I love your enthusiasm JH. It is an inspiration to me. I am quite a way behind you but my CL has made good progress today. I am 65 and I was hitting a 6 iron today better than I have even hit in 40 years of golf. Looking at you I can see that there is even more to come. Thanks so much

      Hi Terrance,
Who would have thought that you could improve your ball striking so much in the later stages of your golfing life .. it hasn't happened that I know of with traditional swing mechanics .. our 'Second Golf life' is coming..

JH, for such a loquacious gentleman as you to search for descriptive words to convey your exiting discoveries speaks volumes. Congratulations for your splendid achievement!
Now to transplant these thoughts to my own swing.

      Hi Alton,
i must say I usually do not have difficulty in finding descriptive words for what I do in a golf swing .. but the look and feel of what I am experiencing with Yogi lock is a real task to define literally .. I guess its because I just haven't experienced what I am experiencing as of now so I just have no relativity to call on for descriptive explanation.

      Hi Robert,
The journey I have embarked on was really for my 'own' benefit... I just knew there was a swing that could give a consistent result somewhere to be found... and the sheer exasperation of 40+ years of inconsistent swing results drove me to find the solution.
I never thought of finding the answer to the swing mystery and just keeping it for myself so I just invited whoever was interested in going on my journey of discovery with me to come along by way of the JH Practice tee discovery videos.

Hi JH, after several years of experimenting with the CL swing I think I may have reached nirvana. I have never been able to be very consistent with the CL swing since I started trying to use it, but at times I could hit some of the most beautiful shots I’ve ever seen but could not develop any sustained consistency with CL.
Over the past two days I have tried everything that I could think of to get consistent good results. I never really understood just how open you have to be and the extreme ball positioning off the trail foot, but I know now. I have to take an extremely open stance with my chest facing the target with the ball positioned several inches behind the trail foot. I got very powerful ball striking and consistently good ball flight when I applied the extreme open stance and extreme positioning of the ball behind the trail foot.

      Hi Ronnie,
The CL swing is really about developing a specific component in the swing that makes the swing work for 'you'..in your case it is exemplifying of the stance alignment.. setting yourself up way open .. that physical body geometry clearly works well for you.
Because we are all different physically and flexibility wise etc .. we just need to experiment with the overall premis of CL mechanics until we can get those mechanics to be compatible with our individual body process nuances.. you have worked out that requirement..so glad to hear that.
      cheers JH

I think the last time I seen you this excited was when you for the first time you should us Channel Lock

    Good for you

Yeah it's a very exciting time for me now, I always thought I would find the secret for my own golf swing .. my only concern was that I would actually 'live' long enough to do it .. thankfully I have..

This is the most excited I’ve seen you so far JH. Yesterday on my practice tee I two great 4 irons shots using Yogi Lock and grip. I felt like Jack Nicklaus at Baltusrol in 1980. It feels like you are losing the club but then you see this high bomb flying to the 200 yard marker. Yogi lock is great. I’m going to follow your lead and adopt it. Try to calm down now JH go have a cup of tea. Great video. Cheers.

Looks very good JH and sounds even better - almost like the ball is sitting waiting for the club-head...'swish' and off it goes...
But, have you moved the ball forward a bit? also the stands seems more closed when you swing...?

    • @1atomicgolf
      @1atomicgolf  6 років тому

      Hi SRT,...
The ball 'looks' further forward because I have my trail foot further back these days ..if I brought it up to square the ball would look as it really is off the back foot...I really feel a lot of 'swish' in my swing with this new action .. it's just fantastic as a feeling.
      cheers JH

It almost looks like you have not forward lean but a little backward lean on the shaft..maybe this is giving exstra sling on the club ?

Played my first round of on course golf today using channel lock. I play off 18 and hit a gross 79, course par 70. So rather happy!! Started off a bit shaky as I was thinking so hard about protocol and set up that I forgot the target. But by the sixth hole, I just set up using the protocol, relaxed (that was the big difference) then just played the shot. Was I perfect? Nope but my misses were better than previous ie straight or not far off, some thins and one fat but pretty damned decent. So thanks a bunch for all the vids and input!! One question; I had the strangest ball flight on more than one occasion, some with driver and some with iron. The ball in mid flight looked like it was going to go one way then looked like it was going the other way then went dead straight. It was like it couldnt make up its mind what spin was on it. Any ideas?

