From an era when TV themes were as good as film scores. The Sweeney, Ironside, Taxi, Hill St Blues - the list is endless. This was a classic with the split screen credits and the pairing of the classy Englishman and the Brash American. I can recall this went to 1 or 2 in the charts. Great times.

My favourite TV tune by a mile. The late John Barry genius! Takes me back to early 70s watching the Persuaders after the Big Match on Sunday afternoons with my late father.
Sounds so fresh as when it was new ,a wonderful moving theme music with two incredible stars the late Roger Moore and the late Tony Curtis the Persuarders are fondly remember today .R.I.P. .gone but never forgotten and the incredible music of John Berry .
Was my fathers all-time favorite TV-show, he could watch it again and again. He died last year from cancer, but the memories of him surely comes to life when I listen to this.
Sorry to hear that,my father passed away in December,he was delirious for a week & we stayed by his side for many hours & one of his favourite shows was the persuaders ,he couldn't say much ,but hell he knew that music when I played it on my phone, incredible theme.stay safe.
No me perdía ningún capítulo.
So special love love love! Thank you John Barry for your genius ! Thank you Sir Roger, for your greatness, charm and wit with much love. Tony Curtis for being you the leather gloves added a nice touch for Daniel Wilde. What a handsome pair of chaps that complemented each other rather well. Rip gentlemen. Bravo! Xoxo 😇
I remember watching The Persuaders! when it was first broadcast on ABC in 1971. I was a lad of 12 at the time. I'd been a follower of Sir Roger Moore from the days of The Saint on the telly. I'd also seen much of Tony Curtis' early work. The idea for The Persuaders! had it's genesis from two episodes of The Saint (black and white and colour, more so the colour episode) which co-starred Stuart Damon. The idea of a television series paring a Briton and American, both well-to-do through different means, and with a compunction for righting wrongs, was at once novel and lasting. The popularity of the programme has continued to grow in syndication. R.I.P. Sir Roger and Mr. Curtis.
I was back at high school. My Grandmother bought me the Persuaders annual for Christmas. Friday nights where eagerly awaited, for another adventure with Lord Brett and Danny. Totally brilliant!
My gosh!!!!, I remember this song and this series. I was very young, I was a child. but I remember that I was sat in front of my TV (black and white), waiting to see Danny Wilde and Lord Bret Sinclari...BEAUTIFUL!!!!
In France too, we could watch this TV serie in the 70's, but instead "the persuaders", french TV changed it for "friendly yours" (Amicalemement vôtre"...) But we (french kids 10/14) loved it a lot..Tony Curtis "french voice" by a french theater actor, was specially pleasant and "joky".....perfect for this funny character!!
This series is truly cult and a forerunner. When I was young in the '70s, I sat and watched this series. Even then unique in its kind by two great personalities in Tony Curtis and Roger Moore. The music is really finely crafted for this series and matches exactly the content. Phenomenally!! Greetings from Sweden!
As others have said, a brilliant theme from a brilliant mind who had an uncanny knack for producing some of the most iconic themes in television and cinematic history. RIP John Barry
Meravigliosa musica.
I disagree - egos would have clashed and the end result (if indeed it got as far as producing something) would likely have been a compromise that neither would have been happy with. Would Da Vinci and Michelangelo working together have produced better art than the two did individually?
As a rule I am a fan of and enjoy immensely anything by the brilliant John Barry. I have long loved this piece of music, his film scores and TV themes are part of my childhood and I spent many happy hours listening to them. What you have managed here is to lift this incredible theme to a higher level with your mix and given me, us, almost 6 minutes of superb music. Many thanks to you Mr. Davoli. Grazie mille. 🙏
Totally agree on the ‘feel’ that this theme evokes in its own right, never mind the added nostalgia of its release-time commenters. The contrasts work well too: shorter, higher notes of the lead lines contrast with the later, wide, descant, bass swathes of synth of those early opening phrases. The minimal use of the percussion section also keeps the mix open and focussed on the guiding theme. Another element the producers must’ve wanted from this score was that it wasn’t a singalong like say, “Streets & Alleyways”; which would follow a year later, or be a big band or orchestra production like the earlier tunes from “The Avengers” or “The Prisoner”. Barry’s choice in this musical charm didn’t give any clue to what the series was about, it’s very abstract and hence not weighed down with the kitsch and flamboyance of the actor’s characters or indeed their own globally-known personalities. The velvet jackets, wide collars, flares and sports cars were very much the work of the casting director and costumers as indeed were the props of transatlantic old and new wealthy estates and sports cars.

