shoots in bursts rather than single fire.
Apparently the modified Glock has a 4% chance of a critical hit that can instantly kill most enemies.
