On the VLAND site you have the option of getting the D2S LED or the D2H HID kit. Any reason to choose one over the other? I think they are the same price
It would be tightttt. Someone with these told me it takes a mini H7. I don't want to mess with the driver thing having to bring it external anyway. These work fine.
Hey on the deautoLED site did you order the 6000k or the 5000k D2H option? I don’t really know the difference and I order the lights with just the one bulb in there too with no outer bulb. Is all I need to finish it is one of the two D2H options and it will come with everything in you showed?
@SkyysGarage I don't remember. The HIDs come in 5500 I don't think there actually was a choice i.e. site is wrong. I'd just reach out to them to verify...he is good about getting back to you. What do you mean "no outer bulb"? The Vlands for 7.5 come with the inner high beam bulb which is halogen. My HID kit came with everything I needed.
@karstgeo7290 I have the inner high beam already in the headlight. But the other side like in your video was empty with the green housing. I will give them a call and try to figure it out. In the link in your bio for the bulb there’s like 6 options for bulbs they have 6000 and 5000 H7 D2H and D2S options. I’m just making sure I’m buying the right one and the one you installed looked really good. So I’m just trying to figure out wich one you went with and making sure it will fit the headlight and also it comes with the whole kit and all the wires.
I read about a member in the GSW/AT FB group that had these and said the projectors are optimized for HID so figured why not, no real difference in price/complexity. You can certainly use a D2H LED kit as well which likely still has some kit that needs to be tucked away in the housing.
@@karstgeo7290 Thanks! I’ll probably get these ordered and figure out the bulbs after. Funny I almost went with the Deauto LED that you had on your Halogen housings (I have a ‘19 Sportwagen S) but this video made me reconsider!
Does the side light come on while turning? I’m not talking about turn signals when you move the wheel to the right or left or even when you indicate my headlight atm turns this side light on to reflect the light towards either to the right or left depending on the turn signal or turn you make pleas confirm if this is the case for this headlight as well depending on that I will buy
@@karstgeo7290 had a accident recently so got an opportunity for upgrade but I need that feature it’s so cool because I already have it, my head light is like two boxes non lit box one
Hi, following what you have done I am placing the ballast assembly inside the headlight units. Are you still happy with the performance of the VLAND headlights?
@@janithasw I believe this was earlier this year so maybe 9 mos? Where else would you put them? The r. covers for the low beam would need a hole drilled to pass the cables out. I've had no issues.
Thank you. Now is a good time to impulse buy some headlights for my 7.5 wag

HID vs. LED - just start doing a little research, quite different technologies.
Your old Deautoled low beam bulb does fit in the flash to pass spot, thats what I did with mine anyways

"You'll think you broke it but you probably didn't." 🤣Probably...

V-land offers the lights with LEDs as well. Any reason for or against LED instead of the HID kit?

No, there are no cornering lights on these MK7.5s.
@ thank you for the prompt reply but no 😭😭😭😭
@@zsp123456789 what year/car do you have? Aren't teh cornering lights only on the MK7/non-facelift? My Atlas has them but uses the fogs to do that.

@@janithasw yes.
@ Thanks, may I know how long you had the lights installed? Interestingly Vland customer service has advised against placing the ballast inside :)

@ fantastic I’m of the same view. I’m going to run with the ballasts inside and see how it goes. Hopefully they don’t heat up too much 🤞
i ordered these without the headlights as well. are both high and low beam bulbs h7?
No. Video explains this. Outer projector is D2H and inner is H7.
I’m mid-install on these-the passenger-side fitment is pretty bad. The tab inside the fender looks too far outboard by at least 1/8”.
Mine are ok...took some playing to get it right.
