It just looked like a shadow. She didn’t know what it was, and it wasn’t registering on her ship. But the time she realized it was actively getting in the ship, it had jammed her ability to call for help

So subversive I love it. The "unstoppable inky shadow force from beyond the univers with a scary face that's coming to consume us all" from stuff like The Fifth Element, but it acts entirely out of an alien sense of compassion and altruism.
I like how this faction is basically if you ever wanted to play the Protomolecule from The Expanse as an intelligent and dynamic alien race.

Damn i love the scene where she looks at the whole fleet and says "Everything is in order" it gives me goosebumps everytime. Its so well done and menacing but calming at the same time
Realistic sci-fi:
Pilot: There's a UFO cloud in the middle of space, it looks active and hostile.
Command, after Pilot 9 was eaten: Pilot Nine, report your status? Pilot Nine? Report.
Pilot: Command, this is Pioneer Nine. Everything is in order. Out.
Command, out of mic: "Pioneer Nine is compromised. How do we proceed?"
Thing is, they couldn’t see it and she didn’t know what it was. It also seemed to jam the radio as it was coming in, so her panicking about that didn’t get sent back either.
also in the end when there is a literal fleet ready to blast her up, they also seemed to get controlled after the last radio call.
You know Amplitude is hella trustworthy when I would pre-order anything from them without hesitating and sleep well at night.

This expansion has sucked up my whole weekend. I was playing Lego with my son and I made a UC ship from Lego, with rotating turrets. All black with blue highlights. My son thought it was so cool. He's not quite ready to ES2, but soon enough. :)

@@DutchGuyMike He has now played ES2 with my assistance, of course he picked UC as his first faction to play. I put him on a small map on the easiest level so he could learn to play.

@@lastboss4268 not so much. He likes Plants v Zombies now. I'm sure that he'll tire of that and look for something differnt after a while.
I like how the Pilgrims are still in the game. They were always an interesting faction to me, Maybe one day we will see Endless Space 2 take on features like you can find in Stellaris, with the ability to 'elevate' minor empires.

Ironically Amplitude avoided the "Over and out" mistake, unlike many other, more military focused works.

Music starting at 0:51 sounds incredibly similiar to soviet "The Mystery of the Third Planet" sci-fi cartoon soundtrack. Also, one of the main characters from book series on which cartoon is based is a female pilot and explorer.
Could it be a reference or am i imagining things?

The song is actually a sci-fi remix of the chiptune song "Lady Shaft" by Flybyno from Dungeon of the Endless' OST; however, I do see the resemblance.

The Corruption from the Riftborn is something else.
The Coroz Corruption is actually the effect of the Grey Owl's explosion.

I know that is Lady Shaft, but not the one from Dungeon of the Endless: it's a new sountrack remastered with ES2 theme like he does with Flawless Theory. FlyByNo better release all remastered Dungeon's OSTs with this expansion, because you'll be damn sure i'm buying this one!
