Ha! That's a cool story. Thanks for sharing / posting CBH. I have its predecessor in my garage with same 80cc engine. It has been a great little workhorse - recently running neighbor's dad's fridge for 14 hrs non-stop when he lost power without a hiccup - just added gas. It sounds like you know what you are doing but keep fuel fresh by starting 1/month if you can and/or I try and find non-ethanol fuel for all my small engine products. Thank you again, A-iPower

Hello DoraDean, To answer your question - what is the socket size for the spark plug plug that comes in your SC2000i Yamaha powered inverter? Both the Champion L95YC and NGK BP4H have a flat hex size (socket size) of: 21mm OR 13/16" If you are doing some maintenance on your unit - recall the crankcase capacity is .4L / .42 QT / 13.4 oz. I just looked up amazon, is NGK BP 4HS the same as the part number you provided? It's got a S behind the H, are the two equivalent? Also, where can I typically buy generator parts if needed? Can I also get the gap and torque spec for that spark plug please. Another question-- I just test ran the generator to see how long I can run a 8000btu (8.2 amps) window air conditioning unit on a full tank of gas. After a little over two hours, the gas gauge came down to empty. But I can still hear some gas left inside. But two hours is less than what I had expected to get out of a tank of gas. Now I need to find a way to extend fuel run this unit. Where can I purchase a genuine fuel cap should I want to do some modification to the cap but still want to keep the original one as a backup? Again, thanks for your help.

@@doradean3097 Hello Again DoraDean, More good questions - first - RE: Spark plug, know this unit comes from factory with a Torch E5T. You will see just above the spark plug entry point on unit case, a decal which provides OEM plug along w/ the Champion equivalent L95YC and NGK BP4H. While many will debate which is better plug - I always provide Champion or Autolite as these are most commonly found at local hardware stores (at least by me in SE WI). The decal also provides the GAP info which is .028" / .7mm but didn't include torque as so many just snug it up. Torque to: 20.0 N.m / 14.8 ft lb. RE: BP4H vs BP4HS - the ‘S’ determines a Standard 2.5mm Copper Core. I believe they are interchangeable but not having tested the BP4HS - I'd look for OEM, non-s plug or Champion L95YC plugs. An 8000BTU a/c unit like you said requires 8.2 or about 984 watts. This unit should run about 6 hrs when output is around 800w. Your 2 hours does appear a bit low but are other factors at plays such as running at higher altitude will decrease run times and a less efficient A/C unit could consume more power, etc. This unit is just like a car - the more you hit the throttle - the more gas being consumed. RE: aux. fuel tank to extend run times: there are many after market items to do this but we do not recommend due to liability, EPA and emissions concerns. You'd need to research these on your own. Hello Ap2054, If it is running rough - I wonder if it could be a fuel issue? Recently, I had an issue with a tank of gas in my car when engine started running very rough after I had filled at local gas station. Calling station - their water filter had gone out. To combat this, I added a fuel treatment designed to dissipate water in fuel and it solved issue almost immediately. Know ethanol based fuels attract moisture - not good. I always suggest non-ethanol fuels if available for all small engines. Hello Dorothy, Sorry to hear there is fuel coming out of the carb drain tube. If I understand the situation properly - the hose you are referring to is connected carb bowl. Is fuel is leaking from this tube - I am thinking the float must be stuck. Tap the carb float bowl with screwdriver handle to try and break it free then try to start as sometimes in transit the unit can get jostled/dropped which can cause this issue. Good point - sound can be very subjective and is affected by ambient noise (such as the birds) and also where the unit is being used. I think in this video - if the guy had shot this with unit sitting on grass vs. on his drive, it would have been perceived to have been quieter since the grass area would have soaked up the sound while the concrete allows the sound waves to bounce and reverberate. Hello Jon, We recommend SAE Grade 10W-30. Know the crankcase capacity of the AP5000 is 16.9oz or .5L. Many people ask if we recommend synthetic oil for our OHV engines and I always suggest this is up to the owner but I personally use a name brand (Valv, Havoline, Mobil, etc) 10W-30 semi-synthetic as the extra cost of the full synthetic is not necessary. Lastly - know this unit has low oil shutdown. It will not start / or shut itself off if oil fall below certain level. Hope this helps - Cheers, A-iPower

Hello Wolf, To answer your question - where is the choke lever? As you look at the control panel, notice the engine on/off switch in lower lefthand corner - under that is the air cleaner cover. Know that yellow wires are typically ground wires and while they serve some safety purposes - they are not always required to run. For this 459cc 4 Cycle engine - we recommend using SAE 10W-30 APISJ oil for best performance. Other high-quality detergent oils (APISJ or higher) are acceptable. Do not use special additives. Ambient temperature determines the proper oil viscosity for the engine - for example, if running in extreme cold/hot (under -0 and below and above 100), it is recommended using a full synthetic. I personally use a semi-synthetic 10W-30 from name brand (Hav., Mobil, Val.) in all my small engines. Also, know the crankcase capacity in this engine is 1.1L / 1.16 Qt. / 37 oz. - and has low oil shutdown. Engine will not start if oil level is too low. Hopes this helps. A-iPower - Milwaukee, Wisc.

Hello Modder, The clear hose that routes next to the oil filler neck is coming form the carb. This hose allows user to drain most of the fuel from the carb. Loosen the drain screw found on side of the carb float and then collect fuel via that clear hose - the extra length allows user to route open end to a container to collect overflow of fuel. However, I often want to assure the float is fully evacuated of fuel (since we have ethanol fuel in our area which attracts moisture) and will loosen the nut at bottom of float bowl in addition to using drain screw and hose. Hello KQ, You are correct - while most of the larger, portable generators have fuel shut off valves, many/most inverters do not. As you may see - the inside is tight and fuel tank is integral to system and an inline fuel valve would be hard to place/access/use. There is an easy work around. First - syphon excess fuel from the tank. Once done, open side panel to locate carb float bowl, which is easily accessible. Locate the drain plug on bottom of bowl, loosen to drain remaining fuel. Once done, make sure the fuel cap air vent is set to off and store unit in as dry location as possible. Hope this helps - A-iPower, Milwaukee

Hello Drewrys, Thank you for purchasing one of our units. To answer your question and assuming you have our AP5000 with the 223cc engine - please know your oil capacity in this model is .6 qt. Regarding what oil is recommended, we spec an SAE 10W-30 conventional oil. I personally will use a name brand semi-synthetic 5W-30 if bing used in colder climates / during winter or a 10W-30 if being used in milder climates as a semi-sen. is not much more than a conventional oil. @@ZOOM-ly9bp Нигде не могу найти информацию какое для генератора заливать масло, некоторые производители пишут заливать только специальное масло который идет для садовой техники, под воздушное охлаждение. Я тоже думаю залить автомобильное масло. Спасибо за рекомендацию.
