Here is my banana bread recipe which i have been told is the best people have ever had Wet ingredients -1/2 cup soft salted butter -1/2 cup dark brown sugar -1/2 cup white sugar -3 large VERY RIPE (completely black) bananas -1 Large egg -vanilla to taste Dry ingredients -1 & a 1/2 cups flour -1 tsp baking soda -2tsp cinnamon (or to taste) -a good pinch of salt Instructions -preheat oven to 375° -sift together the flour, soda and salt (or just combine well with a fork if you want) -mix sugar, butter & cinnamon until very well combined and lighter in colour -mash bananas with a fork until it is still slightly chunky -beat egg and vanilla together with a fork and combine with the banana mixture -slowly mix together the egg banana mixture with the butter and sugar mixture until it is a smooth mixture -pour your dry ingredients into the wet and fold gently together until JUST combined (DO NOT OVERMIX) and let rest for 5 minutes before pouring into a buttered and floured loaf pan -place in preheated oven for 55-60 minutes or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with only little moist crumbs. Optional Mix ins -1 cup of toasted walnut pieces (my favourite) -1/2 cup of chocolate or peanut butter chips -1 cup of frozen or fresh blueberries -1/2 cup shredded/flaked coconut It also tastes better the second day but is amazing warm with a pat of butter as well Edited in 2020 for clarity -all purpose flour -standard or large size egg Or alternatively try a flax egg or chia egg and vegan butter if you want it to be vegan. Thank you guys for the love
I make bread when my bananas are BLACK and i dont add in any sugar except some brown sugar. then i add in banana cream greek yogurt and banana pudding mix which makes it hella moist. topped with brown sugar and cinnamon... add cinnamon and nutmeg to the batter its way better that way
I made this yesterday and everybody loved it. I personally loved it and believe it was one of the best banana breads I've ever had. I used Greek yogurt instead of sour cream and brown sugar instead of white sugar. Definitely recommend this recipe :)
Great recipe. Best so far i tried. I cut down the sugar to 100 grams and use brown sugar instead. Dont have sour cream so i subs it with greek yogurt and baking soda mixture. Also change half of the flour to almond flour. Turns out great still!!! Banana and chocolate are match make in heaven. Super satisfied. Yummy 😋
I just made this recipe (with ripe bananas) and it was seriously amazing! My whole family loved it! They just ordered more materials to make another batch👌
Tried this one at home! and OMG my whole family loved it! The texture of the bread itself is moist i think it really works with brown sugar and cinnamons! Thankyou!!
This recipe worked. I didn't have sour cream/greek yoghurt so i subsituted it with a bit of milk. Add in a dash of cinnamon and it tasted great. Thanks for this :)
Omg what’s the problem in the comment section everyone is bugging out because the bananas aren’t ripe enough who cares if you want your banana ripe enough wait a few more days or put them in the oven like she said! Lovely recipe I’m definitely trying this tomorrow!! 😘😘
True! I definitely see this recipe so appealing so I tried it (just swapped some ingredients with brown sugar, baking powder & all purpose cream instead of the sour cream, cause those were what I had) and it was still awesome, my husband and friends loved it and will definitely make it again. 🤗 Thank you for this recipe Delish!
I’ve made this twice now and wow, it’s AMAZING. I actually split the batter and add a little cinnamon and sugar in between. And I use baker’s chocolate which trust me, tastes SO much better as the cocoa flavour is intensified. Thank you for the recipe!!
i have just made this and turned out great.. i didn't have sour cream so i replaced it with yogurt. it is yummy. next time i think i'm gonna try it with some cinnamon....thank you very much for the wonderful recipe.
I made this today, and it is delicious! I did change a few things, though - I added a small amount of ginger and cinnamon powder, some raisins (because I don't like nuts), and used only about a third of the amount of sugar you suggest. It's perfectly sweet enough for me, and it means I can have it with butter and a bit of jam if I want to.
I'm new to baking and cooking. This was my 1st banana bread and it's awesome! Here are a few suggestions if you (like me) are a novice. When measuring dry ingredients, use measuring cups for dry ingredients. The glass measuring cup is to be used for liquids. Scoop the flour (I used all purpose). You may want to make sure that it's aerated (not settled) before scooping. This will ensure that you scoop the right amount. I've heard that using non-aerated flour is often times the reason why your baked goods come out dry. If you don't have a toothpick, insert a sharp knife into the the bread to see if it's ready. If it is ready, the knife will come out clean. Finally if you have raw walnuts, toast them first. 10 mins in 350 degrees F is what I did. I did this about an hour before baking, but they only need to be cooled off (maybe 15 mins?) before they're incorporated into the recipe. Happy baking!
Love it! I like to use almond flour instead of regular flower, and substitute the sugar with honey! You would be surprised how much sweetness you get from just a little bit of honey and the sweetness from the banana! I usually add either pecans or almonds and always add chia seeds! It’s a more low carb option and still tastes delish !
Tried this recipe just now... I’ll let you know how it turned out. The buns are in the oven ☺️ (The recipe was big enough for two small bread pans and I used 3 very ripe 🍌 and replaced a C of sugar with 3/4 c brown sugar)

