They made one for the GBA. It was also called the Game Changer
Technically it's a cartridge changer. Some cartridges have more than one game on them.

Something tells me it wont recognize the other devices as it needs to be plugged into the switch directly.
They should have individual buttons for each slot rather than having to cycle through all. Also a remote for game switching. It kinda defeats the purpose if we have to get off the couch and go there to click the buttons a few times. Might as well swap the cart then

I have the Park Sang version (literally the exact same thing) I did find out of my 3 Switch Docks 1 of them it would no allow it to go into “sleep” mode. It kept waking the switch up with this connected. Upon doing some research i guess there’s different Dock Chip sets depending on the company nintendo sourced the boards from that are slightly different causing that issue. It’s a pretty rare issue, but if that happens to you… the fix is to not plug the power into the switch, plug it separately into a wall outlet and problem solved. It’s a rare issue, but if you have that issue that’s the fix.
I wish nintendo would make an official one of these...
I’d have liked to see him put games in the storage slots and move the device about a bit to see how snug they are. I’d take even a slightly more compact form factor over those slots.

Hmm, a Switch equivalent to the MVS multi-slot units of the Neo-Geo. Not to mention the current equivalent to the unreleased Video Jockey multi cartridge unit.
Similarly for a interchangeable triple GBA games attachment handheld accessory in the 2000s

That is a neat device. If nintendo were smart, they would make an official one.
For an official one, I wonder if they could read all the carts at once, and present as a single multicart.
For me it would be better a Switch with two cartridge slots.
@@zombee38 AAAAND it saves your spot as a true image with a save/boot-proofer that keeps the game from crashing (of course, unless the console shuts down).
Reminds me of the Atari 2600 rom scanner, back in the day. This is for me, i cannot be bothered to change cartridges by hand, helps with my Imports ..lol

I like the idea but I feel like if I still have to get up to go hit the button, I can just change the game myself. Maybe if it had a little remote to switch games I would actually use it.

I would have loved to see more tests with "game resume". What I mean by that is trying if the games boot up right after the console has been put to aleep.
Me thinks it’s a smidge too expensive for what it is and not being a well known company with reputation of good build and reliability
The only issue I have with it is the inability to switch games remotely with the controller. You still have to get up to press the button, which I feel defeats the purpose.
Conceptually this is pretty cool. But a couple of issues with it...
Since it's designed to be used in docked mode, having to push the button on top of it means having to get up anyway, which you would also have to do to change out the game card...unless you somehow have a set up were the dock is physically near where you are sitting. So it doesn't add much convenience over having to get up and change out the game card.
Also, I wish this could be used in portable mode. Maybe they could make a version with a smaller footprint (maybe remove the storage slots and only have the 4 game card slots) and allow it to attach to the Switch somehow. Though there is the issue of it needing to be powered through the USB. So I'm not sure what the work-around for that would be.

You can use a USB-C to USB-A and a third party stand to set the Switch up
I was hearing do not switch the games with the button unless you close out of them because it can create corruption issues.
I have a gamester game changer for the GBA advance. Think it holds 3 games. Worked good as a grip too.

So I got this product and it’s good except I can’t put my switch in sleep mode. I have to fully power it off or unplug the card reader which is kinda of a pain.

Because I don't want to always get up & press the button when I'm chill in bed playing on the TV. Please can you test it out on finding out if it's set to read game card 1 like can you load up game 2 without pressing the button?

I had a different brand. Maybe that was the problem? But when I turned the switch off the multi card reader turned off and then turned my switch back on. I just ended up returning the product.

Would be cool if it did like 10 games and not attach to the dock (kinda like a USB hub that sits next to your pc). Switch dock doesnt take up too much space, so having the "dongle" next to it would be fine

If I have to get up to press a button to Switch the cartridge, what's even the point of this device when I can simply swap out the cartridge like normal? It's also useless if you prefer playing in handheld mode.

This is cool and I think I'm going to get one. I play Splatoon 3 daily and my son likes to play Mario Kart 8 all the time and then my wife likes to play Animal Crossing. Swapping carts frequently gets obnoxious. This doesn't look very portable though, but hey, I honestly wouldn't expect a game changer to be.

I don't think you can. already bought one and it feels flimsy as hell that said not sure i'd recommend this product.

There are room for 8 games, why wasted 4 spaces??? If they are serious, it should have room for 20 or 30 games. Physical collectors would love it. Maybe there are some limitation on the tech.

I would get this, but I never play Docked.
I wouldn't recommend pressing the button while a game is on because it can corrupt the data and harm your switch overtime. You have to close the game application first.

Honestly Nintendo should have done this via the dock much earlier in the switch lifespan rather than a third party making something at this point I've already home brewed and load from an sd card for convenience
I don't mean to undermine somebody's engineering efforts, but why the hell aren't the 4 slots on the front? Or at least the top? I'd rather have no spare slots and have 4 connected ones on the front than 4 connected and 4 spares on the back. Kinda a pain to swap them out.

Ok so now you need to buy 5 of them and plug one into the switch and the other 4 into each game switching slot. So in theory you could change between 16 game cartridges lol
Buying several of those might be a good idea if a person has young kids that want to play different games so the parents do not have to worry about the kids constantly swapping game cards with stuff on them or ones that they could of got wet so they do not damage the card slot.
yeah the constant removal and putting in games is an issue of concern. Little kids change their minds every few minutes and not exactly careful when jamming carts in and out and don't really appreciate that the carts cost 60 a pop and money is not a concern. Problem is the system feels almost like a hacked together project and not sure how much damage this might be doing to the switch over time.

They shoulda made it 8 slots instead of 4, and made it so that the tab to feed into the console was retractable. And a remote for wireless game switching. Interesting concept though!

Everything about this appeals except the price... Over 40 GBP from my part of the world. Just can't justify it. Maybe a sale?
bought this but the novelty of it wore off quickly. Got to leave the cover flap for the slot pulled off and got low key worried/concerned it with time become loose and the fit not as snug when you need to tuck it back on. As far as it works yeah it does but I'm not sure if this would damage the system with time or its just my irrational fear. Also have to carefully remove it etc every time if you want to take it on the go. Not really for those who swap out using it at home and on the go, better if you have a dedicated system. Also 4 slots is really not that much. Would prefer if someone disassembled the switch and made available a casing structure that does this and more stable and not with cheap plastic. A custom case which as a jukebox is built better as this thing feels flimsy with the loose connector cable.
