couldn't be more wrong about the Zyber neck power bank.
Works perfect, don't even feel it when in use, keeps quest 3 charged to full for hours.
Can change out the swap-able battery when it shows 2 dots left then its back to 100% and can keep doing that for about 5 hours then finish the last battery and headset is still at 100% then finish headset battery for another 1 1/2 plus.
    You obviously didn't try it.

The ZyberVR neck battery does indeed have separate power packs available to purchase. Also I have used it with fitness apps with no issues, infact I'd say it was preferable to using other power packs as there is no long cable. Also the ZyberVR head strap is now available in a version which incorporates a built-in battery.

Yeah it's actually really well designed where the amount of time it takes to charge the detachable battery and put it back is almost an unlimited loop of power, adding one extra battery and you pretty much have power forever as long as you keep one charged.
obviously this is assuming the headset is not depleting, which in MOST use cases, it seems like the headset stays steady when the headset is around 65%

I actually prefer it over a pocket bank because the position and cable length is perfect. I only have a problem with it in Superhot when I'm dodging erratically which can send it swinging.

I purchased the bobo mini headset with no batteries and thinking if I need extra batteries, I would be better using the ZyberVR neck battery because I have neck pain and thinking if the VR contraption is too heavy on my neck it might hurt. The neck battery sounds like a better choice for me.

ZyberVR Neck battery is way better than any Battery Strap, because you can use it with the stock strap, which allows you to lay back on a pillow. :)

I have one and it has a least 2 hour battery power before it ran out. I still had another hour and a half gametime on Asgards Wrath 2 with the quest 3 didn't notice it on my neck once. Worth the purchase.

You can use any battery strap without attaching it to the actual goggles. If you're lying down while using the face crushing stock strap, just plug the cable from the battery strap into the goggles and put the strap on the bed near your head. The BoboVR battery can also be used without the strap by plugging it directly into the goggles just like any portable phone charger.

@@VanGohman Because the stock strap is awful for almost anything except lying down, so when you have a better strap with a battery, you can still use it for extra power even if you swap back to the stock strap. Zyber VR headstrap, you can place the headset on your face and then pull the back down. Much easier to put on & remove, especially if you are wearing glasses. I have the neck charger as well and I am really happy with it, I don't feel it on even when doing energetic Les Mills workouts.

You are about to enter a whole new world my friend. Get ready to go right down a rabbit hole of sccessories, games, modding, and learning sideloading if you want access to a ton of third party content not available on the meta store. The OG PSVR was ok but the controllers and tracking are meh as I'm sure you know. And the setup was a major PITA compared to a quest. And the quest ecosystem is packed with many very good games and that's before looking at steam PCVR games or Sidequest. I just installed a new wifi 6e router and can personally say wireless pcvr with the quest 3 is now buttery smooth and looks amazing. As I have a rift s I already had a large selection of PCVR games and getting to play those as well as the quest standalone games is just the best of both worlds.

I had a Kiwi Design headstrap lying arround for the Quest 2. They sell a conversion kit so I now use it on the Quest 3. It also has a hinge and I use it to flip the backside up when putting it on and taking it off. That helps a lot when you wear glasses. I like it a lot. I put a battery pack on it from the same brand, but they also have a battery headstrap now (but with less mAh).

I went ahead and purchased the BoboVR M3 Pro headset and got it week or so before Christmas. It was sold out on Amazon so I had to buy it from the main BoboVR website which took several weeks to get it shipped to me from China. The headset is nice. I like it. There were people complaining that the Quest 3 was draining a lot faster than the battery pack could charge but I haven't noticed that. Maybe that only happens in mixed reality mode which is more power demanding. The top of my head starts hurting after an hour or so with this headset on unfortunately, but it is a lot more comfortable than the stock strap that comes with the headset. If I take a 10 min break or so then I'm good to go again. On my Quest 2 I just use a battery bank in my pocket with a cable running up underneath my shirt to the Quest 2; This helps keep the wire from interfering with play.

