We seem to have built our Mk7 GSWs at a similar pace lol
I, too love the IS38. Took it on a 3,000 mile roadtrip and loved it. In the hot summer, it still pulled, and a lot of my friends were surprised that a wagon can haul.
Yeah man! It’s so much fun!
Glad to hear you’re enjoying the wagon. Me too. It so unsuspecting.
@@DadWagon The lifted bro trucks never knew what hit them ;)
Your turbo/intake sounds sure are fun! 😀
Thank you for making this video, I just bought a MK 7.5 SportWagen and can't wait to start the mods.
No problem! Enjoy the build and planning
Saving this for ideas for my sportwagen
Big fan of the headlights man! Keep up the great content!
Thanks my man!
Just got a 18 gsw 4 motion and im really digging your videos! Cant wait to start modifying mine!
Awesome! Enjoy it and post up your questions as they come up - I'm still learning, but have picked up a lot along the way.
Thanks for the video man, I’m new here and just bought my 2020 golf!!! So psyched to get it going to how I want it ! Next vid should be about coil overs or some nice rims!
Welcome aboard! Thanks for checking out the channel and look forward to seeing your build!
I just turned in my old Volvo sedan (I'm a swede, obviously 😂) for a black 2016 GSW 2.0 TDI R-Line. I'm in love. I neeed those MK7.5 headlights, but I think I will take your advice and prioritize a stage 1 ecu upgrade from 150 to 195bhp. Mirror indicators also look awesome.. Your videos are soo inspiring man, thank you! 👌🏻
Tobias, thanks so much and love to hear that you're really enjoying your new car. obviously, do what you think is best, but the ECU tune will make you love the car even more. Enjoy and thanks for watching.
I've only done the stock intake mods which are mostly sufficient but those integrated engineering parts look so good and who doesn't like turbo noises!
It really was totally unexpected how much I enjoyed it. Really the only thing that pushed me to do it was going for the bigger turbo. Then... once it was on... I was like "hell yea - i'm 16 again"
@@DadWagon I'm only at uni stage one currently, just starting to collect parts to go is38 can't wait! Some of my favourite mods so far are to try and fix the manual which is a problem you dsg guys don't have haha
Great one...will be so helpful to n00bs!
Nice ride!
Thanks 19robby2
great video, hoping to do some of these mods on my own golf :)
Great! Let me know what you end up chosing to go with.
my man, why dont i have already 10k subs
Keep up the vids
Working on it!
Got same Bilstein shocks , ECS has HD shock mount kit ,it's worth getting, did 7 threads. From the bottom 5 on compression works great with 17inch wheels
Thanks for Marco - can't wait to get them installed. Soon.. i hope!
Firstly, thanks for all your videos (working my way through)...I feel I am living vicariously through you, LOL. As much as the DAPs/Pro tuner videos are great, I really connect with yours so thank you thank you!
My question is around performance, for a daily driver, any recs between stage 1, IS20 or IS38 (and what tune?)....leaning towards IS20 with DP, and keep rest stock, maybe front and rear stabilizer?
Marcus, thanks so much for watching and thank so much for sharing the value you've found in my creations.
As far as recommendations, i've really only experienced stage 2 with DP (which HP and driving wise is very close to stage 1) and IS38+Stage2. From everything I read and my experience, no matter what pairing you go with, you will not be disappointed - and if you go with a reputable tuner, your issues should be minimal. Sticking with any of the factory tuners does not make these cars feel like 'Too Much' in any way.
The downpipe will make your car louder, but do some research to find out what tone you want when choosing a downpipe.
Hi I am new here but found your video to be helpful as I just bought a 2016 Golf S Sportswagen. I'd like more info on the ecs tuning. And maybe some of the easier and cheaper mods to start with. So far I changed the rims and tires I went from 15s to 18s
OMG, I'm not even through the part of you listing all the mods and the cha-chings are making me anxious about listing out all of the parts and costs we've done to our cars.
That's almost why I NEEDED to do it... I asked my wife not to watch. :P
@@DadWagon 😆 and your hands at the end.
@@Vaguh you ever have this happen though? sometimes when you're filming your mind just doesn't function correctly.
@@DadWagon hundred percent.
how's the gas milage after the tune?
My gas mileage has always seemed to be lower than what other say they get on their cars. I don't do many long commutes in this vehicle and when i go to drive it, I drive it fairly aggressively. My avg. seems to be between 24 and 26mpg
I am considering lowering springs. I hear a lot of horror stories. I don't want to slam my car so I am thinking Eibach Pros that only slightly lower.
John, the H&R and Eibach seem to have pretty good reviews all around. What kind of horror stories have you heard?
@@DadWagon heard shocks going early on springs that were too low.
@@johnhegarty1835 Got it, that could make sense, given the shocks weren't intended for that ride height.
Is your sportwagen automatic?
Yes, DSG trans
@@DadWagon it said that the software is not for automatic transmission so you don’t have any problems?