I just made this and it is super moist (no apologies!) 😉 Great recipe! I didn’t have a loaf pan so I split the batter into two 8” cake pans and only baked for 30min. Perfect 👌
I just tried this recipe yesterday afternoon (with less sugar because I just didn't want it to be overwhelmingly sweet) and have to say that I love how it turned out! I am very impressed that it turned out the way it did because I've tried many banana bread recipes and they've always failed me. I think that the sour cream was really the key to this! Also, I put it in the oven for 1 hour 3 mins. 50 mins was way too short and the dough inside was somewhat underbaked.
I made one the other day with Bisquick instead of the flour and other dry ingredients. Added walnuts and for the sugar I used half and half white sugar and brown sugar. And it was delish!
Thanks a lot for this wonderful recipe. I used brown sugar instead of the white one and added a bit of cinnamon. Mixture of chocolate, walnuts and banana is really yummy.

Cassandra Rose that sounds amazing! I’ve never thought to brown the butter. I’m going to try it! Do you let the browned butter solidify again or do you just mix it in melted?
rach_robinson09 you don’t have to let it solidify, just let it cool to room temperature before mixing. The recipe I use is Brown Butter Banana Bread from Joy The Baker. 👏🏻 Happy baking! 🙂

People always find a reason to complain 😒. I tried this recipe for the first time I baked ANYTHING from scratch and it was delicious! My family loved it so much, I am making it again today. Thank you for sharing!!
Thanks for showing how to fit the parchment paper so nicely into the pan. I know it seems like it would be obvious, but that quick tutorial was awesome!
I use 1/2 white and 1/2 brown sugar, 1/2 tsp of baking soda, 1 1/2 tsp baking powder, 1/4 tsp salt, 1 tsp cinnamon, 3-4 black bananas and everything else except the sour cream and vanilla .... Yummy!! I'll definitely try the sour cream next time.
I think it's more about the fact that chocolate chips inside are covered by moist cake so the temperature is the same all around them and the chocolate chips on to the top have a moisture only on the bottom so the chocolate on top burn a little (when u overmelt the chocolate it hardens so that's the mechanism) so they don't melt :) PS sorry, my English isn't the best and I problably made some grammar mistakes but I hope I satisfied your curiosity
I ended up using 1/4 cup of brown sugar and strawberry flavored yogurt, I thought it tasted great...especially for someone who haven’t been eating any sweet desserts for the past five months. I even baked my bananas in the oven to bring the sweetness out prior to the preparation.
Those bananas aren’t even ripe enough to make an average banana bread never mind ‘the only recipe you’ll ever need’. I’d advise trying this with super ripe bananas and less sugar, it’ll have so much more flavour!!
@@CrissyBoo88 i use more bananas (overly ripe, brown spots and all) and i put no sugar in it. i think the chocolate gives it enough sweetness and if i think it needs more, i put powdered sugar on the loaf after it cooled down :) but i think you could easily cut the amount of sugar they used in half and still have a nicely sweet bread. hope that helps!
I recently made my son gluten free, dairy free, and nut free banana cake, with light muscovado sugar cinammon, with very ripe bananas due to a medical condition and it was so delicious.
All I can see here is people complaining because she didn't use sweet over ripe bananas(or maybe she didn't have it at the moment?). She wanted to share a recipe of her own style to everyone, so Do add what you want. Wanna add nutmeg, cinnamon etc go add it every one has their own taste. I am gonna try this soon it looks very delicious mm

