I have a hubsan 501s. I flew 3300 meters with dual battery 2 x 2700. Total weight of batteries and connecting cables 225 grams. Total flight time 29 minutes and 32 seconds. At the end of the distance I had a signal of 5.8 Ghz and 2.4 Ghz strong enough. I flew in hold gps mode. It took me longer. So in conclusion: I believe in the performance of the MK1 G4V, and I congratulate him.

I have a new hunsan H501A 2 months now , I like to take videos but it has problem lost satelites when flies very near to me 20 - 30 meters , and some times it begin to go fast faraway from me without to do it from my controller and I can not controle my drone .I don t know what problem has, from hubsan tey don t agree to hange it with the warranty and I have send it now to the shop I have buy it , and I m waiting news. If they repair it or change it I need your help for more time to my flies , extra baterries? I run a 5000mah Lipo on one of my drones that only came with a 1600mah lipo....with the 5000, flight time was increased from 7-8 minutes now up to 25-28 min!

I did similar modifications to my cheerson cx 20and I got a fantastic range and height. I've just been getting this little Hubsan and will be modified it as soon as I stop playing about with it because it's a fantastic little quad almost silent compared with some of them

That was great to watch. There will always be envious people out there. What goggles are you using and are you recording from them or the drone? I can't get my drone sd card to record anything! I have formatted a 16g a 32g and a 64g micro SD card every way I can but no luck. I flew today but just used the screen and my wife recorded it with my iphone 8.

Rocky Rock you are right, I own the H501ss, without antenna mod. It drop the fpv at 1000m but still push onward until failsake kick in. With the mods I know it will go farther without a problem. Then I would run 2 batteries to assure I have enough power to come back.

@@Exuberant12 Hey man, I literally just got the Hubsan H501S (With pro controller) and got it out to about 1600 meter stock with no problems. I do live where there would be some interference though, but if you were in the wide open I wouldn't doubt if you could easily reach 2000m+. I don't know if you got your drone yet, but if you didn't, you are going to love it! Hope this helps

I just picked up an SS, and when you click return to home it turns around and faces me on the way back. I also noticed if you turn left and right it will turn the drone left and right while its returning home even though it stays on the same course. Like headless mode kind of

Nice. My 501s-s does a weird jerk to the side sometimes when I get above tree line. Any thoughts why? Sometimes it’s enough for me to think it might roll over.
It has always been my dream to hit 1,000 m and then come back safe. Ive lost 2 or 3 501''s, in the past year or so. I have never made it past 600 meters before I would get to nervous and hit return to home, I have one 501's left. It's in a hard shell back pack. and I have an H109s both of which I love but rarely fly, because of the confidence that was lost with the last drop out.
I have a H109S Im still testing out the Distance thing But I have lost signal from it before now and both times It returned home. The only drop out I had was my own dumb fault.

I back you up on that distance you covered because I myself got a total distance of 5255 meters when it auto RTH with the exact same quad...I had a 7.4volt double 2700mah battery set up. Time of day and atmospheric conditions play a huge part of this. For the longest distance flight try flying right before the sun comes completely up... The Sun itself full is of billions of frequencies and they can and do interfere on a small scale and also the less humidity,the better. Proof of this is that with the same set up and at the same place on a different day at around 2pm and around 65 percent humidity and at the height of wifi and cell phone usage...I only was able to get 1460 meters. Facts. Dont worry yourself with UA-cam Trolls who dont have shit else to do but try to cause trouble. Truth is, these little Trolls have an issue of inadequacy...they are mad because they are in the closet playing with a beenie weenie.🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Happy Easter H501S people. Just got back from flying mine to 5350m. No problem whatsoever. It can be done I've done it end of, for all the people who think fake more than happy to meet up show you myself or let you fly it. Once you have more than sure one will be on your shopping list. How do I bypass altitude restrictions? I have the latest firmware with the h501s. And the newest firmware isn't compatible with the modding tools. Pls thx
I am using a FC firmware that ends in 41... v1.1.41 or something.. I was using .38 before hand .. all you need to do is use the eeprom tab in the newer mod tool.. the ALT parameters ect are stored separate from FC from what I understand.. I had changed ALT restriction before and updated FC firmware that the ALT restriction removal remained. thats why I say such things..

Subject to what i have seen here. Every video i have seen and read about this drone, say it has and FPV range of 400 metres and max distance is 800 to just over 1000 metres.
Very Cool. I chose to believe you, it’s more fun that way... and I’m not the negative type. It’s obvious by all the mods you show at the end that it’s far from a standard Hubsan. I’m thinking of getting one. This model has been out for a few years now... and is a proven good flyer. Very nice footage, by the way.
Hey man I finally got my H501s I've been looking in the forums and everywhere on UA-cam, I can't figure out how to unlock my altitude restriction, I've downloaded all the modding tools and none work with the firmware that I have. What do you suggest that I do? If you don't care I could use a step by step would be thankfull. Thanks man
I seriously didn't think you planned to do the return journey, I was gobsmacked!! when you did. The furthest i've travelled my Mavic is 3.7 miles, but it didn't make it all the way back, I had to ditch in a field. I have mixed feelings about the 501, Mainly due to the video signal, I think it's time to invest in some Fat sharks and better antennas. It's buzz when you set a new distance :-)

