Magnetic Wood | Making an Oak Knife Rack

Here is how I created a magnetic oak knife rack for the kitchen using real oak veneers and an IKEA knife block.

Nice. I have been looking to do something similar but was thinking of routing a void from a block of oak to insert the magnetic rack inside. I could leave the sides with thick enough to offer some support but the face was what was concerning me most. I was concerned about how effective the magnets would remain with the wood between the knife and the rack. Oh well a good excuse to experiment I suppose 🤓.

I am watching this a year on from it's release. Is the iron Vernier still holding? Yes Osmo is great stuff, yes and expensive. I first saw it on another UA-cam channel, (New Brit Workshop). Yes holding fine and used daily. Only thing to note is that steel knifes on the oak causes some black marks so another wood species may be better. Osmo fine as always though. Happy new year to you too!
