Tech Tip Tuesday: @ZildjianCompany A Series 14" New Beats VS. @ZildjianCompany 16” K Series Sweet hi-hat pair
.
.
.
As you all know I love comparing new gear to gear that I have played for a long time so this comparison is very exciting.
For starters, the first set of hi-hats are my 14" A Series New Beat hi-hat (light top/heavy bottom). The second pair of hi-hats are my new 16” Zildjian K Sweet hats (1262 top /2027g bottom).
Along with their difference in sizes these two cymbals also contrast in their difference in sound as well.
The 14" New Beats, as you all know, has a very clean and crispy sound that cuts extremely well and produces a balanced crispy high end wash when you open them up. Meanwhile, the 16” Zildjian K sweet hats do cut but slightly less than the 14”, has a nice crisp and balanced wash but the tone was just a little fuller and a beefier than the New Beats.
In this case I was again surprised with the 16” hats and how well they cut yet still not as much as the classic 14” New Beats. In addition to that, this reminded me how much I love these classic 14” New Beat hi-hats.
In the end, both are such great options to have for different musical situations.
What do you guys think? Which set of hi-hats do you prefer? Leave a comment and let me know!
Enjoy the demo and have a wonderful day! 🥁🤓❤️💪🏻

I own and love New Beats but these K's sound amazing
I would love to see a comparison against the new beats versus the fat hats.
New beats 💯
💪🏻🥁🤓
Not sure it's the ultimate comparison but certainly a good one.
I like the 16s
They are pretty sweet
The ring on that snare man
Zildjian Company A Series 14" New Beats VS. Zildjian Company 16” K Series Sweet hi-hat pair.
Which pair is your pick?
Theres no point of comparison here, are completly diferents sizes.
The Meinl 15" extra drys are best here.
@@eddidrums why is that?
@@testabeatdrums I think they sound great
Dont love either but do like the K more
Why do not like either? Is it a sound thing for you? What is your ideal sound for hi-hats?
Both are great but I have to go with the new beats 🔥
Yeah the new beats are such a standard for sure. Great choice!
Just got a used zildjian new beat from the 80-90s for just $189.99
What a steal 💪🏻🥁🤓
Great find. I always wanted to stumble upon a pair of Dyno Beats from the 80's, or any Paiste Rude cymbals from around that time.
I got my Quick Beats for 170€
Absolutely love those hats!
@@ozzkuQuick Beat is brighter, tighter chick but less spread than the New Beat 👍🏾
is that snare from the st anger album?
Well my snare wires are engaged so no lol
New beats actually sound crisper than the Ks
I agree, they definitely are!! 💪🏻🥁🤓
the snare sound ruins it
Why is that?
@@testabeatdrumsidk i just really don’t like open snare sounds like that
Unfair comparison, most people gonna like the sound of 14's
My thought with this was to compare the 16 inch high hats something people are familiar with
@@testabeatdrums ohhh I see! They still sound great!
@@cmdrumming6104 I dig them both 🤘🏻🥁🤓
I saw DIY mallet
Ultimate hi-hat comparison … only shows 2 pairs of hi-hats ha haa
Love the sound of both tho
For me its open sound of the new beats but closed sound of K sweet
That’s exactly why I like these hats
K th sawnd god
🙌🏻🙌🏻🥁🤓
Don't like both of them 😕
All good 💪🏻🥁🤓
@@testabeatdrums I like paiste
@@snipurryt4955 that’s great. I think Paiste is a fantastic brand. The sound I’m looking to achieve tends to be with zildjian cymbals but that could change over time. Right now it works
@@testabeatdrums nah uh bro paiste can beat it 😎
But if ur in a budget that's the best 😂😭😂
How do you get the kick sounding so phat?!
Higher resonant side head than batter
Super
🙏🏻🥁🤓
