    Hey, I know this probably sounds stupid, but I'm a 14 year old trans male and I'm planning on starting my transition on my birthday, I'll be turning 15 but what inspired me to start was you, I just want to thank you for letting me realize that I wasn't alone I couldn't help but to write this because today I had gone to a church and ended up getting held down my two ladies, they kept telling me that I was going to go to hell and I wouldn't be accepted by society, but I could honestly care less about what they said, but for now I'm just glad to have come across your UA-cam channel, thank you.

    You’re gorgeous! My ex (husband of 12 years) is FTM: I love being able to stay involved with the trans community through social media, like this. I’m a true bi, so I’m GLBT, but being with my ex gave me an appreciation of the real struggle trans people still face. It’s like being gay was in the 1950s, or something. But I am amazed at how far trans people have come, in terms of creating an awareness and acceptance I didn’t think I would see in my lifetime. My ex began his transition in the 1990s (ca. “Boys Don’t Cry”). That movie, and the crime it was based on, really did accurately portray the level of oppression in the 90s.

    so true that being trans gives us more empathy. living the first part of your life as the "wrong" gender for you and ppl never seeing the true you cause your bio gender is blocking the view rly make you meet ppl without putting others in boxes and teaches you how to be strong enough in your belief in yourself to be the one that tells you you're not just crazy to feel this way. it makes us strong and kind if we chose to use it for good. kinda like a superpower ^^

    It's awesome to see you more active on youtube. I pretty much never leave comments, but I feel like the quality of vids you make is super high, and they're really pleasing, interesting and educational too. Your friend Lindsay is funny as and you guys have great energy together. I also relate to your conflicting feelings about discussing your transition... I've been medically transitioning for almost 7 years and am stealth... but for the last year, I've wanted to connect more to the community and am struggling with how to do that. I've personally known people who were in their 50s and 60s before starting to transition. So like everyone else said, never too late.
      I found connecting with my local trans community, and building a support circle among those who were/are accepting of me was an essential step to getting comfortable and brave enough to pursue transition.
      Take it all at your own pace. It's your unique life and journey, your body and your gender. No one else can tell you when or the right way. ❤

  • @TheDominicProject
    @TheDominicProject 4 роки тому

    This is a difficult question, but one that I've seen many people across the lgbtq+/leftytube dialogue struggle to answer or agree on. Trigger warning I know it is a complex and loaded issue, I am merely bisexual goth, my parents were progressive and my changes were merely aesthetic; I never had to be as courageous and honest as many people in this comments section, so apologies if I am clumsy. The question I have is, would you say from your own experiences and from the people that you have met, are there aspects of transitioning from AFAB that are, I guess, easier or less controversial to manage than from AMAB? And what aspects run opposite to that - what do people tend to find more difficult when transitioning to male? I guess it depends on the person, and sometimes the inherited bone structure, obviously, cis -especially white- male privilege still exists in both behavioural and linguistic terms (amongst others), and from what I've seen online and discussed with one of my old friends Nate (who has been on testosterone longer than Benton at this point...wow haven't thought back to our complicated school days in a while haha), it can be easier to keep your head down/blend in as a trans man, whereas some trans women have to own their trans-visibility in a different way. I don't mean to undermine/undersell the challenges faced by anyone, but as our society is stilted against certain groups - some big some minorities - what advantages are you privy to early on? and what advantages are you still excluded from, on whatever side of the Catharine wheel of gender you lie? Understanding fosters love, and dispels hatred. I hope I haven't tread on any toes...
    I was just wondering if there were any trends or patterns that tend to repeat? I wonder if that might help people feel more prepared at the start of their journey.. to whom I wish the best of luck, it was so so worth it for Nate. Don't rush, but ultimately trust yourself. What do you fear more? Staying as someone who you can't relate to, or finding out who you should be?