It sounds of loss
Do you have the German (funny) versions? I would love the German versions with English subtitles.😂
The French Riviera, fast cars, beautiful women. What a life that would have been for some, back in the late 1960's.
Eh... Sapessi io. Che bei tempi andati. ❤️👍🏻
Sounds so fresh as when it was new ,a wonderful moving theme music with two incredible stars the late Roger Moore and the late Tony Curtis the Persuarders are fondly remember today .R.I.P. .gone but never forgotten and the incredible music of John Berry .
They live for evermore in our hearts ands thoughts.
Beautiful tune brings back wonderful memories of that era.Too good actors.
Was my fathers all-time favorite TV-show, he could watch it again and again. He died last year from cancer, but the memories of him surely comes to life when I listen to this.
Sorry x
Sorry to hear that,my father passed away in December,he was delirious for a week & we stayed by his side for many hours & one of his favourite shows was the persuaders ,he couldn't say much ,but hell he knew that music when I played it on my phone, incredible theme.stay safe.
Si sorry
So sorry 😞
I'm nearly 58 & the theme tune brings back so many memories of my childhood!
The series was pretty good too!
No me perdía ningún capítulo.
I love this. well done !!!! Love John Barry. This is in my soul at the age of 5 years old and now..50 years later, it reigns supreme.
Bravo! Xoxo 😇
Thanks. For What you say.
Curtis.
Absolutely...they are greatly missed...RIP boys..

Wonderful theme, wonderful TV-series, wonderful actors Tony Curtis and Roger Moore!! I have every part of The Persuaders!!!
Wow! That's great!
Just one season what a pity....
roll over the floor loughing :D
I was back at high school.
My Grandmother bought me the Persuaders annual for Christmas.
Friday nights where eagerly awaited, for another adventure with Lord Brett and Danny.
Totally brilliant!
TV albums for Christmas - that deserves a thread all of its own!
Tony Roger R. I. P🙏 serie fantastic attori stupendi🥺👏🏻♥️
@@29200Patrick 👍👍👍
This series is truly cult and a forerunner. When I was young in the '70s, I sat and watched this series. Even then unique in its kind by two great personalities in Tony Curtis and Roger Moore. The music is really finely crafted for this series and matches exactly the content. Phenomenally!! Greetings from Sweden!
Tony Curtis real Navy photo was used in the opening graphics.
I remember too the 70s
The series was so beautiful to taste from the beginning to the end with this great theme ❤️
As others have said, a brilliant theme from a brilliant mind who had an uncanny knack for producing some of the most iconic themes in television and cinematic history. RIP John Barry
Possibly the best theme song for a tv show that lasted way too short, the split screen wth their upbringing what a fabulous idea. Unforgettable!
I was a primary school pupil at the time, never missed an episode. Memories are themselves like films now.
Great series great actors, great stories, great script writing, not the crap we have to put up with today!
Meravigliosa musica.
Flavio
Feeling nostalgic right now... old memories just flooding in. You both made my childhood worth every minute!!
Imagine if John Barry and Ennio Marricone had worked together! I wished they had as I bet anything they produced would be incredible.
WOW!! Wouldn't that have been something
2 génies ensemble ?? ...ça ne marche pas !
@@MrLinoventura Et une connerie de plus!
I disagree - egos would have clashed and the end result (if indeed it got as far as producing something) would likely have been a compromise that neither would have been happy with. Would Da Vinci and Michelangelo working together have produced better art than the two did individually?
You’re right, would have been an amazing collaboration .
Tony curtis , roger moore, reposez en paix ❤❤❤😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
As a rule I am a fan of and enjoy immensely anything by the brilliant John Barry.
I have long loved this piece of music, his film scores and TV themes are part of my childhood and I spent many happy hours listening to them.
What you have managed here is to lift this incredible theme to a higher level with your mix and given me, us, almost 6 minutes of superb music.
Many thanks to you Mr. Davoli. Grazie mille. 🙏
Many thanks to you!
@@andreadavoli6605 Thank you sir.
John Barry what a gifted person he was.
As a Frenchman it also brings me memories of childhood, nostalgia...
I always listen to this haunting tune when I'm in a certain mood. Melancholic. It almost always brings me to tears. RIP both❤️. Great remix.👍
I feel the exact same
Thank you for making an extended version of the tune. I totally agree with the others. This is one of the best TV theme ever!
Azzeccatissimi attori, autori, auto, indumenti, musiche! Anni 70! Quegli anni come si possono dimenticare! Attenti a quei due stava veramente avanti!!! Spettacolare!
