Justin, thanx, it might have already been discovered by someone or yourself, but i've figured out the thickness option what it does... by the way i find your video's extremely helpful to learn twinmotion thank you for that!!! if you walls are white and the colour you've selected for your cut is black it's much easier to notice what the thickness option do, it increase or decrease the section plane at the top of the wall, this makes it sooo much easier when you take the image to photoshop to colour in the wall sections so that it looks solid when presenting it to clients.
Awesome Section tool.. ! .. But, in others videos I saw that they do that, in the "eye" icon, and in the house icon, in the View options.. with Path Tracer-- d´You think that is a valid option too ? ..
Thanks a lot! Do you know if we can use the section without letting the sunlight comes to the interior? I just want to so the 3d section interior and I dont want to show the sunlight, the shadow of walls, columns. Thank you,
Excellent as always! I've playing with the Thickness control... well, as far as I can see, it creates a transition between the clipping plane and the model... I adjust it between 1-2 inches.
is it possible to appy the section cube to selected objects? or does it only cut through everything? also, is it possible to animate the position/properties of the section tool? thanks :)
Thank you for video! How can I make the ceiling material transparent to the camera, but this should stop the sunlight. I need the effect of light falling only from the windows.
@@TheRenderingEssentials :) maybe in the next version. I have only one idea, put the light in the windows.I want to get the effect as in vray or corona when you can see through ceiling without hard shadows....pin.it/daqcx5h6jnj52z
Unfortunately when I add the section cube it doesn’t actually make a cut. I’m still able to move, rotate, and scale the cube, but even with the Enabled setting turned on it isn’t cutting through my model
Alright so I did a google search and I figured it out! Twinmotion defaults at the low quality setting, but it needs to be on at least medium setting to show section cuts. I believe it’s under Preferences and then Quality Settings
How are you able to rotate(roll) your view like you did near the end of the video? I can't seem to find any documentation about a rolling rotate anywhere.
Hi justin.. i have an issue regarding twinmotion rendering.. i want to render architectural 3d floor plan. But i dont want background to be render. How can i do this.. when i m rendering floor appear in ma render.. plz help me.. waiting for ur reply..
Does anybody have an idea why the section cut element disappears after I place it in my model and release it from my mouse? Same thing happens with all the light elements that I put in. They however remain in the list of things I have in the model (I am not sure what you call the list shown in the collapsible window on the right of screen). Other objects are fine like trees and people. Has anyone encountered this and found a solution? Thanks in advance :)
Dear Justin, I am an architect from Melbourne Australia, I am following your great works in Twinmotion and I am learning a lot from your tutorials. I would like to ask if I can use the sectional cube to reach and arrange objects inside my building? or is there another method that will allow me to reach objects and re-arrange them in a sort of cutout full-floor, building plan layout? Thank you.
As usual, very helpful video. However, as an architectural practice, I would find it pretty pointless to send plans or sections to our clients if we are not able to export them to scale. Any chance Twinmotion provides this facility?
I just do what you say, every step of it. Tools, section, drop the the cube to make a section and Adjust the cube section with the scale Axis. But when i Start to pull it up or down, the model render won't cut like in the videos.maybe there some step i've been missed or some setting maybe.thank you.
@@TheRenderingEssentials hi Justin, there seems to be limited functionality to the view created with this ortho camera. trying to do elevations and site plans for an assignment but cant adjust lighting, FOV, filters, background etc, do you know if im missing something here?
The section box doesnt cut anything in my model, I have tried moving it up and down, sideways etc and it is definetly going through them but not cutting anything in either way. It is enabled, ive also tried changing the thickness even though I am not sure that would affect anything. What could I be doing wrong? Is it only assigned to a specific part?

Thanks a lot, I've trying to direct link from Sketchup with Plan Section for a long time !
Thanks! Yes, the thickness creates a transition area, moving it to zero value will disapear the shading area on the borders.
Thanks for the video! I just cant find the camera tool in order to get a good top view in TM 2020... Do you have some advice please?

very nice!
i was able to find camera align in version 2020 unfortunately there is none.

hey! great tutorial when exporting , can it be scaled to a specific scale? pls reply asap, i have a submission coming up huhu thanks
Export your image to AutoCAD, then align a known measure in your render to the same line in your car drawing
I did it but the walls that are cut appear as thin planes...the thickness of the walls is not seen after the section cubes cuts it
Did you model your walls with thickness?
Yes ofcourse.. exported Revit model
Yes ofcourse.. exported Revit model
@@tanveer101 Sorry - can't help you with that - I've never used a Revit model in Twinmotion before
where did they put the camera align tool in twinmotion 2020
i'd also like to know
Go to DOF, there is a Small bar at the top use it. there is the align

I LIKED THE VIDEO.
CAN U TELL ME HOW CAN I GET 2D ELEVATION FROM TWINMOTION?
Would it not just be this but sideways?
Very helpful.
Glad it was helpful!
is there any way to fill the void inside the walls?
Photoshop?
would be great if there was an orthographic camera
I think there is - click on the little eye in the upper right hand corner and there should be an ortho option

Nothing is happening when i drag it inside of my drawing? Please help
Idk why but on my work pc it does work with archicad 21 and on my desktop at home it doesn't with archicad 22.
It's a shame that you can't cut an individual object using the section tool.
I hope it will be enabled in the next version.
