I saw this video a week ago, i bought it because of you, i just got it in a few days ago and it works perfect. glad youtube exist to search things like meta quest 3 battery extender lol
What can you say about it after a month of use? I'm mainly concerned about comfort (for example are there any places where it presses more on the head) and how long does the battery last? I would be very very grateful for your answer
I have the Aubika and it has been great for battery life and comfortable you cant go wrong with it if you want a good battery strap had mine for over a month and love it.
Any advise on charging management? Do you charge both strap and headset from the battery strap? How long does it take to charge? Can you charge the strap without charging the headset to avoid overcharge?
No it is false it charge both Quest and Headstrap at sametime. Quest is set to full first then Aubika which is logic because of the increased capacity. You can also make only the strap to be charged
There are basically 3 replacement head straps for the Quest 3. Those wanting a hot swappable battery, halo style headstrap have no other choice but, the BoboVR M3 Pro and those wanting a hot swap battery, Elite style head strap should buy the Binbok VR T3 (I own) or even the new BoboVR M3 Mini (convert rear to battery rear) or the new ZyberVr Comfort Elite Battery Strap. I do agree that the adjustment knob on the Binbok is strange & retracts back down to its default position. And I've been fortunate enough to have zero battery 🔋 charging noise/whine from the detachable batteries. Aubika Battery Extender strap has been touted as your best non-removable battery powered Elite style headstrap in chargeability. An honorable mention goes out to the Kiwi Design Comfort strap.
Bobo has one in elite-style too: BoboVR M3 mini. Thats what I got and I don't want even more weight on my head so I have an Anker Powerbank in my pocket that is lasting way longer than all of these strap batteries. You need a 20W powerbank to keep up with charging while playing.
I have the Aubika & it’s decent, but the Binbok VR T3, with its interchangeable batteries, is even better. No buzzing from either, in my case, & it charges the headset pretty well.
I bought the Aubika because it was the only one at the time that could handle the wired charging requirements of the headset without the inductors buzzing. I assume this can be addressed in the BMS of new manufacture headstraps going forward but until manufacturers do that i have no interest in the BoBo or the Binbok even though they were originally the ones i wanted. I would like to have hot swappable batteries but i generally get 2ish days of use out of my Headset with the Aubika as long as i dont use BigScreen. So far, Bigscreen is the only thing that has made me wish for longer battery life. I have only had the headset for 2 months but it has died on me twice while watching movies and chatting with randos till the wee hours in the BigScreen App
The first Aubika I got buzzed terribly. Then I heard it got an update so I returned it and the new one had no buzzing sound, but lately, I will randomly get a mild buzzing sound that goes away if I turn it off then on again. Haven't been able to pin down what circumstances cause that.
Thanks you for honest reviews. I'm also searching for perfect Head Strap (it a shame that Meta gives you underwear straps with sandpaper at face mask). I don't own Halo style strap yet but from the one which you just shown, I have ZyberVR Zero with battery and another without one. Also just ordered Kiwi Comfort and also Battery version. Beside that bought on Ali Newdery 10000mAh neck battery, Behorse Elite Strap, Eva Case (I hope it will be tall enough to keep all these Halo and so on straps), AMVR full body case, not just straps version for controllers and finally Oneclik Elite Strap from iPlay - the one with circle button inside round knob (ppl claim that release method by one click is fantastic if you are at party). Keep up with good reviews. Thanks!
i get Damon light head strap for my quest 3 and im really happy with it. i also use my baseus 10000 mah 30w power bank and combined with my headset battery i have around 5 hours of gameplay with my headset. very cool
Now try the kiwi battery strap for the quest 3. I've heard it's basically the bobovr m3 pro but it doesn't have hotswapable batteries and it's not the halo style.
I've tried several with rear head cushions and found this one the most comfortable. The rear brace is made of soft, flexible material that conforms to my head well and doesn't get hot.
Thanks for the comprehensive review. Thankfully I was one of the few who had a pro strap from meta that lasted, but if that goes south it's nice to know what my alternative are.
Hey, I have the Bobovr being delivered to me right now and I saw reviews about buzzing but it seemed like it wasn't for all of them and was only a few of the reviews. Is this buzzing quiet enough to deal with, or should I be looking into other straps and possibly refund this strap? While I'm asking, how good is the Bobovr when laying or sitting? Thank you for making this video, very helpful.
the bobo does buzz, but you won't hear it with any decent audio coming from the headset. It never bothered me but I'm pretty laid back in general. I have not laid down with the bobo but sitting works great. I almost always stand tho, I just prefer that in VR
@ChrisBTech Thank you for all the information. I'm totally fine as long as it can rest on a back of a chair, anything is better than the soda can I have strapped to it right now lol
Just got myself a Quest 3, wishing I had seen your videos before to get you the $30 credit. I'm going to check out the Aubika. Are you going to be doing VR Dirty Tesla videos? Will be great once you get your Cybertruck.
