I noticed in the video you said that once they process the paper work after 2-3 weeks they can hand over the keys to you. What did you do in terms of transportation during those 2-3 weeks of waiting to get the keys to your vehicle? Did you rent a car, or have your sponsor take you where you needed to go?
We will be coming there in may and I also want to live off base cost wise how much out of pocket to you have to to after OHA AND UTILITIES are paid for by the military ?!
It really varies by season so right now we aren’t paying anything out of pocket. Since we aren’t using our AC, our electricity bill isn’t as expensive. Hope this helps!

Sadie Thomas we let the housing office know beforehand that we prefer to live off base but it really just depends on vacancy during the time you get here! But I believe it’s been pretty full on base recently so if off-base is something you want, it wouldn’t hurt to let them know!
Sadie Thomas unfortunately had to wait until we got here and exit ROM 😒 I noticed some people are getting a power of attorney so their sponsor can find a home for them but that puts the risk of not getting a home you truly want. I didn’t want to take my chances lol
@@skywalkier I have not heard of very many furnished places besides the government furniture that you can keep in your home for 90 days. But there might be places that I haven’t heard of yet!

Welcome to Oki! Thankfully our sponsor helped us out and drove us where we needed to go.
