Thank you for this video. I hate summer most of the time, because it's harder for me to pass, but these tips help. I haven't been able to go swimming with my friends in a long time, so I'll have to check those swim binders out.

This is a really good vide :D At first I was scared to go swimming because I dreaded wearing a girls swim suit, but now I wear a rash vest with swimming trunks so I go to the pool feeling well happy :)

You can actually wear a binder that is one size bigger than your usual size when you go swimming and it works pretty well
when i go to the beach, i wear a gc2b tank top style binder. it does make me a little dysphoric about my waist but once i get in the water i have no problem!

I am biologically a female, but I have just recently begun to suspect that I might be transgender... I hadn't really heard the word until recently, but as I looked into the definition, looked back on my younger life, I realized that I felt that I identified with it. I'm pretty young though, so I'm not totally sure what to do about it. I feel kind of confused, and I'm not sure how to tell my parents... So I was thinking that since you obviously have experience with this, I watched a few of your videos, I wanted to ask you if there was any advice you could offer me. I just feel confused, lost and a bit scared, so.. Yeah. I guess that's it. I'd really appreciate any feedback. :)

shadowhowler I just want to say, there are non-binary genders out there so you don't have to be 100% male. I'm not 100% male so try looking into other genders also. I'm more transmasculine so putting an example out there.
Well just start experimenting. Like with clothes, hair styles, all that stuff. And if it feels natural, you could be trans. But you can also be a tomboy. Where you want to dress like a boy, but still like being a girl. But also just give it time. It will come to you one day

I would really like to know how to keep looking flat even when the wind blows right at you. No matter how baggy a shirt I wear if the wind comes you can just see it all.. but maybe there is nothing to do about that..

Hey there Benton. What to do if you cant afford binders or wanna hide the rest of your body, like shoulders and hips? Which summer clothes can pre t people buy? Is it normal to wear for example a big rain/summer jacket?
i cant wear flip flops cuz i have abnormally short toes :(
i shaved my hair but i look feminine as hell :( i can't get any binder because my mom think it's a phase
i had mine sent to a friends house, if you have a friend you can trust you should ask them about it
yes but not everyone have money for a top surgery and i'm just 16 so my mom will never accept. binders are a good alternative

Honestly, Benton, your amazing! im so glad your open. im also trans and i make videos as well. i was wondering if you can maybe check it out and give me some input. preferably my timeline video. i know we may be considered the same but we arent. your completly different. your life in transition is way different from mine. you have your seperate struggles and if you dont mind i would love to exchange some words with you!

I stopped swimming at the time I got my period for the very first time because I hate it so much. Like everything about it. I used to love swimming but getting my period really destroyed it all. That's also one of the reasons why I really want to get on testosterone, I want to start swimming again. But thanks for the tipps, I'll try some of them some time. :D

A grey binder tends to not show up as much, don't really know why but in my experience it just does😋

all i do for swimming is wear boys swim trunks and a loose tshirt. i have my hair cut short so that helps too. its just hard cause i dint have any money fro a binder so when im walking around and stuff you still see my breasts and its really hard to live like that. but i get asked my gender alot because ill wear a pink shirt a black sweater and khaki shorts and you could only tell im a girl by my breats. but i also sometimes have a bulge so taking the bus is always an adventure as people never know what to call me

I don't know if I'm ever going to fully change my gender or even try to appear as male... I might be agender... but I would never have that flipflop problem since my feet are so big for a female (see why I don't feel like a female... :D) that I already buy my shoes from the male section...

I think these are really great tips. Ignore my very feminine username (damn being in the closet) but I am ftm trans as well. I don't want to call you out, you don't have to say, but I can't tell if those were scars on your arm or the way the light hit your arm and it was just hair. Sorry, I'm curious

I really want the swimming binder but my mom and dad don't know I'm trans yet and I'm not old enough to buy things off line
same here I had to go round tons of shops yesterday finding a bikini because my mum wants me to wear one when I'm swimming. I tried to find one that made me look as flat as possible but it was really hard to find one.
I can't buy a binder either but what I do is I have a cami turned around that has a band built in bra thing and I put it over the nipple where it compresses the most then I fold it to add more compression if you don't have one you can do baisicly the same thing with a to small bra that kinda compresses I hope this doesn't confuses you but I have a reblog about the first one on my tumblr blog ftm-tips but I think this makes sense

Any advice for coming out as trans to my parents? I told them I want to dress up in boys costume for Halloween, and my mom...isn't thrilled...I know my parents would never hurt me, so my safety isn't in danger, but I'm scared of how my parents, especially my mom will react. Whenever the subject arises, they freeze and don't talk about it much. I plan to come out fully after asking them to experiment with calling me a male name and using male pronouns. I'm not questioning any more, but I do want to ease them into it. Help!
What I did is I did not say mom im trans lets go get a haircut and everything. What I did is I said mom could we maybe see a gender tharapist I just have questions i need answered.

This begs a question and I hope this question doesn't cause (or trigger) a problem for you. Do you have any definite plans to have top surgery? Maybe you've answered this question in another video, but I haven't been able to find it. Sorry if you think this is too nosy.. I'm sometimes too nosy for my own good. Cheers!

Benton I forgot that you're in Canada and subject to their referral system. I would suppose binding is one of the most bothersome practices that a transitioning person has to experience, BUT you should be thankful that you don't have huge moobs to deal with. It's surprising how I have to continuously remind myself that you're a trans person because your outward appearance and mannerisms are so masculine. Your deep voice certainly helps that impression and your facial features are purely those of a male. Just some observations from me...worth about 2 cents (US). Topless seems like a great practice when among good friends of either gender. Thanks for answering my question and have a great week in that beautiful place!