The Meta Elite strap is back on the market. In terms of comfort only - how would you say the Aubika compares to the Meta Elite? I think your video is the most comprehensive one out there. The only popular one you're missing is the Kiwi but I realize it's not worth buying if you're already happy with what you have. Price aside, I'm wondering which one to go for.
They are very similar. If you don't care about price and trust meta, I think I'd go for the official one because I love the way it integrates software wise as well
This head strap is the absolute worst, they’ve replaced mine 3 times, the head strap fails to lock into place, unfortunately. I highly recommend the bobovr head strap
Ordered one. Returning it. USB C port on the battery was damaged and the strap loop at the back where the top strap hooks in got painful real quick. Also, this battery buzzes. Wouldn't recommend.
If I leave the usb cable attached to battery strap and charge the headset and battery from the back. Once it’s finished charging I take the usb out of the back. Will the headstrap battery try and charge the headset? Or will it all be off and only try charge headset once I turn the quest 3 on?
Don’t do that. The battery will burn out. Trust me I’m telling u from experience. Best is to charge the battery pack separate and then plug it in the Wuest.
Not trying to be a Hairist, but us baldies wear caps and hats in a far different way to Hairies. Hair is a damper, place a hard object with corners or edges on a full head of hair and you don't feel it the same as something with a less than soft edge on a Bald pate. The size or way a strap tightens onto a Hairy head to a bald one is also totally different. This is why I only watch videos reviewing items that I would use on my head from Bald people. Hair is very warm and an insulator and so a strap that is cool for a baldy or that doesn't slip or cause sweat may be totally wrong for a hairy. Same as caps or hats that I wear have felt or a soft cloth around the inside that goes against my head, no hard plastic or straw etc. To make your reviews more useful, try getting a wig and wearing the same straps you really like and see how they compare if you have hair :) You will need to get a good wig as the cheap ones are really hot and itchy :) or if you happen to have a partner or friend with Hair, ask them to try it out and give you their opinion. Just a thought ?
Hi thanks for the review! I've a question if you can help me, I'm really careful with my tech but I can't find a way to wipe the lenses of the quest 3 without getting micro scratches. I can't notice anything while playing but I'm a bit afraid that in the future it will accumulate those micro scratches and ruin my usage :/ I only use a clean microfiber cloth and no liquids or anything else to wipe them, starting from the center with circular motion. (In fact in the correct light condition I see circular microscatches. Thanks a lot
My issue with Kiwi is that it does not have a power off button so you have to unplug the strap when fully charged and plug it when you want to play. I prefer messing with the battery usb port and let the headset port continuously plugged
I prefer the PSVR style straps, like to bobo. But I don't want to deal with buzzing. Does anyone have recommendations for best baseball cap style straps with battery packs?
Ah sorry to hear that. I don't mind the bobo either I just prefer this style better. Most people seem to actually prefer the bobo. And I make these videos late at night
Between the Aubika and the Bobovr. Which has the fastest adjustment? Me and my kids share the question and we all have different size heads. So ideally want something very easily adjustable too
I would say between the aukiba (elite) and bobovr (halo) styles of strap the elite styles would be quicker to put on and take off. I one that halo straps a bit more complicated for people so it takes a little bit longer compared to elite style. Elite strap is mostly just tighten it while halo strap there’s two adjustments to make. The strap itself in the back and then the forehead pad in the front and that part confuses people
which battery strap does have a charge passthrough ? I am currently using a 10.000maH powerbank, which works pretty good, but it does not have charge passthrough, so i cannot fully charge headset + battery at the same time with just one cable. I had 5000maH powerbanks that worked like this, but haven't found anything else.
I have not noticed it. Others have also commented saying they do not have buzz. One person said theirs did buzz, and they exchanged it and the new one did not.
@@ChrisBTech Yea I feel like they have a hand full that were made for the quest 2 then made it fit the quest 3 then had the issue then tried selling them off, I got one that buzzes while the ad states its "new tech" and dose not have that problem but mine is faulty, I might return its so irritating to use! Cheers man
I dont see the value on these honestly. All of them are have such little capacity in comparison of just sticking a 20-25k mAh powerbank in your pocket and routing the cables. On my setup I use a fanny pack across my body with a 24k power bank and it gives me 10+ hours easily. Don't waste your money on these, its overpriced crap
The main thing for me is the stock strap is absolute garbage and I couldn't play for over an hour anyway due to being in pain. So I like the new headstrap and built in battery.

Aubika @ 6:03
Thanks for the overview!
"Okay stop beeping, go away." (Battery gives one last impertinent beep as it leaves)

the kiwi has a battery version now aswell. for me its between that and the bobo
