The reason most hatters put a dot or two of glue in to hold the liner is because the liner is meant to be replaced after you sweat in it and it gets kinda discolored. It reflects your adventures so I typically don’t replace mine. It keeps your sweat from staining your felt. Great video and great hats!
The felt, if done traditionally, can not wear off. A felt hat is felt fur all the way through, you can get some grease stains that can be cleaned/sanded and bring the felt back to a new look. But it didn’t come off. And as mentioned here before the liner is meant to be replaced, so should not be sewn. 👍🏼
I have a Herbert Johnson Crusader poet in rabbit fur felt, custom and handmade. I've had it for 2 years and it's been through 5 US states since then, and it's held up and weathered up pretty nicely! I'm going to Jerusalem later this year, so that'll be its first abroad trip it will go on! It was a lot of money, but I'm glad I have the original maker hat 😁🤠
Thanks for the review! Unless something has changed since you purchased your Harrison, Thomas lists the Harrison on his site as made from 100% rabbit fur felt - not a 50/50 blend as you suggested. I'm curious as to why he changed that, assuming yours is in fact 50/50? Also, the sweatband should never be sewn in . That part should always be glued. It makes replacing it easier, and your felt takes less damage since it's not sewn in.
Great video. AdVintage was my first “real” Indiana hat as well. However, I will say that the most economic and best Indiana style (if you don’t mind it being not totally screen accurate) is a Stetson Temple fedora. It can be easily steamed and modified to look like an Indiana fedora and in my opinion your cheapest yet quality option.
The Guy knows hats. Has some interesting information, as to what to look for. Also points out a good hat nowadays is not cheap. People seem to think so. A real Hat, will cost some bucks. Get a Hat Custom made? $$$

You mention here that his AdVintage Harrison's are a combination of Rabbit AND Beaver? My first Fedora from Thomas is a Harrison (Last Crusade)

I have these two ADVintage hats, my Young Indy by Broken Skull Hat Co, my Raiders Truck Chase hat by Fedoraiders, my Last Crusade fedoras by Akubra and Tognarelli Vintage Fedoras, a vintage "Lost Ark" by Bollman Hat Co from around 1984 or 85 and then finally my first ever Indy lid is a Dorfman Pacific. The last is one I think we all start out with.

Is that an older Harrison? AFAIK Thomas hasn't stocked the blended felt in a few years and now only offers the 100% rabbit one. But yeah around 2018 he upgraded the line, along with his custom hats. IMO the Harrison is the best budget option for cosplay. If rugged durability is your thing then it's the Akubra, but for cosplay and lighter use it's definitely the Harrison.
I'm unsure of this Harrison's age due to having bought it second hand. But due to it being a blend and Dark sable in going to take a guess and say yes.

They were popular but covid supply issues have been a problem restocking, like everything else. He only gets a new shipment of the rabbit ones in every 6 months or so now. But I also have one of the beaver blends I bought in 2018, and it is a fantastic hat especially for the price.
Crystal Skull. I'm honestly so very happy to have a CS in my collection as it has always been an Indy hat style I'm fond of because of the nostalgia I have for that film and the time in which it came out.

Unfortunately no. Though I have been able to see many fedoras and jackets in person to see and understand both the quality and want for such pieces.

Yes, but the blended felts are no longer offered. Now it's only rabbit.
