    Enjoyed your videos. Wonderful views of the Ocean. I love Okinawa. I was stationed at Camp Foster Aug74-Sep75, I remember the storms and typhoons on Okinawa. BTW my niece is a Flight Attendant for Delta out of Atlanta.

      @@EcoFlightAttendant yes I remember the typhoons. When I was on Okinawa we slept in the old barracks, the Open Squad Bays. One typhoon was so bad, we had to put the wall lockers up against the windows. BTW no air conditioning back in 1974-1975, every one had their own fan, but it was still hot. Stay safe.

    thanks so much for all of the info! I'm heading to Kadena as a single officer in Jan so I know I'll be house-hunting off base. Can't wait!

    Great videos & resources! Did you purchase a car once you got there from the states or do you ship a car?

      thank you! we purchased cars there. They are super affordable, old, yet pretty reliable. They've been bought & sold many times over, but that's just the Oki way!

    Hello! Love the video! We are moving there in December and was wondering if you have any advice on typhoons out there?

      we luckily haven't had any super bad ones. Trami in 2016 did some major destruction. Basically we just fill up our tub, have food & water supplies on hand, and bring in all our outside furniture indoors. People that live on the ground floors typically sandbag their doorsills. The military bases give great information to make sure we are ready ahead of time!

    Great content and just what I needed. I am a flight attendant too with another airline, and my hubby is in the military too *surprise surprise*. I am already stressing how I will commute from Okinawa to the East Coast. Can I ask, you mentioned your husband came to Okinawa as unaccompanied initially then changed his status to accommpanied? We are struggling which we should do.

      if it helps at all we didn't quite choose to come separately, but I had a different job at the time so I couldn't quite move with him. It just worked out that joining him 7 months later was good timing for us to get off base!

    Did your husband do the command sponsorship at his last base before he left for kadena or after he arrived at kadena?

    Moving to oki in 3 days! I’m excited but I’m really hoping I can find an adorable house or roomy apartment. Are prices usually in the $1,800 to $2,500 range?

    • @EcoFlightAttendant
      @EcoFlightAttendant  3 роки тому

      Ah that's so exciting!! Yes that's definitely a perfect price range to find something!

    Did you have to buy voltage converters?
    Also is it best to ship my household goods or to buy new there?

    • @EcoFlightAttendant
      @EcoFlightAttendant  Рік тому +1

      Definitely have your household goods shipped, it should be included anyways! And usually no voltage converters needed, however for anything with 3 prongs needs one. They are very cheap & can be bought here
