I would love to see a “week of how I break my fast”, and a week of lunches/dinners etc rather than what I eat in a day as I’m a fussy eater and often what people eat in a day isn’t always what I’d like, but maybe I would eat one or two of the meals. 🤷🏽♀️
What works for me is 16:8, avoid carbs as much as possible, start my fast immediately after dinner, consciously eat more good fats, and chug water during the morning part of my fast.
I would LOVE to see a WEEK's worth of "what you eat in a day". Sometimes, just ONE DAY can not be as helpful as a full week's worth of "what you ate". Thanks!
Hahaha the 'hangry' talk got me! My hubby has been known to make food as if it is for himself, then ask me: "want some?", hand me the plate, and back away slowly. Usually after 15 minutes or so he'll return and I will be a completely different person. I remember saying one time "I feel better now." and he replied, "good, because you were going to a DARK place!" So thankful for our patient and sweet husbands! ♥
Yes yes yes to all of this. Angela isn’t kidding about IF. I have been doing this for almost a month now and not only have I lost weight (not changing what I eat) but I’m not swollen, my skin is looking better and I have more energy and just feel overall better. Do the research, learn the science behind it. It’s real and it works. For the first time in my life I feel like I have found something that feels like life and not a diet. Thanks Angela for bringing light (and real life...Aunt Flo time is hard) to this lifestyle.
I do fasting and keto combined and I am down 80 pounds right now, have another 50 to go and I swear fasting is what truly helped because I have tried keto alone.
I am a biology researcher and I have read papers on this subject published in peer-reviewed biology journals and it is not just a fad. I have recently started intermittent fasting as well.
I was recently diagnosed with PCOS and my Endocrinologist actually told me to start doing IF to help manage symptoms/promote weight loss!! Loved this video!
The best things are done when no one else is looking. It’s great you kept it sacred for so long and didn’t post about it in Instagram. Your vlogs are so good. ❤️☀️🌸🦋
For those of you who don't like black coffee, or don't think you like black coffee... try buying some really good quality coffee, experiment with lighter or darker roasts. ALSO! I get hangry as well, I always carry snacks with me, my kids are the same way too and I remind my daughter that she is making poor choices because she is hungry. I ask her to pause her thoughts, find a snack, give it a minute, and then carry on... always works.
Good tips! I've been intermittent fasting for several months as well. But I do incorporate my coffee with cream and butter into my eating window so I don't have to do the black coffee. But that works for me because I do wake up hungry so my window is early. I have the coffee, workout, and have a big meal and that is it for the day, and I am satisfied. It's personal and adaptable to different people's bodies and cravings. It's great to hear someone else's perspective and experience.
I had no idea about intermittent fasting before. I just started to hear about it without realising that i have been doing it for decades 😂 I always tell myself to only eat when i’m hungry and i never wake up hungry. Everyone telling me that breakfast is the most important meal of the day 🙄 Good on you girl to find what works for you 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
When people say breakfast is the most important meal of the day, it's a correct statement for the wrong reason. Breakfast as the meal you eat upon waking is not important. The first meal after you "break your fast" as "breakfast" is the most important meal. Ensure that meal is balanced with protein and healthy fats is key, no matter the time of day.
Most of the answers should be WATER! To not get headache or curb your appetite and get rid of the cravings is DRINK WATER. We need to replace the water that we are not getting from the food that we usually eat. Also most Americans do not drink enough water!
This was great! Thanks for sharing. The reason why I didn’t attempt this before was because I was scared about how strict I’d have to be with following the rules. But your emphasis on flexibility, and how it worked for you, has inspired me. Definitely giving IF a try now.
I’ve been doing IF for 7 months and I’m down 47lbs. I also have thyroid disease to add to the mix. It’s really not difficult, or anything ground breaking honestly. People have been doing it throughout history. You need to just not overthink or over complicate it and anyone can do it successfully.
Here’s an article that lists a number of other sources for further study. I’ve been doing IF for about 3 months, but only 7 weeks taking it seriously. Once I cracked down and was consistent with my eating/fasting windows, I started to see a lot of positive changes. Like she said in the first video, your weight number may not go where you hope, but your body will change. At 11 months postpartum and still largely breastfeeding, I am not at my pre-baby weight, but I’m almost there and I have been comfortably back in my pre-baby clothes for about a month. You may also notice your body just doesn’t like certain foods and you become more intuitive about what best fuels you to be at your best. All in all, so many benefits beyond changing the number on the scale!