LOL, since yours performs waaaay better than any other 501 I've ever seen I'd like to send you my eternally bug riddled H501S and have you bless it to rid it of its infernal demons and crappy range. Jimbo the 501 ss with the advanced transmitter works great for long range flite. You can order just the trans on ebay and rebind to your quad and you will see a huge difference .You also can go on youtube and they have vids to show you how to bind a new trans very simple.
Patriot One - I had actually considered buying the advanced transmitter and/or even the super-duper H7000 months ago hoping to solve my crappy out-of-the-box range problems, but after having so many other gremlins rear their ugly heads in my H501S this year-combined with having to fight with Hubsan's horrible customer service over and over again-I simply gave up on that idea. The H501, if you're lucky enough to get a good (non-defective) one, is an excellent fun-to-fly drone and the perfect size that doesn't seem to offend the public if flown responsibly. As buggy as mine is I still enjoy flying it occasionally and I keep trying to solve each new WTF anomaly that pops up. Cheers and Merry Christmas from Thailand!
I wonder if u can put the quad on an aftermarket carbon type race frame that’s lighter , get a bigger battery pack & even swap out the brushless motors for ones that are a tad smaller for weight and or slightly less KV on the motors for less power consumption as well & put longer & stronger antennas on everything so this baby can really get some range ! ?

Yes any antenna that you see on any hubsan advance controller can also fit the standard controller with 1 small modification. Look for ( IPEX TO SMA ) cable..

And I thought my 1660m was really far. I got to give you props on this flight!!!! I miss my hubsan h501s. The memory card reader stopped reading one day. She flew for almost 2 years and at at least 1000 flights with her. Now I got the p3se. Butt still fling to buy another one one day. You can get a brand new one for 195$ on Amazon. When I got mine I paid 350$ so the price has dropped way down. Do you have any other drones?

"Just hubsan cam" implies I am not including any DVR goggle footage and or multiple cams like some of my other videos. It takes time to sync all those up so just riding onboard with stock hubsan 501 cam. No editing per say only subtitles. Thanks for watching

even my storm will get out 600 meters ...been looking into getting a S ..people ether love hubsan or hate them...i think they fly smooth

how did you format your SD card to the SS model, I have just got one............... cheers...
If u bought it new it's probably already a 501ss even though it says 501s check in your settings to see if it says (V2) if it does it's an ss model

I got antennas on, the FPV screen still drops out at 100 ft odd, anyway always best to look at the drone I say, forget bloody FPV screen.

Very Cool. I chose to believe you, it’s more fun that way... and I’m not the negative type. It’s obvious by all the mods you show at the end that it’s far from a standard Hubsan. I’m thinking of getting one. This model has been out for a few years now... and is a proven good flyer. Very nice footage, by the way.

Hey man I finally got my H501s I've been looking in the forums and everywhere on UA-cam, I can't figure out how to unlock my altitude restriction, I've downloaded all the modding tools and none work with the firmware that I have. What do you suggest that I do? If you don't care I could use a step by step would be thankfull. Thanks man

I seriously didn't think you planned to do the return journey, I was gobsmacked!! when you did. The furthest i've travelled my Mavic is 3.7 miles, but it didn't make it all the way back, I had to ditch in a field. I have mixed feelings about the 501, Mainly due to the video signal, I think it's time to invest in some Fat sharks and better antennas. It's buzz when you set a new distance :-)

Jimbo the 501 ss with the advanced transmitter works great for long range flite. You can order just the trans on ebay and rebind to your quad and you will see a huge difference .You also can go on youtube and they have vids to show you how to bind a new trans very simple.
Patriot One - I had actually considered buying the advanced transmitter and/or even the super-duper H7000 months ago hoping to solve my crappy out-of-the-box range problems, but after having so many other gremlins rear their ugly heads in my H501S this year-combined with having to fight with Hubsan's horrible customer service over and over again-I simply gave up on that idea.
The H501, if you're lucky enough to get a good (non-defective) one, is an excellent fun-to-fly drone and the perfect size that doesn't seem to offend the public if flown responsibly. As buggy as mine is I still enjoy flying it occasionally and I keep trying to solve each new WTF anomaly that pops up.

I wonder if u can put the quad on an aftermarket carbon type race frame that’s lighter , get a bigger battery pack & even swap out the brushless motors for ones that are a tad smaller for weight and or slightly less KV on the motors for less power consumption as well & put longer & stronger antennas on everything so this baby can really get some range ! ?

Yes any antenna that you see on any hubsan advance controller can also fit the standard controller with 1 small modification. Look for ( IPEX TO SMA ) cable..

And I thought my 1660m was really far. I got to give you props on this flight!!!! I miss my hubsan h501s. The memory card reader stopped reading one day. She flew for almost 2 years and at at least 1000 flights with her. Now I got the p3se. Butt still fling to buy another one one day. You can get a brand new one for 195$ on Amazon. When I got mine I paid 350$ so the price has dropped way down. Do you have any other drones?

"Just hubsan cam" implies I am not including any DVR goggle footage and or multiple cams like some of my other videos. It takes time to sync all those up so just riding onboard with stock hubsan 501 cam. No editing per say only subtitles. Thanks for watching

Hi thanks wasn't really out to break any records and there is so much doubt of late over my videos but my job here isn't to convince people anything :)
1 battery i made by myself split from much larger 6s pack down into 3x 2s 7.4v packs soldered up and re-wrapped its 5200mah only 230g
2 666g (I might add a gram for good luck)
