- How do you return the serve out wide? Where do you stand? Where should you place your return?
The serve in tennis has undergone a big evolution from just a ball to get the point started to now being a HUGE weapon for servers. How do you take away the advantage when you're the returner. In this video, I will show you what your best options are to start the point out on your terms as returner.

Great stuff! Together with Nick from Intuitive Tennis by far the best You Tube tennis coach. Grüße aus Deutschland.
Vielen Dank, das freut mich zu hören!
Thank you very much. I’m following your lessons. Hope one day my trainer will say “.. Steve., you are the goat!;”);
Love this tactic information. Not many videos on YT talk about this. 👍👍. It almost seems like a trend in WTA to serve out wide these days.
It's both men and women who use this. If Federer comes back, watch his matches. He goes wide on deuce a ton.
@@MeikeBabelTennis Exactly. And that Wimbledon 2019 first match point, Federer on deuce court served out wide to djokovic, djokovic returned to the middle of the court to Federer’s backhand, instead of backhand, Roger ran around and hit a forehand down the line, and...it sailed wide😔. I wonder if Roger thought about that point and pondering those “what if” now?
Great help 👍
Thank you you videos are always helpful. Respect

What about a cross court short return ? In the serve zone or close to the serve line for example.
😮 The problem with your tactic to hit cross court pass the lowest level of the net is if the server comes to the net on the same path. Unless that return has enough angle and pace, it will be prime volley picking. Better to hit a high lob to buy time to recover or towards the server's feet as he comes to the net.
Sure, but serve and volley just isn’t as common in today’s game. I would imagine you would adapt if you were playing a serve and volleyer.