Thanks for this! My life has been transformed by this sort of information. I am turning 65 and for the past 2 years I have combined LOW CARB (Keto) with Intermittent Fasting, lost 82 lbs., came off ALL MEDICATIONS (2 for hypertension, one for high cholesterol and gave up my CPAP for sleep apnea). I am Loving life! I started my own UA-cam channel “Bill C Thompson - Live Healthy, Finish Strong “
Thanks I am French and drinking black coffee is much more common in Europe than in the US. you need to get a good one if you want to drink it black. There are plenty of good brands available in your stores or online. Also for the bloating and digestion issues, I want to point out food allergies or intolerance. I was diagnosed with milk protein allergy a couple of years ago (by chance I had just started a nuts allergy) and after cutting dairy products my life changed. No more bloating, stomach ache, etc. I felt so much better. So if you can, get tested for allergies and intolerance. I never liked diary products and my doctor said my body was trying to tell me it wasn’t good for me. So listen to your body. I really like your video because I truly believe in the no strict or frustrating rules. You need to ENJOY eating. And you kept that.
Yay!!! Love this video. I’m on week 2 of intermittent fasting. I am down 9lbs!!! I have been going between 20:4 and 23:1. Love it. I have struggled with my weight all my life and finally think I have found something I can stick with the rest of my life.
I have been contemplating this style of dieting for a while so thank you so much for the great info! I'm excited for the rest of the declutter series! I've already almost completed the digital decluttering! 😍
Definitely would love to see a 'what I eat in a day' video!! I have been doing intermittent fasting for a week now and I'm really enjoying it. Also, pre-ordered your book on audible! Can't wait!
I've tried 16:8 and it didn't do anything for me actually. This time around I changed the game, I do 18:6 or even 19:5, it depends. But how it works better for me is I eat from, say 9-15h and don't eat anymore. I feel a lot better this way and it helps with my GERD too.
This is the first time I’ve run across your channel, girl your my soul sister 😂 this was great info though! My daughter is 14 months and I haven’t started trying to get back down to my “ideal” weight, this motivated me to get in gear!!!! Thanks!
Me last night "I'm going to start intermittent fasting at 6:30" 7:45 *bites into brownie*🤦♀️ I set it down and told myself it's ok just nothing else and have water and black coffee in the morning. No biggie. 6am thismorning * makes coffee and pours in Coffee Mate Vanilla Creamer per usual * "SHIT" Trying again tonight after dinner 😂
Thank you, thank you! Since watching your video 4 weeks ago I have started doing 16:8 & I'm enjoying it. I have lost 5lb. I was hoping for a bigger weight loss in this time but sadly not. Would love to see a day or a week of what you eat to see where I'm going wrong, think this would definitely help myself & alot of others. Love all of your videos & vlogs xx
Thank you so much for this, Angie! I love how you said that it’s more of your natural eating habit (not eating in the morning) because that absolutely resonated with me. Every other “diet” that I’ve ever tried has pushed eating breakfast and that’s where I’ve always failed bc I am not ever hungry in the morning. This way of eating makes sense to me and I am looking forward to seeing how it works for me. I started it a few days ago and it’s going well so far for me. Thank you for sharing this and for being so candid and honest. You are such an inspiration ❤️
Gold star to me! 🌟 love what you have to say about IF, and would love to see a “what I eat in a day” video. Looking forward to your next decluttering video too!
Thanks Angie! I did keto in 2017 and lost 50 lbs and felt amazing but I haven't been mentally able to get back to it since I had my 15 month old. I am so excited to try just the IF part and make better choices during that. Thank you for sharing!
I'm doing keto with IF and have lost 11 pounds in the past 2 weeks. I think the quick results keep me motivated. When I get down to my goal weight I plan to add healthy, complex carbs back in. Good luck to you!
I’d love to see your personal channel hit 100k! I just think you are so knowledgeable, honest and relatable and more people should get to know you and your wonderfully made family! I also happen to like that you’re a Southern girl (at least, I consider you a Southern chick since y’all are in the Charlotte area) - even if you did move around a lot and spend a good bit of your life in Oregon. 😉
An old tennis partner of mine did this about 7-8 years ago and I read a lot of research on the positive effects, but have never tried whole heartedly for any length of time. I'm not a night snacker and usually not hungry first thing in the morning, so I'm gonna give it a whirl as have so much bloating more and more as I age (already mostly gluten free, which helped when I started 4-5 years ago, but never really affected my weight). Thanks for sharing your journey as I found very encouraging.
