I’ve always loved how he sounds more intense and more serious about working his way back as the song goes on
Frankie had one of those voices that are just perfect and let’s show the background singers and band some love. Those harmonies make me want to put on a leather jacket lol
Well, go ahead and put on a leather jacket. You shall remember old times later if you dress the way you used to. I wear jeans and my canvas jacket at home and with tennis shoes to remember better those times I was young.
gumshoesoul at that time in New Jersey it actually might lol
NINJAGUAR growing up I thought that was the original lol. I rock with both
Jorge Mario Rodas I’ve been a record collector for years so I’ve always appreciated the feel of music before my time
I is w
I was a teen driving my own 57 Chevy that I put a 327 stick on the floor driving it to school and out on dates listening to The Four Seasons. What wonderful memories.
Was it a 250 or 300 horsepower 327?
Thanks Dad for giving me good taste.
My Dad made me listen to this when I was a kid. Now I love it.
THIS is music
ye boiii my dad always played frankie valli songs in the car and at home and now i listen to them a lot :)
Same. Have my dad to thank for all this great music
My dad listened to Tommy James And The Shondells, Four Seasons, and Beach Boys when I was real young. Time capsule music right here.
Frankie was insanely talented and so were the Four Seasons. I listen to them all them all the time.
Funnily enough, Mr. Valli is still alive and apparently is still performing. He is currently 90 years old. The only members of the band who have died are Nick Massi and Tommy Devito, the ladder of which died of COVID in 2020.
I can't get over is pitch like when he hits those high notes I just have a tear come fall out my eye
yes yes
Everyone should be open to listening to music across generations and genres. I grew up in 80s and enjoy music from 1930 and later. I'm not too much on single groups but The Four Seasons is one that has multiple tunes on my playlist.
Frankie has a great voice The Four Seasons they all sound so great together
This song was way ahead of its time
I've always been obsessed with the horns in the background
Hell yeah!
Youre not the only 1
That's horn-y
same here its like a super hero!!
Saw these guys live about 1972. Great show
Just saw Jersey Boys this afternoon. OH MY GOD it was incredible
Another masterpiece from one of the greatest groups of all time
No don't like dogs
@@SylviaPaez-j3m So you hate your family
72 next Friday, so glad I lived through so much great music. Frankie was fabulous!
The great memories of the sixties come crashing back. What a time!
They just don't make music like this anymore. True classics i could never stop listening to even if I tried.
One of the old time great groups
Danny Dreamer, one of my favorites, along with Jay Black and the Americans!👍😎🤙
Thats because no one white can be in the arts now lol 😂 🙊
The hot years of these guys tracks almost exactly with my three years in the Army. Love the Seasons.
Beautiful song by them
I hadn’t heard this in years and now have some excellent headphones. Wow, I forgot how great the horns section played in this tune.
My father loved Frankie Valli and so do I. Happy Father's Day to all the Dads. RIP Dad.
My favorite Four Seasons song. Great uplifting song.
AWESOMELY BEAUTIFUL, JUST BEAUTIFUL, THE VOICES SAY IT ALL,BEAUTIFUL THIS IS MUSIC IM OLD SCHOOL, THERE'S NOTHING LIKE THIS MUSIC, BELLOS.
Love you momma. Miss you. 🎶 She knew the best tunes!
Both The Spinners and The Four Seasons do phenomenal versions of this song! I can’t pick a favorite between the two
I certainly can, it’s the one I’m watching
@@wilsoniothegreat6162 I don’t think you really can compare, but if we’re picking favorites, the Spinners really perfected the song.
@@beansntoastyt2616 i like the slower paced version of this song but I can understand what you’re saying
Always any original. But I do appreciate the spinners version, one of the few rehashed songs that was absolutely superb.
@@ReedJacobusJameson The spinners remade this in the 70’s. Frankie Valli has this out in the mid 60’s man. “What is this” The damn ORIGINAL
Good song and still one of my favorites, despite all the water that has passed under the bridge of my life. The song is meaningful and still very good to hear and enjoy.
One of my favorite songs of all time! Love you guys God bless
Haven't heard this song in a really long ass time. This is a blast from the past.
This was my absolute favorite song in Junior High School, and I don't know why. I just loved it.
The group had impressive talent and best of all, they developed music and anticipated generational changes in the music. a lot of vision
Bob Gaudio was/is the silent genius. The way they worked together was synchronistic magic.
and they developed a partnership based solely on a handshake which still exists today. Now that's special. No contracts.
@@Nestor123057 It worked for Jersey boys but I would never recommend not getting it in writing EVER.
Agreed, but he didn't write this one
One of the best choruses ever. The whole song could have just consisted of that.
When I hear this song brings back memories growing up in the past .music is fantastic
I just seen the video of the nurses at Van Dyk Medical Center sing & dance to this song, it was outstanding, well executed, thanks you nurses & staff for a job well done, Thanks for all you do!!!
Yeah people are dying so they dance. You’re a moron.
Saw him last night in concert … sooo good !
Im 31 years old and this is my favorite song by them and long with sherry, walk like a man and rag doll i would love to see frankie valli and the four seasons live in concert someday when the coronavirus is gone for good ROCK ON
Saw frankie at the O2 London about four years ago and his voice is still top notch. One of the best concerts I’ve been to 😀
My discreet collection has all four!
