Thanks for this! The start to finish process was very, very helpful. I never had any luck sublimating directly onto Oracal 651 and I like to laminate all of my stickers/decals for extra durability and scratch resistance anyways haha. Thank you and can’t wait to see your next video! ❤️

Couldn't one do the following:
1. Prepare your Print & Cut job in your software (Design Space or Silhouette Studio).
2. Print your sublimation image first (in reverse, naturally). Then set it aside for a moment.
3. Laminate your Oracal 651 White with the clear laminate material.
4. Next, sublimate your printed image onto the prepared Oracal laminate from step 3 above.
5. THEN, send the Print & Cut job to your machine for the cutting.
Just curious if this sequence would work OK, as it would save a little time. Thank you for your advice. -Betty-

I have been trying to do this for over a week (651 to Laminate) everyone says heat press them together-great, Except it never comes off looking correct. Your way of running it through a laminating machine first.....WHAT?? Why couldn't I have found you 10 sheets of laminate & several yards of 651 ago? Thank you So Much!!!

Today, I tried this with removable cricut vinyl it did not work for me it was a total disaster, the vinyl shrunk a little in some parts and it curled a little. Then I tried with sticker paper and that worked a whole lot better. The settings I used was 330°F for 40 seconds on firm pressure and it was a success!
Cant sub on just any vinyl so u know. Thats why circuit vinyl didn't work

At times if I am doing a full sheet I get ripples with the finish product when it comes off of the heat press, any suggestions?

Thank you! 💖💖 I have not done this on htv. With the laminate it won't work on htv bc the laminate is to stiff and will peel off with all that movement. But I have seen some people sublimating on some clear htv recently so I'm really interested to try that.
How well does the inks hold up? Can you put it on a car?

I haven't tried that myself, but I have seen people using regular paper to sublimate 🤷♀️
I use regular copy paper all the time for sublimation works fine and saves a bucket load of money

I have gotten this question so many times and I never have an answer. So I think I'm going to make one and set it outside to see how it holds up and do updates. I know a lot of people make outdoor decor and it's gotta stand up to the elements. 💖
@@hobbyjobbycreations I've made some Pet Memorial plaques for my Mum using Lamination Sheets and sublimation. They have been outside in a garden in the North of England in various weather conditions for at least 4 months now and they look fine, they haven't faded still look good.

Yes, after I made it I just applied it like a normal decal to the wood decor piece I showed at the end 😊

What side of the vinyl are you putting the laminate.
Hi! Thanks for the informative video. Question -- could you apply the laminating sheet to your vinyl using your heat press (and avoid having to use the laminating machine)? I'd like to not have to buy yet another piece of equipment, if possible. 😀
Yes! I'm not sure what the settings or times are but I've heard plenty of people say they have used their press instead of a laminating machine 😁
I tried with my cricut easy press and it didn't work so I bought the machine it was only 25 at Walmart finding room to put it somewhere was the hard part. Lol
It's hard not to get bubbles on oracal 651 without the laminator. It's easy to laminate canvas with the heat press
Iam so new to this...I've seen other videos where they print design on the sticker paper, laminate it then cut. But you laminated the oracal vinyl first right? The you sublimated on the laminated oracal vinyl, right.

Yes that is what I did 😊 I know people have other methods. This is just what worked best for me 😊

So in this process, the sub-ink goes on top of the lamination sheet that's on top of the vinyl correct?

What heat setting did you use because when I used 350 @60 seconds it made it matte and the backside sticky is well
also is this a cold peel?
peel when you like because sub paper will not stick to right side of laminate, but I suggest letting sticker cool

Oh no! I'm sorry 😞.. Im using gloss. However I'm unsure whether or not it matters which one you use as I've only used the gloss so far.

So a couple weeks ago I set one sticker outside of my house and I put one on my car to test how it will hold up. I'm hoping this week I can post my results (thus far) video to let people see how they hold up in the outdoor elements.

i dont understand why you had to use laminate sheet when you can sublimate on sublimation paper and press onto your substrate
I just don't understand why we would want to laminate the Oracal as it is sublimatable?
So you laminated the Oracal 651? You used clear. Did you use laminate also?
When I sublimated on the clear I did not laminate and I did 312°F for 40 seconds. The results aren't quite as great in my opinion, but still pretty nice 😊
you don't have to laminate 651 to be able to sub on it
How do you stop dust particles from getting on the laminated sheet. It looks good until it’s heat laminated then I see little specks of dust, etc.
my oracle always melts to the sublimation paper.... I don't know what I'm doing wrong
With laminate over top I haven't had that problem.. but with no laminate I have. I decreased the heat a bit and decreased the time. It's been a while but I think I did about 360 or so for about 45 seconds without laminate. If paper sticks use a damp cloth or sponge and lightly rub the paper off 😊

Unfortunately it will not. However, Siser makes something called Easy Subli which is a sublimatable htv 😊

You can do this minus laminate sheet on white or rainbow glitter HTV only

So I have not tried this on htv. Bc of the firmness of the laminate I probably wouldn't use it on htv. However Siser makes something called easy subli which is sublimation htv. It's pretty awesome. 😊 the process works a lot like this one but without the laminate 😁
Why didn’t you show what and how you applied it to your project
no need to laminate the vinyl. the sublimation in will adhere to the vinyl
you know you don't have to laminate 651 to be able to sub on it
This is overkill! The 651 vinyl is so you don't have to use laminate sheets.
i have been working on testing sublimating on oracale 651 and all 3 brands of sub paper i use leave a residue on the vinyl even with lower temp/time so that is what i'm expecting the laminating sheet prevents. i've ordered a laminator and pouches to try this method.
subbing straight to 651 will never be as vibrant as laminate
And dont have to use the laminate shit to sub on 651 vinyl
