    APW2700:
    1) For anyone wondering how to set the idle screw to factory, it is 15 complete 360-degree turns counter-clockwise from fully seated position.
    2) For the pilot air/fuel mixture screw (black plastic screw on the carb), it is 4-1/2 turns counter-clockwise from fully seated position.
Due to optimal emission settings from the factory, these aren't recommended to be adjusted from their factory settings, but if by chance they have gone off their factory setting for some reason, the info above will help.

Hi. I see two places for putting oil. Both have yellow screw on plugs. One has the dip stick and other does not. I started putting oil in the holes that doesn't have a dip stick. Is that ok?

      Good Morning Sellerjax,
You are fine - both fill crankcase - we simply have two options to aid in servicing ease and in case engine is used in a different pressure washer frame.
Remember to follow oil change recommendations in your manual (first oil change is always important) to assure engine gives you long life.
Any other questions, please let me know. Enjoy your new pressure and thank you for buying one of our units!

When I try filling the 0.6 L of oil through the filler hole as shown in this video, it only takes about 300 mL and keeps running back out.

Hello Joseph, First - thank you for buying one of our pressure washers. Second - sorry for the delay to respond to your concern. Please know that each and every engine/unit is tested at time of manufacture prior to shipping. It is filled with proper weight and quantity of oil and small amount of fuel, started then shut down and fluids drained. In some cases, there is a residual amount of oil that remains.
Your 196cc engine has an oil capacity of .6L when empty but if there was a little oil leftover - it could overflow. Either way - there is nothing to be concerned about. The important item is just to make sure the oil level resides within the hash mark area on the yellow dipstick shown at time slot 3:05 of video.
Let me know if you have any other questions Joseph.

A-iPower Corporation Which oil brand do you all recommend when it has to be replaced. I am having problems finding 10w-30 non-detergent oil. Is Castrol GTX 10W-30 conventional oil appropriate? The literature at the back of this Castrol product says "Castrol GTX 10W-30 is specially engineered to prevent the harmful build-up of sludge, reduce oil deposits and provide daily protection for your engine."

    • @a-ipowercorporation1454
      @a-ipowercorporation1454  6 років тому +2

      Hello Joseph M.,
We receive lots of questions regarding type and grade of oil to use. Your Castrol GTX is a perfect selection. Make sure it is 10W-30. We are asked if we suggest use of synthetic and we say while it won't harm your engine - it is not necessary to spend the extra money for it.
My input - use a conventional 10W-30 and I always look for a "Service Classification" (found in round circle on back of bottle) of SJ, SL or SN (SN being the best - your Castrol GTX has a SN rating so good selection).
In some of my small engines, I will use a semi-synthetic blend 10W-30 if I find a brand name SN rating on sale but spending the extra money is not needed.
Most importantly - follow service interval on page 26 of your manual - and changing your oil every 6 months or 100hrs of use (or sooner if used in severe conditions). People often forget that oil has a shelf life once used in engine and impurities from combustion process begin to seep in to oil from use.
Hope this helps! Enjoy your new pressure washer...

Any advice on adjusting the idle? Approximately how many turns counter-clockwise from when the idle screw is turned right in and jamming? I am sure there is an approximate setting at the factory. Thanks so much for any help with this.

      Hello Joseph M,
I wanted to get some initial info back to you asap while I await our service director's response.
Please know, due to organizations such as CARB and the EPA, all our engines (and our competitors too - not just our engines) are preset and certified at the factory due to strict emissions mandates. As a result they should not be adjusted / should not need to be adjusted.
If, however, you are having issues with your unit not holding an idle/rough idle, I’d suggest removing your float and cleaning it out and also the jet. If these are dirty, they will inhibit flow of fuel and cause poor running / low and rough idle conditions.
I am still tracking down the idle screw OEM spec from our service director - in the meantime, I did want to pass the above info on to you. I do expect his response today. In short - as long as the carb stays clean all is good. It’s always a clogged jet or passage port that will make the engine run erratically.
      More as it comes in,
      Joe

      Hello Joseph M.,
As mentioned in earlier post - here are the details if there is a need to readjust idle screw - this came from our service director: Seat the idle screw then back out 15 full turns.

Good day, 15 full turns (360-degree turns) of the idle screw from seated position took the screw right out. This cannot possibly be correct.

I've had this for a couple years now, and I have so much trouble with it. Twice I've had to take it to get the carb cleaned out after sitting for long period of time. I notice in you video that it tends to vibrate and move around, it shouldn't do that, mine does it to. I have to put something ( a towel) under the foot so it stays put and doesn't bounce it's way into my pool. Also, it's so hard to start, runs rough, and if I put the choke in the off position, like in this video, the engine shuts off. Can anyone help me understand why I am having all these problems?
    Thanks.

      Good Morning Mom T.,
Saw your posts from yesterday and want to reach out.
First - I had trouble finding your post but received the notification about throttle lever. Does your model match the unit in this video above? Newer models of our APW2700 have a different throttle system.
Second - Either way - it does sound like you are having fuel delivery issues. Was a fuel additive used or fuel drained in unit after sitting for long period of time? In your manual on page 27, we explain the importance of adding fuel stabilizer explaining fuel may become stale / varnish if stored in unit longer than 30 days. This coats the inside of the carb bowl and inhibits flow when trying to start/run. This may happen in any engine - not just our engine. To make this matter worse, some areas (such as here in WI), we use ethanol in our fuels. Ethanol attracts water to fuel and also has different evaporation characteristics than regular gas, further adding to the importance of fuel stabilizers/draining fuel is unit is in storage.
I add stabilizer if I know any of my engines sitting longer than 30 days or make it a point to start at least once in that timeframe. If storing over winter (6 months) - I drain fuel/run fuel dry before putting in rafters.
RE: vibration - it appears your situation could be excessive and maybe the result of an engine running roughly. Was the carb bowl cleaned prior to use again this season? How many hours are on unit? I wonder if spark plug could use a cleaning as it can become soiled due to running too lean/rich.
      Conclusion:
If your engine is hunting or running only when choke is on - you do have a carb issue. If you could, feel free to reach out to our Service Director - Oscar. Reach him at 855-888-3598 or email support@a-ipower.com. He'll help direct you to service center or way/s to correct issue.
      I hope this helps?