There is so much great science behind intermittent fasting. My doctor said she recommends it to most all of her patients that are struggling with weight loss.
I have a very dirty coffee every morning (large mug, all semi skimmed milk, no water, coffee, and four teaspoons of sugar, filthy I know, I'm not proud) just one a day but I know its contributing to belly fat. Ughhhh, I really look forward to it in the morning. When you said black coffee no sugar I was like, " well, there my first problem". I have an extremely sweet tooth. Where to start.
Just started intermittent fasting a few days ago... after watching your video. I'd done some research awhile ago and was thinking about it, but what really flipped the switch was that it might help with sleeping, which is a big problem for me. Fingers crossed, lol
Thank you for your Q & A! Intermittent fasting has intrigued me, I will definitely do my research 🤗. I love how you mentioned the midnight bowl of cereal as that is exactly what I was doing as I watched this video 😂🥣.
Yes! Pour over or french press. It really makes a difference in the quality of the coffee. Also, buy a good coffee! Folgers just wont cut it, honestly.
I just has my 5th child in 6 years....I'm starting this tomorrow. (I was eating a bowl of ramen at 1am as I watched this 😆) *sigh....I'm starting this tomorrow.
Delay Don't Deny by Gin Stephens is a great book to read. I am just starting the IF journey and it is a change for me who was definitely a 3 meal a day and 2 snack person each day. Thanks for all your videos - Love your fam!
I'm not sure if this has been mentioned already, but the book "The Obesity Code" has a lot to say about IF, and related topics. Awesome book and the doctor who wrote it is a big proponent of IF.
I did kind of fasting and didn't called it like that, I stopped eating before 7am and ate breakfast past 9am and started loosing. All I drank was my coffee with almond milk (plain). Then I started having my breakfast earlier and it all went downhill (or upscale). I am planning on doing it again but this time on purpose and will try to stretch it longer. Let's see how it goes.. This quarantine was hard!
I started my IF plan (16:8) yesterday. I know it’s super early, but I was so scared that the transition would be very difficult, but my body was fine. I don’t wake up hungry if I had a good dinner, so I don’t truly foresee this being a lifestyle of suffering. Even though I don’t drink coffee, water is good enough for me. I’m using Zero, too!
An intermittent window for plant based living is different. The time window is the same but the eating is different because of the food. I know this because I'm vegan.
I did read if you are really feeling hungry or sluggish to put a pinch of pink Himalayan salt under your tongue. I didn't try it myself, but just a tip I read.
I do fasting, my way, and bloating was why i am doing it. It has helped me so much, also my jeans feel better. Also, there are a ton of videos by doctors on fasting.
I started researching about intermitent fasting and slowly implementing it too, Would love to see what you generaly eat in a day series just to get some inspiration, lots of love Xoxo
Water down black coffee in the beginning helps... it isn’t as yummy 😋 but 🤷🏽♀️ I’m trying to delay that till eating window or when I don’t need to lose weight.
It's funny, I've been intermittent fasting for years, without realising I was. (its not exactly to the rules of IF but its damnnn close) I hate/literally feel unwell/would throw up if I eat when I've just woken up, or even up to 4 or 5 hours after waking up, I then graze, eat what I want, whether that's pasta or noodles, or a sandwich or sushi literally whatever I feel like. I then don't have anything about 3 hours before sleeping. I've maintained the same weight for 6/7 years (I was an actual child before that haha!), and can't even think of eating three big meals at set times... intuitive eating! It's wonderful!
I find healthy fats really help with cravings. Avocado or guac on everything! I view black coffee like a supplement and just chug it to get it into me! Lol
My concern is I work 12 hour shifts, so realistically I leave at 6:30 and I’m not home until 8. Either AM or PM since I also work both day and night shifts. I might start only on days I’m off. I don’t think it’s the same, but some days at work I go 8 hrs between breakfast and lunch with only some soy milk in my tea when it’s so busy I can’t get to lunch until 2:30pm
I find it funny that people who skipped breakfast alot years ago were ridiculed for it because " breakfast is the most important... You have to eat 3 square meals a day or more" i remeber hearing "studies" on the news as a kid about how unhealthy skipping meals was... etc and now we are seeing that those people were on to something all along... 🤔
I would love to see a “week of how I break my fast”, and a week of lunches/dinners etc rather than what I eat in a day as I’m a fussy eater and often what people eat in a day isn’t always what I’d like, but maybe I would eat one or two of the meals. 🤷🏽♀️
Ruthie T oh I’d love this! I’m also a fussy eater so that would be perfect.
Ruthie T me too!!!
Thanks!
I started doing intermittent fasting about 2 weeks ago and I have seen a tremendous difference. It’s crazy how much your body changes so quickly.

