I think he hit all the high points, but boy what a shotgun blast of information. This vid might be good to give a person an idea of the topics they need to focus on, but not to great at giving out the information itself. It shouldn't be assumed that a new driver taking their "lesson 01" already knows and understands what the apex of a curve is, for instance. Such a thing requires a visual aid. Great initial effort though! This content is long overdue for the game series.
I've tried Project Cars, Assetto Corsa, Race Room and Forza... but i always come back to Dirt because the overall feel of the car and the ffb effects are absolutly outstanding. Great work

Wow just what I needed. Finally dialled in Logitech wheel on Xbox and now I'm loving this so much better. Wheel is now easier than controller with more feedback. I'm still a newbie but enjoying it and justified dollars.
Grim yeah, it’s difficult but in about a week I went from useless to quite good just from learning and applying these sort of techniques so it would be helpful to people if the game gave a rally school even if they just copy and pasted Dirt 4’s
Silent Hills I’m glad it’s difficult, it gives it far more replay value and for me it isn’t daunting because I like the challenge but they’re honestly just driving potential players away by not having some sort of tutorial.

Some of us are very new to this genre and have never had any exposure to the techniques relied on in the game. Wanting interactive training to get a basic understanding and feeling of specific techniques, which can then be practiced and refined through application is not unreasonable - especially for a sim
I really love Phil! The pace notes are more detailed than in DR1. I prefer the corner severity called out before the turning direction, I think I process how to set up the car depending on severity and then follow the visual line. It is also great to hear the complexity of the track being reflected in Phils voice, like he sounds stressed or concerned when the going gets hard. This just bypasses my need for judging and planning a set of corners because I already know it is going to be hard by his inflection and then I really absorb his notes. Great job on the pace notes and voicing in DR2!
You need to add more tarmac tracks (like rally san remo italy or some japan touge tracks) and fix the tarmac physics. Handling on tarmac is terrible, car slides like on ice, even with 4wd traction, like it has completely worn out tyres and not fresh racing tyres.

Instead, made a series of videos in which a pro player just records the gameplay of him playing the game with a full $2000 setup including Gears, pedals, steering wheel and what not. Gran Turismo is cheaper than this game and still has a incredible driving school which will make you a pro driver within days.
@@mattjohnston2 I am 13 years old. I think you are right maybe it is made for more patient audience who can spend months to learn to drive... I cleared GT Sport Mission Challanges in 3-4 months. But it seems that this game will take years to adapt to....
judging from how loose his handrake and gear shifter are in this video, it looks more like a $199 Walmart bargain bin package, and btw, it is not a tutorial, but a preview of a tutorial. He spends no time on the various turn severities and basic planning and execution for each. A tutorial would show some theory and explanations beyond gameplay video, but this is simply a gameplay video.
Also, I don't know who this consultant is, but an educator he is not, no matter how pro he may be at driving. The fact that he agreed to make a tutorial leads me to believe he is not a pro driver either, but likes to play one on youtube.

I suggest watching 2kliksphilip's video on dirt rally ( ua-cam.com/video/pt_WyiLUoGA/v-deo.html ). He beat the game using a keyboard. The video legitimately gives good advice for the game & life.
what gearbox do you have because i have paddles so i picked manual sequential but my clutch doesn't do anything and it just acts like semi auto (i think ill check if mabye my clutch isnt set up as an input next time i play)

The co-driver is ages too late sometimes, it's often an agony to drive master times without knowing the track by heart, because of the co-driver being either too late or the pacenote being plain wrong, sometimes a left 3 is a left 2 tightens even with optimal racing line, and sometimes a right 4 tightens is a right 6.
then change the co driver callouts to early, start fiddleing with the settings instead of complaining. Pacenotes can never be 100 percent accurate, you just gotta accomodate, thats the fun thing about the game sometimes
Hello! Thank you broo, that is what I was searching for, the autopilot info's meanings. For example when he said 180 left4 I didn t knew what it means. Now I know that 6 is least severe and 1 most severe+the numbers like 30 50 100 meaning the distance between corners. Now I can be much better. In any case, my best results are for not 63th worldwide. I have like 10 top 100 rankings. I am currently dowing all nations and tracks and as we speak, I am in USA at the New England location just finished Hancock Creek Burst. My best result in NE is 150th. I am using automatic and just keyboard, I would be super happy to finish top 50 in some tracks, we will see. P.S. I do only 1 race x track so some results at least for my oppinion, are really amazing if I finish top 100 and also good top 300.

Hi, how can I play double at PS4, one with the steering wheel and the other the joystick at the same stage with different cars? Is there a way to unlock all cars and tracks?
I noticed a couple things, the co driver callouts are not explained anywhere. What DC or close or open means, or the number called out with every number. What's the scale of severability? 1-6 is what it appears to be for me but it doesn't seem consistent from track to track. Also, I noticed the clutch is barely used in this video but you said to turn it on? Sorry for my bombardment, I just picked up the game and am so lost
Love the game my only gripe is how in rx they can take you out with a simple tap , and nobody bats an eye 👁, yet if I touch them nothing happens and I lose my mind ! 😂

The tarmac physics suck. So I wouldn't suggest any more tarmac rallies, until they are fixed. Besides, Scotland has said to be last rally location for DR 2.0

The only thing you need to do to get good is adjust the games settings one by one in the first few races, the default pad settings are way off particularly the handbrake!
I really wanted to like this game but I just can't get the steering tight enough to suit. I cannot get within 20 seconds of a win on the first rally cross race.

What will you do for Dirt Rally 3 unless you plan on continuing 2.0 after Scotland? Are you still going to split the game between rallycross & rally or make separate games for each, good with variety but it makes each mode more lacking than it could have been. Personally I feel 2 stages per country is a bit low and would like to see more per location in the next game. If you plan on using the same engine for Dirt Rally 3 i'm also ok if you add all 1 & 2.0 stages into 3, FOR FREE.

Controller is a good way to practice throttle management.
I used my ds4 to practice//shakedown my throttle management and then change into g29 for another shakedown

Proper lessons could have proper DLC material. Experts could skip them, while for novices or first time players they would be essentisl.

How are you using clutch with manual sequential like what mode do you use because i can’t with mine
On front wheel drive, sometimes better to lock handbrake first, then turn the wheels.

There is a difficulty setting no? At the end of the championship it tells you if you've been promoted or not
It's to make it more of a challenge, but if you're really struggling the A.I. does naturally relax after a while in order to make it easier
Would it be better to learn how to drive with changing gear and shifting manually right in the start or would be automatic be good at first?
If you can manage it, try Manual first but f it's too much info to take in, Auto is easier.

I would say it's a separate purchases as it's a different copy of the game. Good question though, ask it on the Codemasters forums

What will you do for Dirt Rally 3 unless you plan on continuing 2.0 after Scotland?
Are you still going to split the game between rallycross & rally or make separate games for each, good with variety but it makes each mode more lacking than it could have been. Personally I feel 2 stages per country is a bit low and would like to see more per location in the next game. If you plan on using the same engine for Dirt Rally 3 i'm also ok if you add all 1 & 2.0 stages into 3, FOR FREE.

Search "Gamer Muscle Dirt Rally 2.0 FFB GUIDE". There's some good settings in there that you can apply to your wheel and tweak after if needed.
