    Update on Ema’s Serve:
She played a 35K in Miami this week and served much better. Made semis in doubles. Only 4 double faults per match singles & doubles. Second serve problems can be solved, sometimes quickly 🙌

She is a very clear and concise communicator. Love these series because the sync between student and coach is seamless and at an advanced level. As a recreational player stuck at 4.0 level for a decade,I enjoy watching this player's progress because she asks very clear questions and has great idea about her strengths and weaknesses.

He’s an incredible coach. I’ve gone from not being able to serve to having a flat, kick and slice. It took about a year and a half of studying his videos every day for an hour or so but it’s worth it

Nik, thanks for providing us with the “tools” to help with the kick when it falters sometimes mid-match … correction, a lot of the time.😆

on deuce side, her front foot looks almost parallel to the baseline. Is this difficult setup deliberate?

isnt here leg drive just a bit too late? maybe would be better to focus on better rhytm, leg timing then the aggresive load with hip, cause I think there is not much benefit in that if the leg drive is too late. Maybe the hand with the ball also could work better, they guy that fixed Sabalenka serve talked about this common mistake - the palm of the hand/inside part of hand should not be pointed to the sky during trophy position, should point to the court and then you tuck it in to your chest - but I dont know maybe thats a small detail

I think it was John Newcombe who said if you are nothittingdouble faults, you are not goingfor enough on your second serve.Good work Ema. Nik,is it good for her soulder to hit so many serves comsecutively.

hi nikola - what is your height and weight? do you know your serve speed as measured on a handheld Ball Coach Radar or speed gun?
re ema. when you have a big gun: shoot it!
say that you have a big killer FH. you *use* it. sometimes you'll miss, that's the nature of the game: as is having a bad streak. you'll have FH errors, and serve errors: that happens when you use your weapon and you're having a bad streak. recognize the bad streak and conjure up ways to fix it or get out of that rut.

Many, perhaps too many, good points. It's clear that Ema is emotional and upset. She needs a good experience. Missing too many serves? Put the tossing hand and ball in the same frame, then focus on hitting the back of the ball. Bread and butter serve is a combo of kick and slice. Hit the ball 8 o'clock-1 o'clock. Produces speed with safety. spin Works every time. Good luck, Ema.

Not applicable to Ema -- but ... Father Time isn't the friend of aging tennis players, hence a major uptake of pickleball -- A study, which tracked thousands of different molecules in people aged 25 to 75, detected two major waves of age-related changes at around ages 44 and again at 60. The findings could explain why spikes in certain health issues including musculoskeletal problems ...

I get the impression that she is becoming a bit discouraged because it is not really working for her. She might be better off focusing on placing the ball rather than on kick and slice.