For those who can't handle black coffee, try plain green or black tea and wait until you break your fast at noon for coffee with cream.
You can also do Apple Cider Vinegar diluted in water with ice, is delicious and works great for me, plus so many benefits!
Do you know if peppermint tea would break a fast? That is the only tea I like if I can't have my creamer. :)
@@christinefoss5767 Peppermint tea is a zero calorie food, so yes you can have it during a clean fast.
Christine Foss it’s based on calories, peppermint tea has no calories, so it would work fine.
Christine Foss anything over 35 calories breaks the fast
Yes went to see what you eat in a day....
Yes yes yes to all of this. Angela isn’t kidding about IF. Stacey Davies how many times a day do you eat 3x?
I am a biology researcher and I have read papers on this subject published in peer-reviewed biology journals and it is not just a fad. I have recently started intermittent fasting as well.
I would be so curious to know what you have discovered on fasting in general. I am just starting to research it so would love a professional insight.
Ellie J look up Dr Rhonda Patrick. She has tons of info (podcasts, Instagram posts, etc) on IF.
I love “what I eat in a days” it gives me ideas for sure
I was recently diagnosed with PCOS and my Endocrinologist actually told me to start doing IF to help manage symptoms/promote weight loss!! Loved this video!

Totally agree with black coffee being like “car oil” :D

You just keep getting prettier!! What your doing is working for you! I’ll take all your advice!
I had no idea about intermittent fasting before. I just started to hear about it without realising that i have been doing it for decades 😂
I always tell myself to only eat when i’m hungry and i never wake up hungry. Everyone telling me that breakfast is the most important meal of the day 🙄
Good on you girl to find what works for you 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
The first meal of the day IS the most important meal of the day....that’s where the confusion comes, most peoples first meal is breakfast.

The first meal after you "break your fast" as "breakfast" is the most important meal. Ensure that meal is balanced with protein and healthy fats is key, no matter the time of day.

This was great! Thanks for sharing. The reason why I didn’t attempt this before was because I was scared about how strict I’d have to be with following the rules. But your emphasis on flexibility, and how it worked for you, has inspired me. Definitely giving IF a try now.
Other questions: how would you do when you go eat out or have friends over for dinner?
Did you feel down the first week/s?
Yes, please share your “what I eat in a day” 😊
I’ve been doing IF for 7 months and I’m down 47lbs. I also have thyroid disease to add to the mix. It’s really not difficult, or anything ground breaking honestly. People have been doing it throughout history. You need to just not overthink or over complicate it and anyone can do it successfully.

For the person asking about books for Intermittent Fasting, Dr. Fung books are amazing! Also Dr. Berg on UA-cam is quite educational.
Lana B check out 'siim land' on UA-cam he is the best
Thanks I am French and drinking black coffee is much more common in Europe than in the US. you need to get a good one if you want to drink it black. There are plenty of good brands available in your stores or online. Also for the bloating and digestion issues, I want to point out food allergies or intolerance. I was diagnosed with milk protein allergy a couple of years ago (by chance I had just started a nuts allergy) and after cutting dairy products my life changed. Haha I started this morning and while making my daughter's breakfast and I licked the spoon. Woops.

Looking forward to your next decluttering video too!
Yes, I'd like to see a what I eat in a day. It would be helpful to see the portion sizes too. I'm very bad at portion sizing.
Same!
Thank you
I feel encouraged and I’m excited to start this new season in life.
Yay! I got a gold star today! Thanks for sharing your experience with intermittent fasting.

Thanks for the info ❤️
Can you do a video where you make maybe like 3 of your go to meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner each for IF?
I just love listen to your voice:)
And very interesting video! 👌🏼
🤣🤣🤣 car oil!! That's the absolute best way to describe black coffee👍
Eat in the day would be great!
If you find black coffee really gross, try doing pour over coffee or cold drip. It's so good!
Loved the way u said "talk to your doctor" haha so funny
You look stunning so awesome you reached your personal goal ❤️
My hubby for year struggle with intermittent eating he now on take off 150 # it amazing I am starting in now to what time to see you video

😂 Man i looove how the camera kept focusing on the llamas in the background!😂❤
So practical. I agree with all your pointers.
I would love to see a weeks worth of what I eat in a day! I have such a hard time with healthy food ideas even if they are simple.
I didn't eat til 12 today dranl water and black coffee til12 yes thank u ..I feel better already
I can definitely relate to your description of getting hangry...my poor chirrens lol. It's nice to hear your take on this IF thang. Thanks
Yes, what you eat in a day and also how you break your fast. i think this is going to be my winner. thanks for talking about this.
An intermittent window for plant based living is different. The time window is the same but the eating is different because of the food. I know this because I'm vegan.
Thanks for uploading so soon ☺️
yes! I would love to see an " what i eat in a week" & i would love to see what the kiddos eat in a week too!
Love your shirt. Where can it be found?
Yes, Angie, please! Make a video of what you eat.
Thank you 💖
Yes sourdough bread! I’ve found the low FODMAP diet helps my tummy tremendously!!
Yes! Would love a 'what I eat in a day'! Maybe even the recipes that go with them too?
Might want to try einkorn flour sometime too. It's not hybridized and I no longer have gluten issues.
Yes please for the what you eat in a day video!!!
Lol
Thanks for sharing. You had me laughing so hard on the hangry part.
Thank you!!! I really enjoyed this!!! PLEASE do a what you eat in a day video!!
