I was given an old & new cane by a neighbor & planted them in a pot on my patio. We have a few berries but I'm wondering how successful we will be keeping this black raspberry alive & producing if I leave it in the pot. Any thoughts/advice you can share?
Depending on where you're living they may freeze out if you have cold winters. It will be more difficult to keep them well watered in the summer as well because pots tend to dry out a lot faster. If you don't have a yard to plant them in the pots are a great idea for at least a small amount of your very own berries, if you have a yard I would plant them in the ground.
Thanks for the info!
