Before my husband passed away, if we argued, each person had an opportunity to have their say. Then either the argument came to a conclusion, or we agreed to disagree and then moved on. If it was a full on fight, we usually ended up "Not speaking". This could be for hours or even days, however, there were rules we put in place early in the relationship. We never left the house or went to bed without a kiss , we were civil in front of the kids (So they didn't know we weren't talking) and we spoke if it was necessary, like telling the person food was ready, or they were wanted on the phone. When we were ready to talk and move on, we would ask, "Are we okay?". If the other person was ready to move on they would answer "Yes.", other wise they might answer "Yes, but I am still angry". This let the person asking the question know the other needed a bit more time. The person who asked the question was free to talk to the other, but it would be a bit longer before the other person would be instigating conversations. This worked well for 30 years of marriage.

YESSS about letting the kids read whatever they WANT to read! My son who LOVED reading (was reading HP in 2nd and 3rd grade) was in the advanced program for 4th grade and his teacher told hin that he needed to be challenging himself when reading and she wouldn't accept books below his reading level as counting for his homework anymore.
It ruined his love for reading and we are still trying to get it back.
I'm still mad about it. For the record, we didn't enforce that and said read whatever you want, but one 'influential' adult telling him no to books he enjoyed took away the enjoyment of reading.

2 things- 1-As a Lit Specialist ANYTHING THEY WANT TO READ love this!!! Wish more folks understood this. Reading is reading. I don't pick up a physics book for pleasure, but I have friends who would. Let kids read what they like to read. And also- I listen to books too and again LITERACY SPECIALIST WHO LOVE TO READ LISTENS TO AUDIBLE. 2-I thought I was the only one who was on a budget as a kid in the 80's. Please share more about your childhood experiences with frugality (as comfortable obvi). I really grew up feeling like my mom and I were the only ones counting pennies, cause "80's of excess" was the be all end all vibe in my area.

always always always have a ready made freezer pizza, i know it's not the best, it's not always cheap but it's cheaper! it's no muss, easier than take out

My daughter and her friend went to big bend feb 2022. They throughly enjoyed it but it is very, very remote. There's no cell service at all in the vast majority of the park. She wasn't aware of it and I got a bit panicked because I couldn't get ahold of her for several days. She and her brother have iphones so he finally got in touch and let me know what was going on with cell service. They had a great time but underestimated how cold it gets in the desert at night.

Even though it is all turkeys and hams, the meat dept. has to keep the counter full, so steaks and chops and other "non-holiday" related items are often priced to move really quickly. Actually if you have autoimmune disease you DO need them. And unfortunately many people in our country do have autoimmune issues. Also I've solved a lot of issues with supplements that other people solve by going to the dr and taking a drug. Supplements are a very good idea. ❤

    • @antiantipoda
      @antiantipoda Рік тому

@@dianasimplifies I am skeptical of supplements as treatment for any disease. Let me explain why:
      1) The label says: 200 mg of whatever, it is unregulated, so you could be getting 200mg, 100mg or 1000 mg. That there is bad enough.
      2) The label says the active ingredient is x, it could be, it could also be y, or y, z and ephedrine.
      3) Placebo effect. Doing something that you believe will make you feel better, can make you feel better. This can be great, if what you believe is safe and stable, but can bias your perception, since you are doing an uncontrolled study with only one patient: you.
      4) Most autoimmune diseases change by themselves. Say psoriasis, it gets worse and gets better even if you do nothing. You just have to survive the worst phase. Another chance for bias.
      5) Natural does not mean safe. There are many plants that are poisonous, also minerals. Some are used as medicine, like the lithium I take every day. Lithium can be great for treating bipolar, but in an overdose it is one of the worst ways not to die. If you survive an overdose of lithium, you can have neurological deficits for the rest of your life, never mind the other organ damage. My dose of lithium is monitored by blood tests. It is not only how much I take, it is how much is available in the blood stream and this changes person to person.
That is why I think no healthy person should take supplements and most sick persons shouldn't either. Sorry for the essay, I guess I had many points to make.

Resting heart rate 45?!! Mine is between 82-94 LOL. I need to go on more walks...or work on my constant state of anxiety. 45? I think I'm broken, lol.

Interesting that they took out the checkers at Walmart, in our city they’re putting them back in because of too much theft. They took them out during the last recession too. Hmmm trending?

I don't think you'd survive in my area. 99% of the time there are no clearance items.

I thought so too however I have run across some lately but it was stuff I either don't eat (packaged crap) or I did get some clearance meat but then decided later the regular price at Aldi would have been about the same. Lol. Most of what I see is clearance junk food and donuts and other bakery stuff we never buy. She buys those clearance salad kits. I would never let one of those touch my lips 😂😂😂 they have something in it that makes me sick. Glad she can eat them. When you have stomach probs (or severe food allergies like so many in this country) the clearance aisle prob ain't gonna get it.

I call it calorie vision. Its like a super power. IF I am trying something completely new I will look at the nutrition facts. Whole foods are easy. I can tell if its enough. When people say, " I DID eat." and it was something like a small yogurt, I'm like you need like 300 more calories. That's why you're hangry.

Hope your race went well! I went to walmart today and had to get the worker ok me buying fuel injector cleaner for my car at self checkout. You have to be 18, which I was a while ago.

Hey guys fyi not going to be angry is in the Bible. So I don’t agree with God being full of it. But that doesn’t mean you have resolve it fully without sleep. If possible up resolve it go for it. Don’t put it off. But I think it is important to just come to a point where you’re not fuming and make sure you resolve it next day for sure.