I love the take on the banana bread. Never thought of adding chocolate chips. 😊👍🏽
People always find a reason to complain 😒. I tried this recipe for the first time I baked ANYTHING from scratch and it was delicious! My family loved it so much, I am making it again today. Thank you for sharing!!
Made this a few days ago...twas yum. Loved it
Thanks for showing how to fit the parchment paper so nicely into the pan. I know it seems like it would be obvious, but that quick tutorial was awesome!
That looks sooo bomb. I can’t wait to make this.
I love your recipe thank you so much for taking the time to do this for us. Whether or not the banana is ripe it was still wonderfully made🤗❤️
I just made this banana bread recipe but without chocolate chips and it was still amazing!!
Who in the world waits 30 mins for bread to cool down ?
😂😂😂
Hack tip. Bake before sleep. You won't have to wait because you'll be sleeping and in the morning you got banana bread for breakfast
😂😂😂😂😂 I was thinking the same thing.....🤣
true. you wait for 1 min becore eating and HAHSASHAS your way through it
Yanie witty 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I like your description of the hot in your mouth 😂
This recipe turned out lovely! This will be my go-to recipe from now on
i need some science folks to explain to me why the chocolate chip cookies didn't fully melt on top.
Ebizzill the chocolate chips has a stabilizer in them to keep their shape.
I think it's more about the fact that chocolate chips inside are covered by moist cake so the temperature is the same all around them and the chocolate chips on to the top have a moisture only on the bottom so the chocolate on top burn a little (when u overmelt the chocolate it hardens so that's the mechanism) so they don't melt :)
PS sorry, my English isn't the best and I problably made some grammar mistakes but I hope I satisfied your curiosity
Because is dark chocolate
I ended up using 1/4 cup of brown sugar and strawberry flavored yogurt, I thought it tasted great...especially for someone who haven’t been eating any sweet desserts for the past five months. I even baked my bananas in the oven to bring the sweetness out prior to the preparation.
Those bananas aren’t even ripe enough to make an average banana bread never mind ‘the only recipe you’ll ever need’. I’d advise trying this with super ripe bananas and less sugar, it’ll have so much more flavour!!
I noticed it was alot of sugar. What do you reccomend?
@@CrissyBoo88 i use more bananas (overly ripe, brown spots and all) and i put no sugar in it. i think the chocolate gives it enough sweetness and if i think it needs more, i put powdered sugar on the loaf after it cooled down :) but i think you could easily cut the amount of sugar they used in half and still have a nicely sweet bread. hope that helps!
Very true
This is the best banana bread that I’ve ever tried. I always get complements when I make it.
Yum! That looks soo good !! I’m going to try making it . Thank you for sharing your recipe 😃
Just followed this recipe to the T and came out perfectly. I think the sour cream gave it a creamy kick for sure. 🤤

I've done it before and it works well!
Absolutely!

I use finely minced walnuts and pecans and use SPLENDA for sweetener. Every afternoon I have a thick cut slice of BB with a double Nespresso Espresso.
I made this recipe and it was so good ! I highly recommend this!
I recently made my son gluten free, dairy free, and nut free banana cake, with light muscovado sugar cinammon, with very ripe bananas due to a medical condition and it was so delicious.
This looks so good, can't wait to make mine!! I'm obsessed lol
The parchment paper trick is worth the entire video, thanks for sharing 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👩🏾🍳👩🏾🍳👩🏾🍳