If you just type in Channel Lock Swing DTL View into the UA-cam search bar you will see lots of DTL view videos of the CL swing .. I negative load my clubhead in every swing .. it's just not obvious as it is when I am demonstrating it ..

Alright JH, you keep saying "Look at that guys". well we would if you had more cameras. Time to step it up and let us watch more BALL Flight and let us see them landing 10ft apart. Like airplanes coming to land, let us see the landing.

    • @1atomicgolf
      @1atomicgolf  5 років тому

      Mitch,
I have enough trouble with '1' camera ..as I have said so many times .. the whole idea of what I espouse on the Practice tee is to get 'you' and everyone else to apply the swing principals I suggest to your 'own' swing .. how 'I' hit the ball and how it performs is totally irrelevant to how the swing principals will work for you ... seeing where my balls land ain't gonna help you get your shots to do the same .. only the swing mechanics being applied by you to 'your' golf swing can do that ..
It would be like me watching Ben Hogan hit shots and seeing his ball flight and ball landing dispersion factors .. if I couldn't apply Hogan's swing principals to 'my' swing all the watching' in the world isn't going to help me apply those swing mechanics .. its the 'mechanics' application to 'your' swing that is the 'only' thing that will determine if the swing principles/mechanics are a proposition for you to use ..
Moe Norman said very bluntly to me that if I and other people spent the time we/ they did watch 'him' swing the club on their own swings they clearly would be getting the correct type of feedback/benefit to best suit their real needs for the determination of the mechanics' viability of utilisation ..
      cheers JH..

      Hi John,
I truly believe that any world-class Tour player that adopted CL would have such an advantage on his opposition because he would be 50% more reliable off the tee because of the no ' pulls or drags' elimination because of the guaranteed in to out club path attack every time that CL produces.
Imagine Tiger with only a potential 'one-way ' miss propensity with the driver .. I know he is playing ok right now but his driving is still a 'two-way' miss potential 80% of the time.
The problem with a big name is that they are so establishment brainwashed by today's guru's of instruction that something as radical as CL would fry their fragile confidence mechanism's ... you need someone like Dechambeau who understands geometry dynamics realities .. he would understand why CL 'has' to work ... he has that engineering training understanding background ... he just won a day ago with a swing that has a 'two way' miss potential .. so imagine what he does with the elimination by 50% of his miss potential .. the mind boggles at that prospect.
      cheers JH

DeChambeau plays single length as well he would be the poster boy.

    • @1atomicgolf

      Hi John,
Bryson's irons are all 37.5 inches long .. and he has them at 71 degrees lie .. that around 10 degs upright over normal std lie spec.... he hits the bal, straighter than anyone on tour but is still prone to pulling or dragging the ball because of his normal forward of centre ball position at address .. no golf swing or club spec can ever guarantee the elimination of pulled or dragged shots with a forward of body centre ball positioning at address .. I am amazed that swing mechanists dont see that flaw in a normal golf swing .. and doubly amazed that Dechambeau doest see it because he is such a highly technical dude in the Body dynamics processes .. or 'is' he.. its ok to spruke a story of knowledge ..but another thing to highlight such .. he might just be overwhelmed the establishment's opinion of the need to play the ball forward of centre in order to make the right point of contact in the swing arc .. that argument has absolutely no standing in swing geometry science ... absolutely zero standing.
I know if I got opposite him across the table I could prove my theory of the CL mechanics ... might ask my friend John Senden to give me a knockdown to Bryson .. the deal would be I would swing coach him for 10% of his prize money winnings .. and if he didn't win at least 5 million a year I wouldn't take a cent from him .. but every Major would be 20% .. I think he would have to go for that deal .. and I would guarantee him a tournament win within the first 4 tournaments he played with CL.. how could he refuse an offer like that .. I know how he could .. its called 'Pro Golfer resistance to Change'.. ok he has changed dramatically to his current methodology of swing .. but he did have some buffer of peer critisism because Moe Norman played with his swing mechanics .. but 'no one' in Pro Golf has 'ever' played with anything remotely like CL...
      cheers JH
