He abandoned his son to strangers because he was human, in this movie. Nobody was like you a God, king of three gods. You couldn't took care of him instead of using a foster care system... weird.
Yeah, in the real story, Hercules was constantly hunted down by Hera just for existing, and he consistently killed people on accident with his brute strength and short fuse. The real Meg and her kids with Herc were killed by him while he was in a fit of madness caused by Hera. Pretty tragic to me.

This part they were singing about is somewhat true. Zeus defeated the titans and drove them off. The rest of the story of Herc gets fucked up because they can't have him murdering his wives. Also why they made Hades the villain is beyond me. I guess he's scary cause death?

I think the main problem people have with it is how far out of context that part is. I mean Zeus had a father, after all, so it's not like the first thing he ever did was come into existence and lock away the titans.
