4 Levels of Chicken Sandwich: Amateur to Food Scientist | Epicurious
Вставка
- Опубліковано 15 чер 2024
- We challenged chefs of three different skill levels - amateur Shariff, home cook Julie, and professional chef Danielle Alex of Diversity Kitchen - to make us a mouthwatering chicken sandwich. Once each level of chef had presented their creation, we asked food scientist Rose to explain their choices from an expert's perspective. Which chicken sandwich are you going with?

Julie when using her mallet on her chicken:
“Be annoyed when you do this, not angry.”
Culinary words of wisdom.
Honestly, she couldn’t explain it better. It makes sense and it’s effective!
"Wooooooooooooooo!" 😂 God I love Julie. 🥰

They stopped beating kids in the 90s.
It also serves as a perfect instruction for spanking your sexual partner tbh
Level 0: okay so first we gonna go down to Popeyes...

honestly though, even though it's fast and convenient it tastes more like a level 2 tier food
I'm Level 0.5: I go to a Steamboat or a Japanese shabu shabu. :)

I like this cast. Their voices and how they speak is really warm and welcoming, kinda like they were your friendly neighbors who like to invite you for lunch or dinner and share cooking tips with you.
The voice of the lvl 3 chef is kinda annoying ngl.

The level one chef was a delight to watch. I hope they keep bringing him back for more episodes. That was the sandwich I would've chosen to eat too.
I was thinking the exact same thing.
Yeah I much preferred the level one sandwich.
In this post Bon Appetit era, I'm pretty sure we're going to start seeing him, and people like him, a lot more. I'm not complaining. It just feels as though the cast is becoming a lot more diverse in recent episodes, and I wonder if that would have happened had things not imploded over at BA.
I'm always concerned for new people as it usually takes 2 or 3 episodes to really get their personality to flow. Like early Frank or Emily or even Lorenzo, they were pretty standard, but I look forward to seeing the new guys more.
I go with level 2 i hate lettuce
Level 1 chef might be my favorite not only because he’s my cousin but because i know his food is genuinely off the hook🥳
People are simping for your cousin in the comments.
Oh he's your cousin? Was he excited to do this video?
Your cousin was amazing!!!!
I've filmed him before and he is a lovely human and I'm so glad everyone in the comments likes him too!
I accidentally hit dislike and hopefully fixed it with a like after, so if my dislike shows up, please disregard! Your cousin's sandwich looks really good!

Next up: 4 levels of Toast!
Well they need level 1s that can actually try cook. You making cereal and being too lazy to cook doesn’t mean you’re a level one
@dageretdavid you clearly ignored the negative symbol infront of the 5.
you're*
Everyone is talking about level 1, but are we not going to talk about how lovely level 3 was?
She's fine until the biryani episode
@@tonykowalski4189 I dont get why people are so pissed about her "biryani," she followed extremely traditional methods that were from a different region than where biryani is typically associated with and she even stated at the start that she was making "her own version" of biryani. It isn't exactly what you would get at an Indian restaurant but it still looked fantastic.
@@JJrockA001 There’s no “own version “ of biryani. If you wanna make a biryani, make a biryani, out of basmati rice. Without basmati rice, it’s just a rice dish with stuff in it
@@tonykowalski4189 exactly like the whole point of the video was to make biryani, I understand she made a non traditional version but that wasn't really biryani, biryani is made with basmati rice so you made a fair point
@@tonykowalski4189 I dont blame her tbh she is not desi, how can she fully understand intricates of our food and culture. It was a mistake by the show to have a non-desi level 3 chef do a very desi dish. If you watch some of the mexican dishes Saul was the level 3 dish which was a good decision. Palak or any other desi level 3 would have been a much better choice for the biryani episode.
Wow the level 2 chef sounds like such a wholesome and nice mom lol.
OH BOI THE STUDIO IS BACK
POG
EASY DUBS
I didnt know im so used to ut it flew past my head
Thank God
I got more excited for the video because of your comment
The level 1 chefs are always so wild because their main connection is just inexperience, but some of them have better "instincts" than others. Like this guy understood the concept of "taste as you go" and adjusted accordingly. And others are like "Look, any mistakes you make can be covered by ketchup".
Are you dissing Emily? 😧
@@Moldycheese16 I assure that I mean this in the, "Aww, what a cute and amusing quirk!" way and not in the, "Lol, look how bad she is," way. Emily is an adorable treasure.
@@luckyfire313 I know, I was just joking
If you cook often, you don't need to measure anything as it's done by sight. Even when I was little, my mom taught me how to cook but never gave me any type of measurements other than make your mistakes and adjust each time until you get it right. Now, when people ask for my recipes, I can't give it to them other than ingredients as I measure everything by sight and how much ingredients are used in making it. The only time you really need to measure is when you're baking bread or cake as that's very precise.
@Faizaan Naseem She's been getting better these days. Sadly losing the ketchup meme tho.
Miss Julie is like a lovely auntie who's just full of love and just wants you to learn how to cook in a wonderfully delightful way. Love her!
I think frank is still raising his own chicken so he can get the chicken breast for this video
He laid the eggs himself.
This is the first time I've ever wanted the Level 1 chef's dish the most (and by FAR)! The others were fine, but when I think of "chicken sandwich," I envision exactly what he made! Perfection!
the level 1 chef is so sweet, you can tell he really cares
just actually cried because Shariff's looks like the best sandwich I've ever seen
I wanna see a video with
Level 1: Sheerif
Level 2: Lorenzo
Level 3: Frank
I’m more of a Onika fan
YES that would be the ultimate trio
If I’m being honest I’d most likely eat Shariff’s sandwich. It’s basic not overcomplicated like the other two just simple, basic and good. Sharriff is by far the best level one chef I’ve seen to.
I agree. Shariff’s chicken frying skills are way above Level 1.
Honestly his was the best looking and would be the one I want. The professional was probably number two and then Julie's
Yes, same here. Tbh i'd like a combination of Danielle's chicken and Sharriff's Sandwich. I Will make it at home, actually.

Yea , baby for the bois level 1 all day long
The only thing I think Shariff could have done is toast that brioche bun with a little butter. Other than that, he could sell that sandwich for $10 a pop.
A solid lineup of chefs in this video. Love to see it.
Julie, you changed my life. I dredge everything in corn starch now! It IS so much better than flour.
I just want to say I really appreciate how Epicurius’s level 4 chef is always so positive about everyone’s cooking, especially Rose!

Danielle made one interesting almost-error.
When making a pesto, you want the nuts to be the last thing added to the processor, so they weigh the other ingredients down and speed up the blending process.
The more time it takes to get the consistency you want, the hotter the ingredients get- the color will go off and the greens can go bitter.
Never knew this! Thanks for the tip.