I have the Zyber neck battery and it’s just fantastic. Playing Samba or Dungeons of Eternity it’s just fine and doesn’t move enough to bother me at all. It’s actually very comfortable.
Furthermore, if you forget to charge your headset and it’s at 10% - the neck batter will allow you to play AND charge the headset. If you have a Bobo M3, then after Zyber does its thing boom- put the bobatteries to use for the rest of your session.

Like someone else mentioned below, it would be nice if you reviewed the BINBOK VR T3 Plus Head Strap with Magnetic Battery Pack for Quest 3, Dual Replaceable Battery Combo(2x8000mAh) with Charging Dock. it's $99, includes 2 8000mah batteries and a charging dock for the 2 magnetic batteries. It keeps up with the Q3 unlike what I have read about the bobo, unless they have redesigned the battery. It would be good to do the tests with the heads straps to make sure they actually can output enough power that the headset doesn't discharge while using the quest with the battery attached. This is important to know the the headset won't die while you still have external battery capacity.

I'm surprised every time I see one of these quest 3 accessory videos the Binbok headstrap is never covered. Maybe it's a sponsorship thing, because it is a very good headstrap and IMO the best hot swappable battery headstrap there is for the quest 3. It's $100 but comes with 2x 8,000mAH hot swappable batteries with a wireless battery recharge station. The batteries are beefy enough to charge the headset while you use it. The headstrap has nice fleather (fake leather) padding on the top strap and the rear pad is large and comfortably cups the back of your head. IMO a very underrated and under covered product.
Just had to add something about the meta charging dock. I got quest 3 headsets for myself and my 12yo stepson for xmas. The boy previously had a quest 2 and in boy style it would be left sitting wherever was closest when he was done using it. The headset was never charged and often the controllers wandered off and had to be found. It sounds silly but this dock changed everything. Whenever he is done playing he VOLUNTARILY puts his headset and controllers on the charging station every time. He said he likes how it looks and how easy it is to use without having to plug in wires. And I must say I have one for my setup and really like it as well. I also got us both the binbok battery straps I mentioned which he also loves because he can play gorilla tag and roblox for many hours swapping batteries on the charger when they go dead. I will say the meta charging stand is expensive but worth every penny if you can afford it.
One extra note, the meta charging stand will work with the meta battery cover replacement knuckle straps as well.

  • @ViciousXUSMC
    @ViciousXUSMC 5 місяців тому

The 3 dots for charging on the official dock, are contact points. So its not "wireless" charging. Just a small thing to point out.
I do agree extedning the battery is a must for this device, and that also ruins the offical dock being a good solution, as it will charge the headset, but not the battery expansions.
So I think its easier to keep your battery plugged in to the quest, and charge your battery pack with a USB connection and that will charge the headset.
So one connection to charge both devices, and a bonus you are not removing/inserting the USB connection on the quest itself to help maintain its lifespan.
I got the Bobo and the Kiwi battery straps for now to compare them head 2 head, and some really nice straps so I dont toss the controllers.
Usually I'll keep an array of recharable batteries on standby for the controllers but I do look forward to a good recharable all in one solution.

Jumped in to defend the neck battery. Playing Les Mills Body Combat, Pistol Whip, Beat Saber, Thrill of the Fight, I've never had it move on me. In fact the only issue with it is that you forget you have it on and at the end you yank the headset off with the cable still attached. It also doesn't care what you attach it to. The main benefit is being able to lie down and watch a movie, without having your head sit on a bulky battery. You can't do that with most battery/straps.