Good god what a voice
Yeah, I always thought so.
The last chorus for me, is the minute of power. So much energy and meaning. Makes me want to pull out all the stops and go full steam ahead. Listen to that, it is literally full commitment to the end for this girl.
Nice summary of the song, way cool!
End for this girl ..huh wtf phyco
There’s nothing like listening to song’s you were brought up with no shouting just decent singing. Maybe if kid’s listened to song’s like this they would respect this music.
Love his music
One of my mothers favorites.thanks.
Brilliant song remember buying it on 45rpm back in the day ❤
I enjoy the old songs of the 60's. Never could get into the songs of today. They just don't have the right nack for good music.❤❤❤❤❤❤
I remember when the song was a hit. such a great heartbreaking song.
i am in total shock that this was the original! i always grew up thinking The Spinners Created this song!
I love the high pitch of Frankie at the end 💯
This song is something special, about trying to recover a lost love. Sometimes we make mistakes and hurt those we love, by our attitudes or words, but then we realize what we did, and have to ask our partner to forgive us.
Those pedal notes rock so hard!
One great song after another.
1966, omg I'd crank this song up on my transistor radio...lol
To be young again in the 60's......what a great time
1980 as a little girl I would crank this song up and dance with my mom ❤️
Ndwcmbp
I did the same thing as you in the 60s
I had a badassed 9 transister AM andFM radio
I didn't think I could love her, but instead of telling her honestly, I showed it regrettably. Never thought I'd be this crushed over losing her, after all she was a genuinely great person. Luckily she cooled and suggested we still be friends, which relieved my guilty heart, for I haven't lost her respect totally and neither the precious friendship we built. If I may perhaps love her someday, I'll be happy to earn her trust from the start over, the effort ahead is what drives me to it. I'm working my way back to you (babe)!
Great group
Wow! I never knew this was the original! I previously only knew of the Spinner’s version.
I love Frankie and The Four Seasons! 💘 Beautiful version 🎶
Not a version its the song .anything after is a version
Great jam
Watching the movie about the four seasons right now!Wow I miss this music!
Love this song
Bob will tell you it was all smooth sailing right up until we hit the iceberg with Tommy and the $150 thousand. That's Bob. Who was always looking so far into the future he never saw what was going on under his nose. Fact is, the trouble didn't start at the Sullivan Show. It started long before that.
I was going through a real life crisis and this song describes me perfectly…I’m so glad we’re back together again now though!!!♥️
Ahhh bless you 🙏 that’s lovely x
Never looking back! Gone as gone can be gone.
I have every song they ever made. I'm 66 now and still listen to them. And I listen to tommy James and the shondells
This is one of my all time fave 4 Seasons songs...this and Save it For Me...
Beautiful!!!!!!!......................
Lyrics;
Working my way back to you babe
With a burning love inside
Yeah, I’m working my way back to you babe
And happiness that died, I let it get away
Paying everyday
When you were so in love with me
I played around like I was free
Thought I could have my cake and eat it too
But how I cried over losing you
See me hanging on
But I ain’t about to go living my life without you
Every day I made you cry
I’m paying girl, til the day that I die
I keep working my way back to you babe
With a burning love inside
I’m working my way back to you babe
And happiness that died, I let it get away
Paying everyday
I used to love to make you cry
It made me feel like a man inside
But if I’d been a man in reality
You’d still be here babe, loving me
Now the nights are long
And I only ain’t too strong babe, I just miss you so
And you’re too proud, ya won’t give in
But when I think about all I’ve been in
I keep working my way back to you babe
With a burning love inside
I’m working my way back to you babe
And happiness that died, I let it get away
Paying everyday
Yeah, yeah, yeah
Working my way back to you babe
With a burning love inside
I’m working my way back to you babe
And happiness that died, oh, how I cried
Working my way back to yo babe…
your lyrics have multiple errors
Oh take me back to my youth! Black colored 45. Stack up high on the turntable with the little adapter in the center of the record. Happy times. 😊❤

And in 2022
and in 2023
gracias bar de las grandes esperanzas:)
😍 Thank you 😊!!!!!!!!!
Oh that bass sax!
This song has a very 60s feel to it. I really enjoy that part of it as it seems more like a teen movie soundtrack
The Spinners is the version I am more acquainted with that has a more mature feel to it (1979). It's dofferent but it's also its own
I'm glad to have discovered the original and found enjoyment in both
Wonderful song. You guys had the hit first, im pretty certain. Then later on the Spinners did a cover on it. I never get tired of listening to Frankie the Four Seasons.
Have heard song in years love it bring me back to 80....😃❤
I kind of knew who the four seasons were before I watched Jersey boys, btw you gotta watch it, but now I’m a fanatic
It’s my favorite movie now after I watched it before it went off Netflix hell I even watched 2 times a day for 2 months

trombone is great... unlike other songs that need more trombone
Absolutely
This song is good and pretty good to
O'G3NE does a version that is just out of this world.
Jersey version of Mo-Town. I've loved this song for 30+ years.
I was today (50) years old when I found out that the four seasons recorded this song first. How old were you all?
Fifty-five years later, still love this!
❤😊
Happy 90th birthday Frankie Valli!!!
Really? 90? God!
Crazy my dude has been at it over 70 years! Frankie gotta hit performing in the triple digits!!!!!
