    Some great suggestions! I make all my chicken marinades with whatever I’ve got. Then store the baggies in the fridge overnight before freezing them.
    Sometimes it’s as simple as olive oil and garlic powder. Often times it’s a combination of any number of things, like I almost always start out with Catalina dressing. Then add whatever I feel like using, sesame oil, peanut butter, mayonnaise, balsamic vinegar, orange juice, tamari, sweet chili sauce, crushed garlic, smoked paprika, liquid smoke, maple syrup, honey, thyme, savory.. use any combination. Don’t measure anything. Just pick 3 or 4 things you like and drop it all in the bag.
    I love this video as it gives me new ideas! Thank you!
    Btw, I do this for steak too, but let it marinate in the fridge for a day or two before freezing.

    I won't recommend discarding the cilantro stems...they carry the most flavor...especially if your freezing first... if not i would recommend adding both the stems and leaves..just leave the stems long for easy removal...you can wrap the together with kitchen string for an even easier removal. As a Italian-American/Sicilian...we ALWAYS use the stems in marinades and if pulsing herbs together into pastes it's even better for the best flavor. Again you can always wrap them in a bundle for easy removal but if freezing 1st I highly recommend it. It's zero waste and MAXIMUM FLAVOR!

It seemed like the sandwich size bag worked really well but they do have stand up bags now too. I would compare the volume/capacity of a stand up version to the sandwich on their website to see what size stand up bag you’d need if you wanted that instead. @@SweetPeasSaffron yes the lemon ginger seems versatile enough. I usually dice my chicken breast and pre season before adding it to my soups so the chicken would have it's own unique taste. I own this gallon size reusable silicone bag (amzn.to/2rOzoKl) and it's OK but I personally prefer a meal prep container as it's easier to wash. Are those two large chicken breasts in the sandwich size stasher bag? What sized stasher bags would you recommend?

    • @SweetPeasSaffron
      @SweetPeasSaffron  5 років тому

      Hi! Yes, they are the sandwich size. They work great for about 1lb of chicken breast but would not work for a larger volume. What are you looking to use your stashers for?

    That looks good but wouldn’t it be better to mix up the marinade first and then pour it over the chicken?

    I really want to try your marinade chicken but I can't seem to find your adjustable recipe guide.

      Click through the link to the blog post (sweetpeasandsaffron.com/7-chicken-marinade-recipes-freezer-friendly/), then hit the 'jump to recipe' button, and you will get to the recipe card, which you can adjust the portion sizes on. Hope this helps!

      I think it would work well for chicken wings, though I haven't tried.

    I just recently stumbled upon your channel, as I am trying to get back on healthier eating which can be tricky when you're busy which is why you make these awesome videos!:) Everything looks so delicious. The marinades sound awesome, but as I hardly eat meat anymore, do you think I could prepare the marinades with tofu as well and freeze those? Or do you think it would ruin the texture?
    Thanks so much!

      @SweetPeasSaffron  4 роки тому +1

      Hi! Yes, I have had readers use these for tofu, and it's my understanding that freezing tofu can help improve its texture as well. Let me know if you give it a try!

    What labels are those? Do they wash off well without falling off in the meantime? We've been using masking tape because it works, but it's just not pretty. I like things to be pretty, which is lame I know, but it's the little things.

      Since shooting this video, I have switched to dry erase marker...for some reason it wasn't working well this day. I do love these labels for containers & jars. amzn.to/37IRKwy

    hi ! great video, however if i would like to do prepping for 1 week only do i have to use a chiller? or usual fridge would be fine?

    • @SweetPeasSaffron
      @SweetPeasSaffron  4 роки тому

      Hi Stevan! I don't recommend storing food in the fridge for longer than 4 days, as it can have food safety issues after that. If you want to prep for a whole week, the freezer will be your best friend! Here's a video with some ideas for you: ua-cam.com/video/QqeJvdNIEMw/v-deo.html

    Just an fyi, the stems of herbs like cilantro are wear the flavor is concentrated, throwing them out is kinda wasteful and compromises flavor...combine equal parts stems and leaves or at least save stems for making broth for less waste and more bang for your buck...

    thanks for the video, all the marinations looks lovely but my question is how much time does it take after taking the chicken out of freezer and whats the best way to thaw it ? MUCH LOVE

    • @SweetPeasSaffron
      @SweetPeasSaffron  4 роки тому

      Hi Rohit! I thaw overnight in the fridge, or for a few hours in cold water (tip- place a bowl of water on top of the chicken in a bigger bowl of water to submerge it...thaws way quicker that way!)
