Will you be getting the Gulikit 4k Switch dock when they release it?
I might just have to look into my budget to see if I can fit the shadowcast 2 in there somewhere. I have the shadowcast 1 and it's super useful as a person that primarly plays PC games but doesn't want to lose PC usage when playing consoles. I have other ways to hook up a console but for 40 bucks, it's a steal considering how convenient it is.

The capture card looks like a miniature scale scanner from the late 90’s/early 2000’s, I almost like the design more because of that. I currently have a Elgato HD 60X but do plan to buy one for my mobile setut and wasn’t sure if I’d buy the same Elgato or go with something different. I’ll have to check it out.
Absolutely love my Genki dock. Essential purchase imo. Especially for travelling.
Bro that pro finally gives true competition to capture cards its bout time thats the price it should be. That 4k60 passthrough and recording too is unheard of for that price too!
I use my thingie from Genki to plug my switch into my laptop .. so I am actually using my laptop display as monitor for the switch

Is there any chance you could test the Shadowcast 2 Pro compatibility with RetroTink 2x and 5x? Some Capture devices struggle with those and I'm always looking for a better option.

What is latency like with the past thru on Shadowcast Pro? Mostly interested in just docking my Switch to my MacBook without the lag. I heard there was a lot of lag on the first Shadowcast, so I stayed away. I’m not really interested in streaming 😅

Im curious how the shadowcast 2 compares to the first one.
The first one wasn't the best latency wise unless you used third party software, and had a issue where the audio was sent in mono and had to be broken up into stereo with another utility.
The first one also had a issue where if your computer had always-on powered USB ports for charging the shadowcast would just simply not work when you rebooted your system. You would have to power cycle the cast by unplugging the c cable and plugging it back in.

I'm mainly interested in performance over the original. It's good to hear that they work as described, but why should I upgrade from the first Shadow Cast and Genki Dock?
I’ve always been wary of using third party docks due to the Switch’s non-standard charging protocol. Everything else seems cool.
Got mine from the kickstarter and its defective. been trying to get support or ask for a replacement but they seem to be having a hard time understanding or admitting I have a defect. replaced it with a Elgato HD60 S I got for $50 a third of the Shadowcast 2 Pro cost and same setup and wiring and it works fine.

Anybody knows what game was playing on the ROG Ally?
Heartwood online, available on Steam, IOS and Android. Its a Online RPG thats cross platform with mobile and PC. It is currently in Beta but is free to play. I have been enjoying it quite a bit.. little lacking in content at the moment but they are prepping a big update thats coming soon. This feels disingenuous to me. - my question, does the dock upscale the switch’s output to 4k? I feel like if it did, they’re phrasing would be more clear and probably include the word upscale.
No doesnt upscale anything, its a dock that has 4k support. I really dont see what you mean by disingenuous, they clearly list the specs.

You’re talking gibberish but I think I know what you said? The Genki dock is actually a dock not just a power brick, it is the switch charger and dock in one, it does all the things the switch dock does including letting the switch power up and use more of its power when docked.
