Here is the subject himself.. thank you thank you thank you for so much attention to the details and precious suggestions. Can’t wait to try these in next 2 weeks and update here with improvements..
Hey Mieke, thanks again for all your content. Really great stuff. You asked for video ideas so here is one I would love to see. Focus, footwork and preparation. A lot of videos online focus on swing path, contact and follow through. I would love to hear a pro talking about getting into position. The mindset... How to get that extra time. Especially on the backhand. Great players look like they have so much time. I would love to know the secrets. Again, thanks for all you do. Your channel will keep growing it is great. Keep doing what you do!😃
Just watched this relatively old video, and just realized an added benefit of supinating the thumb farther on the racquet drop for the sake of a flatter contact: safer biomechanics. The more you supinate the thumb, the more you initially load the big triceps and off-load the small middle tendons in the elbow, avoiding injury to those tendons and getting more power in the swing. Yep, I have been through this kind of injury scenario. Thanks for the great tip.
Hey Coach Meike! I loved this video, so much useful stuff. I was surprised that you never returned to the subject of his grip. I have been told specifically that using a more Eastern backhand-leaning Continental was for more spin on kick and slice, and forehand-leaning Continental was to pronate more for a flatter serve (a la The Mighty Pete). So I would have thought that simply changing the grip to a true Continental would make a difference to the racquet angle at contact. The other pointers were super spot-on and the drills are great. I just wondered about the grip, because I do alter mine to get more or less spin, but wonder if I'm maybe wasting my time! Thanks for an awesome channel!
Excellent detailed analysis supported by an informative and easy to follow commentary. The corrective exercises at the end look relevant and straightforward to practice.

You're welcome, and yes, let me know how the serve is going!

That's a great topic! I have a few other videos in the queue before that but that is a really good suggestion. Thank you, Jonathan!

I had to retire bc of shoulder issues. So good technique is so important!

Thank you so much! That is exactly what I’m aiming to do with my videos!
