I Just cleaned my filters first time couple of weeks ago, after 12000km~8000 miles, like it states in the manual. They were almost clean. Been changing oil every 2000km~1250 miles. Used magnetic drain plug since I bought this second hand in march, with it having 400 miles on the clock. My favorite aftermarket exhaust that btw. Wondering myself if to buy one. I bought a magneto holder and kept the spinner filter in place with that. Got it forehand to eventually change the cam chain tensioner wheel when eventually needed. Those wore in these engines, all though slowly. P. S. Important hint to all monkey owners! do not use the kitaco metal cam chain tensioner wheel, all though it is marketed to last the life time of the chain. Well, it is partially true, because it eats the cam chain and itself and then it is pretty much oil filled with metal bits and bye bye engine. Got this tip from a grom guy who blew his engine with one.
Clean that swingarm bolt too, knock it out as very prone to rust and seizing as barely any grease on from factory so clean and regrease while you have it all off the bike anyway, 2 minute job but worth it.
P.s Beezdeals sell a chrome og Honda heatshield instead of the black original for around 40 quid and really sets that exhaust off, i have the same pipe on mine.

I tried that, heard that one before. Scratced up the back of my clutch cover, failed to wiggle it off no matter how I tried and the just gave up and removed the foot peg.
@@suomenpresidentti yes taking the footpeg off is so much easier at then I use 6 inch hex wrenches with 3/8" socket end. not even close to touching case. I agree with you on not taking it off. Not a good idea if you want to keep the case and bike scratch free..

Seems kinda overkill? For 600 mile it’s just drain oil and replace, the stuff behind the cover doesn’t need to be looked at til 8k miles

The newer bikes have a oil filter so does this still need to come apart and cleaned still?
Oil filters are a consumable item..best to just replace it while you’re in there
You put the cap backward on your oil spinner Look at your video when you took it apart

Just to save you time next time, you don’t need to remove the footrest to get the clutch cover off.