  • @Sam-gf1eb
    @Sam-gf1eb 5 місяців тому

One thing I would suggest for everyone is NOT to buy a charging dock. Use the USB-C charger it came with to charge the headset. The quest 3 controller batteries will last up to months, so it's much cheaper to buy disposable batteries and switch them out. You can also get reusable batteries for the controllers if you wish to, but don't waste money on a charging dock. The quest 2 batteries only last 8 hours or so, so I won't say if you should buy a charging dock for that.
Also, if you buy a different headstrap (the included one is very uncomfortable for most people,) keep the included one. It's the best strap if you decide to lay down for watching a movie, taking a nap, or just looking at the stars.

Ok, first of all: You still can extend the battery life of the Q3 with the Bobovr Battery-Packs. But it's not 'unlimited playtime', like it was on the Q2. Because the Q3 needs more power and also drains 'older' batteries like the Bobovr ones much faster. I do have 3 of them myself and now after the update from Meta they hold up around 45 to 60 Min. Before the update it was more around 15 to 20 Min, so a significant update but far from the Q2 performance, where they lasted about as long as the other one needs to charge, what is about 2 hours. Anyways after the update now they are also/still able to keep the built-in battery from dying. And the Q3 beeps when the pack is empty, so you know when to change packs if you have more than one and don't have to check it between playing. That's really handy. But they also get pretty hot now, especially when the Q3 drained until/under the 'battery low-lvl'-warning. So I'm not sure, how long they'll last on/with the Q3. Just wanted to clear this up. But in terms of build quality and comfort, I haven't seen/experienced a better one 🙂
For me personally, I got a 10k mAh powerbank from amzn, which can also charge at 9v (and even up to 15v), which is the right/recommended charging range for the Q3, afaik/heard 🤔 maybe that'll do/fix this, at least for me, until Meta or any other company come up with a better/more secure/reliable solution.

Those docks are way over priced as is most quest vr stuff tbf. I really thought the cyber dock was going to be half the price. It looks so cool, but not at the price. I’ve got a glass head which works well enough and cost under 30 bucks. Very interested in the bobo VR battery pack though. Currently using an old powerbank velcrowed to the back of the stock Q3 strap. Will see how that goes but have added the bobo to my wish list. Thanks.

I use a 18000 mAH 22.5 W power bank from YILANS. I put it in my pocket and I get about 2-3 more hours of game play. I'm not sure if the quest 3 is rated for that type of charge but oh well lol

After my elite strap with battery stopped working I'm going to do the same and use my 20,000mAh 18W Anker battery pack to get extended use out of the headset. I'm not going to waste money on another crappy battery strap.

I don't understand the Aubika charging dock, that's a crazy price for a charger especially when you can simply use a magnetic cable with the standard charger.

IMO, charging stations are just overpriced chunks of plastic.
I'd prefer to set the headset on a shelf and plug it in. Problem solved. It doesn't get any more "minimal" than that. If someone is OCD about the appearance of controllers sitting on a shelf, they can always get creative, maybe use some holders that are designed for other things which fit the controllers.

So you bought all these or given to you? Well do you not notice how many of these "reviewers" are showing off allot of META EXTRAS? Telling you " in caps YOU NEED! They have no problem telling those that view sub to PAY MORE MONEY to Meta for a unit that have have already had some of these EXTRAS as they once told us yet oddly forget.,
Ask why did Mate lose around 25 billion from 2022-2023? Why did you not tell us also Quest 3 is not doing good. Yeah the sales are not going as they had planed and cut the sales going in to 2024. Did you know that? Its after Xmas has Meta been cutting prices? Sorry but no one just bounces back after losing 25 billion! They HAVE to make that money back and well how about getting all those brown nose kiss ups to help you. Odd those that told you the real truth about the Quest 3 oddly are not trying to sell more META stuff.
I didn't say this girls name here once nor did I think of her since I didn't watch this. Just in what I have noticed and man the ACCESSORIES you HAVE TO HAVE has kicked up when THEY told us the head strap should have been allot better and the battery and the mic how did all this get through? Yeah they NEW all this. Its no mistake. They made sure you WILL have to spend more money just to have fun.
